The last few days have, quite frankly, been completely and utterly surreal. Robin isn't really entirely sure how to articulate her feelings over everything that has come to light under such a short space of time. Her entire life, as she knows it, has just been turned upside down. She was, apparently, a Witch, and in just a few months she would be away to some magical school called Hogwarts in the Scottish Highlands to learn magic. Growing up in the foster care system, it came as second nature to never get too comfortable somewhere because you didn't know when you'd be uprooted and moved to another home, but after being adopted Robin could finally have a space that she called home, and only after a few years she was expected to move away again? Sure, the Professor that explained everything to her told her that she could come back to visit during the holidays, but that simply wasn't the same. She'd miss her father and sister so much. And she wasn't entirely sure how to deal with it.

It had taken her a couple of days to come to terms with being magical, and she still wasn't entirely comfortable with it, but she had finally built up the courage to go to Diagon Alley for the first time. She wasn't in a hurry to purchase her school supplies, since she had plenty of time before school actually started, but she wanted to get familiar with the place before it inevitably became bustling with other students buying their own supplies. It was, admittedly, quite a marvellous sight upon arrival. The three of them had spent most of the morning exploring (after realizing that they had to exchange what they call 'Muggle' currency for Wizarding currency at the bank) and Robin became more accustomed to this secret world that was only a doorway or two away from their own world. She had to pinch herself multiple times to make sure this wasn't just a really long dream.

"Magical Menagerie... do you think Hoggywarts allows pets?" Her father asked as they stopped outside one of the shops they hadn't yet visited. It was a pet shop - a quick glance in the window would confirm. She even spotted an entire row of owls in cages, all hooting happily as they waited to be adopted by a loving owner. Robin couldn't really imagine having an owl for a pet, those were animals that she'd never even thought of having as a pet. It would take her quite a while to get used to Wizarding World customs, if this was normal to them.

She chuckled in disbelief at her father before correcting him, "It's Hogwarts, dad. And remember what the Professor told us? You can have pets at Hogwarts."

"Hogwarts. Right," he nodded to himself, "well, let's go on in then."

Robin looked at her dad, her mouth dropping slightly in surprise, "Go in? Why?" There was no way he would suggest getting a pet, right? Did they have enough money to spend on one? Did she really deserve a pet? Honestly, she still wasn't used to being able to get something she wanted if she merely asked for it. She was even more unused to someone suggesting that they buy something for her, without her having to do anything for it.

Arthur stared at her like she had grown three heads, "Well, do you not want a pet to bring to Hogwarts? I was only thinking that, you know, maybe you'd feel lonely for the first few days and a pet could help but, if you don't want one then we can head home."

A massive smile spread across Robin's face as she bounced excitedly on the balls of her feet, "Oh really? Really? Thank you! Thank you!" She hugged her father excitedly, who returned the hug before sheepishly ushering them all into the shop. They were greeted by the shopkeepers, who were an old couple who looked incredibly kind and welcoming, but Robin was more in awe with all of the animals surrounding her. She couldn't believe that she would be able to buy one of these pets and take it home with her. Take it to Hogwarts with her. Her own pet.

"Can I get an owl?" Her sister, Daphne, asked as she stared longingly at one of the white snowy owls hooting happily in its cage.

"I don't know how we'd explain having an owl in the house, sweetheart." Robin heard her father reply but she was too entranced by the bunnies in the shop to hear the rest of the conversation. Maybe having a bunny was quite a lame choice of pet, considering there were so many cool pets in the shop, ranging from pink fluffy creatures that were apparently called Pygmy Puffs, to ferrets, and of course owls, but Robin loved bunnies. They were so cute and adorable, and so, so fluffy. One particular one had caught her eye, and she knew already that this was the one she wanted. It was very small, so small that it would probably fit in her pocket, its fur was a beautiful grey color, and it was so fluffy, Robin imagined that this was how a cloud felt. The bunny was hopping about in its cage, almost as if it could sense it would soon get a new home.

Arthur and Daphne eventually came over, the latter frowning in defeat after failing to convince their father to let them have an owl at home. "Have you found the one you want?" Her father asked, and Robin nodded enthusiastically in response. She pointed at the bunny she wanted and they called one of the shopkeepers over. The lady was only a tiny bit taller than Robin but she had the type of look that made anyone feel instantly comfortable around her, like a grandmother. She gave her immediate approval at Robin's choice in animal and after taking them through how to properly care for the Mist Hopper, her father handed over the Galleons and the bunny was Robin's. She was even given a sugar cookie by the lovely lady before leaving the shop.

"What are you going to name him?"

"Hm," Robin trailed off in thought for a few minutes, chewing the sugar cookie before answering, "I think I'll name him Cosmo."

"Like Cosmo and Wanda?"

"No," she laughed, knocking her shoulder playfully against her sister's, "I just like the name! It's a cute name, okay? His name is Cosmo, and he is the cutest thing ever." And he was her bunny. No one else's, though she'd definitely let Daphne play with him from time to time during the holidays. But for the majority of the time, this little bunny belongs to her, and she wasn't required to share him.
