Halloween Party
Sonya was finishing up her cupcake when she spotted Ellara, who she recognized from theater club. Ellara made a teasing remark and Sonya giggled. "Hey there! Not yet," she replied with a small laugh. She had never really gotten a chance to talk to this girl, since she only really saw her theater club audition. She seemed pretty nice so far.Interacts: Ellara Butler
Sonya looked at Ellara's costume. She was dressed up as a witch! Funny, because they were actually witches. It was a creative ensemble, most likely thrown together on short notice. She remembered when she used to just throw together costumes with random bits and pieces she found in her closet and then preform an entire musical by herself in her room. Those were the good ol' days. "I love your costume," she complimented Ellara with a smile.
Sonya gazed around the room for a quick second. It had begun to fill up quickly, with many students in small groups in discussion. She both hated and loved crowds. She hated it when she didn't have anyone to be with in a crowd because that just felt so lonely, but she loved being social and finding friends in a crowd. In conclusion, she was really glad Ellara had come up to her. "How are you enjoying the party?" Sonya asked.

Ellara took a bite of her pumpkin pasty, making something along the lines of an, "Mmm," as she bit into it. Definitely one of her favorite treats so far. Setting the remainder of the dessert onto an empty plate, she couldn't help but laugh at Sonya's response, feeling likewise about the notion that the two girls simply had never gotten the chance to talk enough! They had enough in common... Both liked to sing (or so she presumed, considering Sonya was the head of the club), both were Hufflepuff First-Years, and they both were red-heads! Why shouldn't they be friends?
As Sony complimented her costume, Ellara searched for truth on the girl's face, admitting, "Do you really think so? It was a bit thrown together last minute, but honestly, I was really worried I'd offend someone. Don't really want to participate in cultural appropriation, you know?" That thought hadn't occurred to her until she'd stepped into the ballroom, but if Sonya thought it was nice, it was probably fine! They were eleven, after all. No one was going to have a panic attack about it.
El watched as Sonya's gaze flitted around the space, no doubt taking in the throngs of students interspersed throughout the room. A lot of them stood or sat at various tables just like the two girls did, conversing in groups and sharing treats. However, there were also a lot of them out on the dance floor, and with the magical music sweeping through the hall, the glow of the decor, and the sheer fact that they had the opportunity to do so, Ellara decided she wanted to participate.
Upon Sonya's question about the ball, Ellara answered, "I'd definitely have to say it's not too shabby, but you know what would make it even better?" She paused, grinning while she gave Sonya a chance to reply. "If Cinderella actually got a chance to dance at the ball. Come on! It'll be fun!" She stood up and pulled on Sonya's arm, coaxing her over to the dance floor.

Halloween Party
[Interacting with @Serena Towers]
'I'm in Slytherin, actually. Not really what I had hoped for but.. I'm slowely accepting it.' She really wanted to be in Gryffindor. She heard so many stories and wished she could've been in one of those stories one day. But... That dream got quickly swept under the carpet. 'What about you?'
Nico was a bit surprised by her question, if she was happy here in Hogwarts. Her smile faded as she glanced at her feet. She chuckled abit nervous, quickly putting a smile on her face again. 'I'll be honest with you... It's been rather scary.. It still kind of is. But i'm really excited to be here! I just... don't have alot of friends. Let's say.. I only have one friend. And he's a Gryffindor.'
When the girl mentioned she'd really love to have a onesie, Nico her eyes lit up. For her, onesies were like walking comfortzones. Since they didn't stick tightly to your body, it gave you a false sense of walking around in your bed... or something. In anyway, it helped Nico to step out of her comfortzone IN a comfortzone. 'I actually have a unicorn and a bat onesie aswell. But since I love sharks, I can't help but love this one.' She couldn't keep her excitement under control and gave Serena a twirl. Her floppy shark head wooshed around. Her dorsal fin and tail, blew a bit of air onto Serena. 'Oh sorry...' She smiled abit embarassed. 'If you want, I wouldn't mind to let you keep one, like if you'd want to be comfortable but still fashionable at the same time at your dorms. I don't mind at all.' Finally, Nico flapped her arms up, revealing the small fin details on her fins.
She looked over at the foodtable, she got all excited since the conversation was going so well. She just made a new friend, from scratch. Hogwarts didn't seem that much scary anymore.
'I'll be honest, Serena. I LOVE food, and they made everything look delicious and scary at the same time!'
You're gonna need a bigger boat

Sonya listened to the girl talk about her costume. "It's great, really," she assured Ellara. The girl was worried about wizards getting upset over her costume, but Sonya knew most people wouldn't even bat an eye at it. The only people that might see something wrong with it was certain prejudiced purebloods, but hopefully nobody would say anything. After all, it was a party and hopefully everyone had come in high spirits and wouldn't start any trouble.Interacts: Ellara Butler
Ellara then commented on the ball and Raised an eyebrow when she asked about making it even better. To that, Sonya raised her eyebrow and tilted her head. Ellara then recommended dancing. Her face lit up. "Yes!" she exclaimed and went with the girl without a fight. She positively loved dancing and practically skipped out onto the dance floor.
On the dance floor it wasn't' too crowded. It being a bunch of younger students, lots of them were too nervous or shy to dance around others. Sonya being Sonya wasn't afraid of other's judgement at all and began to bounce to the beat. They were playing Halloween classics, which Sonya loved. She began to get more and more energized. "You like Halloween music?" she asked Ellara.

Ellara beamed at Sonya's praise and happily moved off to the dancefloor, unsurprised when the Head of the Theater Club came right in tow. Naturally, as this was a school event, the main floor was relatively empty. Small throngs of 11, 12, and 13-year-olds - depending on what time of year their birthday was - conversed together in small groups, occasionally swaying to the various beats. The whole night was simply spooktastic, and she was elated to have the opportunity to share it with a friend, even if at this point, Sonya was just a mere acquaintance. It was weird to think she'd be spending the next seven years of her life with this girl.
Elle bounced along with Sonya, never one much for coordination. Still, she didn't mind! She'd rather have fun making a total fool of herself, than miss out on something, and regret it later on in life. She only ever got the opportunity to do things once, and when that chance was missed, she'd never received it again. After her mum died, she promised herself she wouldn't live a life of "what-ifs".
Ellara continued to move to the beat, doing her best to match Sonya's enthusiasm, and a conspiratorial grin appeared on her face, as a waltz in 3-3 began to play. "Cinderella, it seems fitting you get a chance to dance the waltz, does it not?" She'd never tried one before, but she always remembered movies and books reminding people about one-two-three and moving in a sort of triangular formation. Hopefully, Sonya would lead, if she accepted!

Elijah was no longer in a good mood, mainly because not one, but two people were talking to him. He was tired despite the highly caffeinated tea, cold despite his onesie, and perfectly happy despite being alone. There was, however, a massive difference between being alone and being lonely, a difference that not many people thought to stop and consider. It shamed him to admit that he was part of the human race, sometimes.
First of all, his posture. His body language. His arms were folded over his chest, straight-up screaming Don't talk to me to everyone around him. His hood was pulled low over his head, obscuring everything but his lips and chin from everyone else's view. He leaned back against the wall in a quieter corner of the ballroom, and wasn't looking around the room hopefully like the other washouts around him were. His entire aura screeched indifference, and if you managed to duck and peer into his eyes, his glare read leave me alone. To be honest, it had been working. No one had dared come and approach him in the past ten minutes, and that beautiful winning streak was just ruined by two Ravenclaw girls.
Ember Jones immediately asked his name, and babbled on and on about absolutely nothing... sneering, Elijah simply answered with his name. "I'm Elijah." You would've thought that such a cold response wouldn've driven the girl away, but another Ravenclaw came by to stay and chat for a while, apparently. He recognized her, at least, as Tina Addington.
He barely acknowledged her, however, and he let the two Ravenclaws chat away in front of him. Letting his gaze wander across the room, his vision settled on and honed in on a blonde Slytherin, presumably older than he was. She was rather beautiful, from a scientific point of view- elegant features, a confidence with which she held herself, and a sharp intelligence that lay in her eyes.
Another girl caught his eye, but this time, for an entirely different reason. He wanted to run over to Rosie and scoop her up in a hug, but he felt like that would've been a) extremely awkward and b) extremely out of character, especially for someone like him. Thus, he would only let his eyes linger for a brief moment before pulling away, focusing back in on the conversation happening right in front of his nose.
He didn't care for the topic at hand, and only listened for the time being. Finally, as there was a small lull in the conversation, he butted in rather rudely. "Who's that girl with the blonde hair, over there?" he asked quietly, nodding inconspicuously at the blonde girl he had seen before. "She looks so familiar... help me out, here?"
ReducioI promise you that I'm not as mean as Elijah, and am trying to only act how he would. I sincerely apologize for his awful behavior on his behalf.

Halloween Party
[quote][font=bodoni monotype]
October wasn’t over yet so being half German, it meant that Oktoberfest wasn’t over for her. Besides, not many Germans celebrated Halloween. The girl came with a drindl, a traditional German dress. She intended to use it earlier in the month when her Mother would take her to the actual Oktoberfest in Munich. To her dismay, that didn’t happen. So Aurelia decided to use the dress for the costume party.
The dress was in a gorgeous blue color. Aurelia didn’t understand when a few students passed her complimenting on ther dress saying it was a nice Alice in Wonderland’s dress. Sure, the brunette had watched the muggle movie but her dress was a drindl and Alice’s wasn’t so it resembled nothing like hers. Perhaps it was just Aurelia being simply German.
The last time Aurelia had been to the ballroom was during the blossom ball and standing outside of its gigantic door of the ballroom brought up some bad memories. It made her uneasy when she stepped through the threshold. The room was obviously Halloween themed with pumpkins and skeletons hanging all around the place.
Aurelia glances around the room and disappointed she was when she couldn’t spot any of her friends. They were most likely in the common room enjoying the warmth of the fireplace. Aurelia must as well be there too if she hadn’t the Gryffgazette Events column to write. Apparently for many students, Halloween was a big event and Aurelia would get the most information if she was there herself, save the trouble of all the interviews The girl just hoped that there wasn’t another Charles York around.
Aurelia found a few familiar faces around. That included Alexx, Elijah and Ellara. Aurelia had met Ellara only recently and she didn’t like the experience of giving advice to a first year who cried about her troubles. Now that she assumed the problem was settled, Aurelia wanted nothing to do with her for it didn’t seem like she’d benefit if she did.
Aurelia could consider Alexx a Friend for she had invited her to a sleepover but Alexx seemed like she was busy at the moment but due to the girl possessing a threat with those blue eyes, Aurelia wanted to stay a distance away. Then there was Elijah in a onesie and from the looks of it, he seemed uninterested with the conversation he was stuck in. From what Aurelia knew, Elijah was from a wealthy pureblood family and purebloods didn’t leave in the middle of a conversation because it was considered impolite, at least that was what Aurelia herself was taught.
The most she could help him with was to make the conversation slightly entertaining and so she approached them. Aurelia couldn’t help but notice that the boy looked in Alexx’s direction and soon after ask the two girls about her. Aurelia took this as an advantage to slip into the conversation.
“Alexx Helm. Her parents are famous it’s not a surprise that you’d find her familiar. ” Aurelia stated. Apparently Alexx’s parents were famous for being deatheaters, it was still a half truth.

Tina let Elijah be since she knew that sometimes people needed to be alone, because they spent too much time around people. She stole one last glance at him before focusing her attention towards Ember. She tend to ramble, but she didn't really mind since it meant she wouldn't have to talk so much. Unfortunately, she started to zone out and began thinking about the other parties that they would hold at Hogwarts. Would she even want to attend them? She liked people, but sometimes she felt as if she didn't know them or couldn't trust them. Some were very open and others were more reserved, but how could she know if she could trust them?Interacts: @Elijah Huang @Ember Jones

"Oh, I liked the part when she's singing through the town, even though they all think she's weird. I love how she keeps doing her thing and doesn't care what people think of her. What was yours?" She says, passionately, rejoining their discussion. She hoped she didn't notice her fade out of their conversation, especially since she never done that before. Perhaps she was getting tired. That's when she hears Elijah speak for the first time, asking about a girl with beautiful blond hair. Tina says, "I think her name is Alexx and I hear she's a veela."

"I'm Elijah" the tall Slytherin in the Eeyore onesie uttered in a bored, grumpy tone that made it clear he didn't want to keep on talking. Ember was taken aback by this unexpected behaviour, her eyebrows narrowed until they were in close danger of permanently growing together. She tried to recall why she had spoken to Elijah in the first place. He had seemed a little standoffish, yes, but she had taken it as shyness, not as the rudeness that clearly showed in his speech. And she liked his costume. How could anyone dressing in a colourful Eeyore onesie be that bad?
Eeyore was a bit sad and depressed, she reminded herself. It had been a while since she had last read the stories. But this fact still couldn't offer a reason for the boy's inexplicable rudeness.
Shrugging, she turned away from him and started chatting to Tina - about the ball, their costumes, films... "Oh, I liked the part when she's singing through the town, even though they all think she's weird. I love how she keeps doing her thing and doesn't care what people think of her. What was yours?" Tina said happily. Ember opened her mouth to answer as Elijah suddenly spoke up again, interrupting the two girls - again, rather rudely. "Who's that girl with the blonde hair over there?", he asked gruffly. "She looks so familiar... help me out, here?" Ember groaned a little as she turned her head and recognized "the girl with the blonde hair" immediately. Tina already answered, but
Ember already had the words slipping from her tongue in hot, fiery temper. "That's Alexx. Your prefect", she said, then, with a scowl at Elijah: "Shouldn't you at least know your own house's prefect? By the way, she's in a conversation at the moment, but as you have no problem butting into any while other people are talking, that should be not important to you." She scowled once more, then turned back to Tina.
Don't you dare mess with me!

It was as if the Ravenclaw hadn’t even acknowledge her presence and provided an answer even though Aurelia had already done so. Intentional or not, the possible reasons for her attitude had bothered Aurelia that first, she was not aware about what was going around her and second, the girl was doing it on purpose.
Was the Ravenclaw actually legitimate in thinking that Alexx Helm was a Veela. Sure she had blonde hair but that was basically all. Aurelia had came across a few not so logical Ravenclaws, and it was clear that there was another one right in front of her. “Alexx is not a Veela, I assure you. During my first year, she got upset but she did grow a beak. Neither do I think she has a charm of one. ” The girl explained calmly. A Veela tend to automatically get on the good side of people and Aurelia has witnessed Alexx getting on the opposite.
Aurelia was taken aback when the other Slytherin had snapped at Elijah like the other girl, the Slytherin hadn’t bothered to even look in her direction and ignored her as if she wasn’t even there. What were the two girl thinking in insulting a pureblood and ignoring the other? There was a noticeable scowl on the Slytherin’s face.
“Excuse me, not the whole school has to know everybody. It’s only been a month since Alexx had became prefect. I believe you’re referring to me butting into conversations?” The girl’s tone was assertive like always when she wanted to rub a point into somebody’s head. The Slytherin was indirectly referring to Aurelia even if unintentionally when she had stated that Elijah ‘had no problem butting into conversations’.
