The Journey to Platform 9 3/4
Luna awoke with a start. She hurried upstairs to breakfast, hoping for some waffles. Today was her big day. Today was the day she was going to Hogwarts. Her parents were waiting for her upstairs, her trunk packed. "Good morning mum. Morning dad." Luna greeted her parents with a hug. She looked at the clock, that read 9:30 a.m. "I'd better get started on breakfast." She said.
After a delicious breakfast, she hurried back downstairs to brush her teeth, and change into her Hogwarts robes. As she walked back upstairs brushing her hair, her mom asked her why she was in her robes now. "You can just change into them on the train." She suggested. "I'd rather not" Luna replied. "I like to be prepared." She looked at her watch, with now read 10:25. "Can we start going? I want to get to the platform early." She looked at her parents, who nodded. She walked over to her pet turtle's tank. "I'm going to miss you, Ivy." Grabbing her trunk, Luna dragged it downstairs and into the car. "Next stop," Luna's mom said, "Platform 9 3/4!"
Smiling, Luna looked around. She had arrived at King's Cross Station with 20 minutes to spare. She walked over to the spot in between platforms 9 and 10. Deciding that she better see if someone else goes through the wall, she waited. "Come on Luna, why aren't you going through?" Her brother asked. "I don't want to crash into the wrong wall." She replied. After a few minutes, Luna saw a young witch and her family go through the wall. "Alright. Mum, dad, Franch, hold on!" Luna said as she charged straight for the wall.
Luna looked around, amazed. Looking up, she saw the sign that read Platform 9 3/4. She was amazed by how huge the Hogwarts Express really was. "Wow," her brother said. "It's amazing!" "I should probably get my trunk into a compartment," Luna said. "I want to find an empty one if I can." "Okay sweetie." Her mom said, and Luna turned and hugged her parents and little brother, with tears in her eyes. She turned back to the bright red train, which was shooting out smoke, and went inside. With some difficulty, Luna managed to heave her trunk up and into the train, and then drag it into an empty compartment. She waved to her parents and brother as the train started to leave the station. They waved back, her parents with tears in their eyes. "Next stop," Luna murmured. "The Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
