Nichlas was dressed somewhat casually, some might call it business casual if they were to use the official term. He was making his way through Diagon Alley with the intention of finding his way back to his room. The swede was definitely eye catching, handsome and tall. But there was also something about him that just seemed off and people around him seemed to be noticing it as well. Almost as if he was judging everyone around him without even paying them any attention. His presence and the way he carried himself made him just a tad bit unapproachable and life was fine for him like that. He was used to it and embraced this trait of his. However there was one thing in this moment that was bothering him.
Nichlas Forsberg was no fan of hot weather and heat waves. He had arrived a bit ago, so that he might have some alone time before subjecting himself to the torture of summer camp. He probably would not have agreed to go, if it wasn't for an agreement with one @Nicholas McCowan he had made one year prior. Nichlas was not one to let a challenge go unanswered and so he would put himself through this. Usually he had come because of Ella, but his little sister had no more interest in it. He was unsure what was going on in her life, but he no longer cared either. He didn't care much about anyone at this point. There was this thing going on with Greta, but even that had become less tempting without his little sister around to make it difficult. He did like Greta to the extent he had liked her from the very beginning. It had always been flattering to see the way she admired him, without him actually having to do anything to remain in her good favor. The last year had troubled him, especially when during summer he had decided to lash out at someone for trying to meddle with what Greta and he had. What he had in theory, as Greta didn't have him back. But this boy was still a thorn in his eyes and he hoped he had learned his place.
Nichlas frowned in distaste at the long queue in front of the ice cream parlor, though the thought of ice cream in such a weather was quite tempting. Would he bother? Watching as a child ran out the parlor with a huge scoop of ice cream in a cone was enough convincing he would have needed and he made his way over. His hands were shoved into his pockets, but he remained straight and even with this there was just something that gave an intimidating impression to many close by. A few heads had turned and the kid that had just left the store made a curve around him to avoid his judgmental frown. He didn't really care either way. He hoped that the room he had checked in was not facing the midday sun, because he would demand a different room if that were the case. Now he had to wait, another thing he didn't quite like doing.

With her newly brought wizarding chess set in hand Samantha skipped the long line and entered the ice cream place as her eyes searched the store for her dad. She found the man sitting at a table close to the window through which he stared eagerly at the busy streets of Diagon Alley and quickly made her way over to him. "Hi dad," she spoke up, trying to get her father's attention. "Look what I got!" she said proudly as she showed her chess set.
After chatting with her dad a bit, which mainly existed out of her dad telling her about all the astonishing things he had seen the cool magical people do and the brunette getting embarrassed at the simple things her dad was so amazed by, they agreed that Samantha would order their ice cream as her dad would stay at the table so they didn't lose their spot to sit. The young prefect made her way outside to the back of the extremely long queue while counting the money her dad had given her. When noticing her dad had given her 3 galleons and 9 sickles, she giggled a little finding his ignorance about the wizarding currencies extremely entertaining.
Even after 2 years, her dad was still clueless about so many magical things and during every break, he still asked her thousand of questions about the magical world she mostly lived in. Having a muggle family was quite the challenge for the young witch as none of her family members could help her with anything regarding school or understood what she was talking about most of the time. On top of that came the lying to muggle friends and distant family, which caused the brunette to sometime wish her family were wizards instead of clueless muggles.
The queue was long and so was the wait, especially when people didn't know which ice cream they wanted and stood there like idiots trying to decide which flavor to get. Samantha wasn't going to let that happen to her and decided she would already pick out her flavors before it was her turn to order so nobody had to wait for her. She clutched the coins in her hand as she tried to peek at all the flavors but her view was blocked by a taller boy with dark blonde hair. Leaning to the left and standing on top of her toes, the girl was able to get a glimpse of most of the flavors but some were still hidden behind the tall boy. If she could have just moved a bit more to the right she would have been able to see what kind of flavors there were but if she did move to the right she would probably lose her spot in the queue and she didn't like that idea at all.
There was something weirdly intimidating about the boy and at first, Samantha wasn't planning on asking him anything as he didn't seem in the mood for a nice conversation but she just had to know what kind of flavors were hidden out of her sight as it might be the best flavor ever. "Hello," she said as she gently tapped the boy on his shoulder. "Would you mind moving a bit to the left so I can see the ice cream flavors? Or you could tell what they are!" she told the other as she gave him a little smile. Feeling like a tiny dwarf, she looked up at the tall boy whose vibe was almost the complete opposite of hers.

Nichlas wasn't known to be a patient lad and yes it had come to mind to send a simple stinging jinx to the family in the front of the queue taking an awful long time to pick their choice of dessert. He was however not able to finish contemplating that thought, when a voice from behind him spoke up. For a split second as he was turning around, he imagined seeing Ella. Though who could fault him for the thought? A smallish looking girl with brownish locks and soft features. Nichlas raised an eyebrow pointedly at the girl, who had this confusing appearance and asked in his thick Swedish accent. "You can't see?" he asked, as he moved to make her enough space to step forward. "I believe they must have all flavors in the world, why else would that family with the barn take such time to choose," he muttered.
When the family at the front of the queue finally did pay for their ice cream, with the kid choosing chocolate of all things after taking so long to make a decision, the boy from Durmstrang gritted his teeth slightly. He was fourth in line now, so that should be alright. To distract himself from the anger and annoyance bubbling up inside of him, he turned to the girl, with truly a remarkable resemblance to his sister and inclined his head slightly. "Can you see it now? The flavors?" Perhaps deciding to come into this ice cream parlous had been a bad decision after all, but it had been unbearably hot outside, that a cold treat had been on his mind all day, so who was he to deny himself to get what he wanted? He could deal with this annoyance later, after all there should be enough kids at Hogwarts looking to pick up a fight and he would be happy to teach them a lesson with a few hexes.

After the boy turned around, Samantha looked directly into his hazelnut eyes. The young girl didn't feel uncomfortable very easily but this boy was really intimidating and she quickly broke off the eye contact. This guy was taller than her dad! As the boy spoke, his words carried a thick unfamiliar accent. "Yeah, I cannot see it," she said with a little smile, "you are quite tall."
"Thank you," as soon as the boy moved, she took a good look at the board. Strawberry! Perfect! The girl didn't need to look any further, she had already picked her flavor. Even though there were many magical and original flavors to pick from, she went with the most boring one. The most muggle one. Strawberry ice cream was simply her favorite. Her grandmother would always give her and her sister chocolate and strawberry ice cream when they were visiting her.
Nodding in agreement, she listened to the boy complain about a family that took really long to decide what they wanted. "It is ridiculous that they take so long! They are holding up the line," she said a little frustrated. With this weather, everybody wanted ice cream so they better hurried up! "Also, what do you mean with a barn?" she looked up at the boy with a curious look on her face. There is no barn here, we aren't at a farm!"
"Yes, I have seen the flavors! Thank you very much for stepping aside," she gave the tall boy a thankful smile. "I am going to take strawberry, I might even take a waffle!" she shared happily, now clearly less bothered by the boy's intimidating aura. For some reason, his accent had made him a lot less scary to the young girl. "My dad gave me enough money for 50 waffles!" she exaggerated. "What are you going to take?"

A smug smile tugged at the corner of his lips at that, it was neither nice nor outright mean. He didn't really care for a stranger after all. "Yeah, I suppose I must seem tall for someone like you, kid," He offered, paying a second of attention to glance over the obviously younger girl. Though by how much was difficult to say, based on her height she could have very well been just preparing for her school journey. "You go to this school in Scotland? Hogwarts? Have you been sorted yet?", he asked, his Swedish accent thick as he spoke. Perhaps the worst thing for the other girl, if she had indeed been sorted already would be, that the question seemed sincere. For the foreign student she might as well have been a kid too young to visit a school at all. Then again, Durmstrang started at ten years old, which was once again a difference from the other wizarding school. Perhaps another thing that made their school superior, focusing on honing a child's magical capabilities as early as possible.
When she thanked him for stepping aside, he inclined his head in acknowledgment of having heard it, but did not deem it necessary a response. He wasn't really here for small talk after all. But it did indeed seem quite busy and letting his gaze wander around the parlour he was quick to notice there were barely any tables left and as the queue grew smaller, the number of tables dwindled. By the time the both of them stood at the front of the line there was only one table with available seating left.
He hadn't expected the conversation to go on, but he gave a polite smile, though it would fail to reach his eyes quite properly, as it lacked the sincerity. Though that was simply because it was polite, not because he had something against the girl personally. "I have seen the Berry Delight advertised outside the store, I figured I would give it a test," he offered in response, before offering his attention to the clerk behind the counter, giving them a smile. "I'd like the Berry Delight please, with raspberry flavor," His smile once more was quite polite, effortlessly charming as he took out his wallet and took out a single galleon, "And an iced coffee to cleanse the palate after all that sweetness," he added with an afterthought, though he had his order prepared since he had stepped inside the store. There was a distinct lack of pleasantries in his speech, that perhaps could be waved off as him being a foreigner. He stepped aside once more, waiting for his order to be finished, before paying and leaving to sit at the single left table, crossing his legs at his ankles. He gave his iced coffee a stir out of habit, before tugging a napkin into his shirt just in case there would be any spelling. One could never tell with ice cream in such weather after all.

She was unsure what to make out of the smile that played around the boy's lips. Maybe he just struggled with smiling and he was trying to be nice. Yeah, that must be it. As the young girl had pure intentions herself, she just assumed the other had too. Despite hating comments about her height, she giggled a bit at the other's words. "It's not just me! I think you are even taller than my dad!" she informed the boy as she glanced over to her dad. The older man was siting at a table, trying to see everything that was happening around him. It was like he was trying to soak up every bit of magic he could.
While happily nodding to his first questions, a offended look appeared on the brunette's face when the older student asked if she had been sorted yet. She wasn't a first year! Surely, she looked younger than she was but this was outrageous. Her eyes scanned his face for clues to see if he was joking or seriously believed she was that young. He seemed to genuinely think she was going to be a first year after break. "Yes, I am going to Hogwarts," she told him as she looked up at him. "And yes, I have already been sorted, two years ago. I am going to be a third year after this summer break and I am also a prefect," she said proudly. "Where are you from?" she asked him, genuinely interested in the boy's story.
As Samantha loved talking and meeting new people, she was quite disappointed when the boy didn't reply to her with words. They were stuck in this line anyway, they could just as well chat and get to know the other better, right? The tall boy was of great interest to her, because she had already noticed he was a foreigner. His accent had given it away. If there was one ting the brunette loved, it was learning more about other cultures. It was so fascinating to see how different people could live and think based on where they were born and who they were hanging out with a lot.
Oblivious as she was, the prefect didn't notice the other didn't like the conversation as much as she did. "The Berry Delight does sound interesting. Let me know if you like it or not. Maybe I will get it next time then," she replied with a soft smile. With great attention, she watched how the boy ordered and paid for his stuff. Soon all her focus was on ordering her own things and she didn't pay attention to the boy. When she had gotten her stuff, she noticed the boy had moved from where he previously was. She hadn't even asked him his name yet!
As her eyes scanned the shop, originally to find the boy, she noticed her dad waving at her. He had managed to claim a table for four people and was now trying to get his daughter's attention. With a sad smile, disappointed by the abrupt end of the conversation with the boy, she made her way over to her dad. "There you go," she said as she handed him the ice cream. "Why the long face, kiddo?" her dad asked her in Dutch. "Well, there was this nice guy I was chatting with in the queue but I forgot to ask his name and I couldn't find him after ordering because it is so busy here," she replied as she sat down. "Eat your ice cream and then we can look for him after," her dad told her with a little smile.
While eating her ice cream, the young girl looked around in hopes to find the boy. "Look, that's him!" she told her dad. "The one with his napkin tugged in his shirt," she giggled. After quickly eating her ice cream, which resulted in a brain freeze, she made her way over to the boy. "Hi," she greeted him again. "I didn't catch your name before. I'm Samantha Salwis," she introduced herself as she offered him her hand.

The Swede regarded the younger girl with a raised eyebrow, before following her gaze to a man sitting at a table already, her father. Perhaps he shouldn't have for the sake of the girl and any possibility of acquaintanceship with her, as the man she might as well had pointed out with her gaze, screamed of all that Nichlas wanted to keep away from all places magical. That awe and wonder in the man's eyes that he had heard so many stories of, a wonder that would turn so quickly into ugly feelings of fear and jealousy for what would never be theirs. Not to forget how each Muggle in the knowing would risk exposure to the world of those without magic. It was an awfully risky game to allow them to walk through their streets and learn of their secrets more than necessary. And despite the thoughts coursing through his mind like venom laced blades, his face did not betray him, features schooled into a polite mask. The very same thoughts battled with all his parents had thought him of keeping an open mind and regarding each as their own and offering acceptance rather than coldness. There had been many influences in his life that steered him one way or another, his parents once had worked hard to ensure he kept an open mind, but it all faltered once he stepped foot into Durmstrang and found friends that were powerful and had strong opinions, so he too had grown powerful and began to share some of said opinions. To an extent it was laughable and perhaps pitiful, but a young mind was quite easy to impress and impress him they did. "I see," was all that he had ultimately offered, as he offered her his most convincing smile he could muster in that moment. He was indeed taller than that Muggle would be, he could see it just by glancing at him, though he forced himself to look away from the man, not wishing to betray the mask of ease he had been putting on display.
With a twinge of amusement at the expanse of another, he listened as she overexcitedly jumped into explanations of being a third year going to Hogwarts. He made two observations in that moment, she was easy to rile up and liked to prove one wrong if one were to make a blatant assumption about her or her life. He was sure he could have find out quite a bit more if he had poked for information, but she was a young kid and he saw no reason as to why finding any sort of information from her would help him in any way. She was in a way just like any small kid or dog.
Once more her words offered no necessity to respond to her, because how would he care whether or not she went here again and would order the very same food he had just ordered. He wasn't one for unnecessary small talk with strangers, except of course when said small talk was necessary or would help his image thrive. They had parted ways then and he had no hurry to eat his ice cream, enchanting it with a Freezing charm to keep it from melting so that he could take his time with the treat, without it leading to a mess. His wand was now resting next to his bowl of ice cream and ready to be used again. When his coffee break was interrupted by the girl once more, he regarded her with a ounce of surprise. Apparently this encounter was not yet over and the possibility of questions and small talk irked him, but her courage to approach a stranger like this also intrigued him. Were the kids at Hogwarts taught nothing of caution? Or manners, for that matter as he regarded her hand. He didn't stand up for her, to greet her properly after all they had been standing earlier and that was that.
"The name is Nichlas Forsberg, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance," he offered, neither sounding sincere nor insincere. He didn't feel an extra effort was necessary nor did he think she would miss such a formality. So instead he took the hand, shook it as if he was used to such formality and then dropped it, all the while ignoring the intrusive thought that he should cast a quick Scourgify since he could only imagine that she had yet to properly wash her hands after eating her ice cream. The fact that she was done with her ice cream at all disturbed him, she must have gobbled it up without worry, his mind supplied.
ReducioIf she were to keep standing, ultimately he would have given a non-verbal motion with his hand for her to sit down across from him.
If she just leaves or sits down without being prompted just let the thread proceed normally lol...

Despite the fact that the reply she got for her comparison to her dad existed out of only two words and a simple smile, the young girl was happy with it. The fact that the guy was a foreigner made him so much cooler in her eyes. If he had also gone to Hogwarts, he would have definitely been less cool. The other thing that made him so much more interesting was his age, Samantha loved to talk to older people as it made her feel a lot more mature than she actually was.
To her disappointment, the boy ignored her question about where he was from and her smile faded a bit. " To which school do you go? Do they also have prefects there?" she tried to keep the conversation going as they stood in the line. "Or are you really old and don't go to school anymore?" He seemed about the same age as her sister, who was still going to high school, so she assumed he was still going to school too.
"Forsberg," she repeated the boy's last name as she shook his hand. Luckily for the older student, Samantha had eaten carefully enough not to have spilled ice cream on her hands and they were still clean. "I don't think I have heard that name before," she shared. After the gesture to sit down, the girl took place in the seat across from the boy. "What brings you to Diagon Alley?" she wondered. "Are you also here to shop for school supplies? I am getting my stuff for my third year. I am so excited for another year at Hogwarts! I hope to become a dueling captain this year as I love the sport. Are you in a sport?" she fried the questions at the boy. As she sat at the table, she regretted not eating her ice cream slower. It had been lovely and she hadn't taken the time to enjoy it. Maybe she could get something else? No, that would be a waste of money.

Nichlas gave a somewhat smug smile. "Prefects? No, those are only necessary for schools that don't know how to control their own students," he replied with a tilt of his head. "The noble Durmstrang Institute of course, figured you'd catch that by the accent," he replied, as if this reply had been obvious. To him it had been kind of obvious, he wouldn't have expected her to be so confused about this. But then again, she was still a little kid after all.
Nichlas was not very surprised when she admitted that she had not heard his name before, that was likely due to the fact she was living in the UK and not in Sweden or anywhere close to Durmstrang. The Swedish boy was pretty known among the other student and the Forsberg name was also one that was not easily overlooked unless one considered themselves a nonmagi. His gaze once more swept over to where the girls father was sitting. Clearly this was lost to someone like her however. "I am here to give myself a few days of peace before subjecting myself to the mercy of a bunch of kids from different schools gathering for that summer event your school tends to host every year," he drawled, before ending with a somewhat strained smile. "Someone has to ensure that sister of mine and her friend don't get themselves into trouble at every occasion." Nichlas regarded the girl for a moment, momentarily wondering if she too would attend the event.

The curious look in her blue eyes changed as soon as she realized the boy had meant his comment about prefects as an insult, which took her a few seconds to figure out. Before she could reply to his words, he informed her he was from Durmstrang, and her curiosity was sparked again. "What's Durmstrang like? Where is it? I have never been there and people are always so mysterious about the location!" she rambled, hoping to gain a lot of knowledge about the foreign and mysterious school from this conversation. "I heard people say it is always cold at Durmstrang," she recited the rumors she heard.
During the time when the foreign students were visiting, the Hogwarts students had been gossiping a lot and the brunette remembered a lot of the stories. If they were true, she didn't know but there was only one way to find out. "What do you think is the biggest difference between Durmstrang and Hogwarts? Have you been to Hogwarts? It is amazing! So if you haven't been there you should definitely visit," she shared happily. Maybe she could even show the boy around, wouldn't that be super cool?
"You are going to the summer camp?!" she asked as a look of pure happiness appeared on her face. "That's so cool," she added before the big smile ran away from her face. "I am not going, my parents don't want me to go. Last year I also wasn't allowed. So many of my friends talked about how amazing it was but I am not allowed to go," she glared over at her dad. Her mom had said that they already saw her so little and she couldn't go. Her father just wanted his daughter to be happy and would have allowed her to go, but her mom had made clear it wasn't going to happen.
"You have a sister?" she asked surprised. "I have a sister too!" she added happily, like it meant that they were best friends now because they both had a sister.
