Closed Lily Brown vs. Axyen Dragonclaw The Kind and The Brave

Axyen was excited, he was practically leaping into the air from excitement. Axyen got closer to where the fun would be happening. Axyen took his spot and with a smile got ready. He listened to Tristan explain how he would be moderating this round to ensure no cheating would take place. Axyen silently gulped as Tristan mentioned the horrible smell if Axyen lost, now he really couldn't lose, it'd just be terrible - embarrassing to run to the Hufflepuff Common Room in absolute shame while people could potentially laugh, even if Lily Brown lost, Axyen would feel bad for her, just because of how embarrassing it would probably be.

Axyen had to remain focused, he would be careful and aim his throws carefully, Axyen had no intentions of cheating - that's such being a poor sport, so Axyen thought for a moment, what throw would be best...? Axyen decided a careful throw might be the best course of action, he felt himself calculate the best way to throw and aimed, and threw the gobstone hoping for the best. This throw did take much more focus however as Axyen would need to perfectly aim the gobstone into the other, to hopefully give Axyen an advantage.

Tristan could feel the nervousness radiating off of Axyen. The threat of the disgusting smell must have worried him. Or perhaps the humiliation of losing. When Axyen focused on his gobstone, Tristan turned his attention to Lily. Lily was far more confident, nodding and acknowledging her competitor. Tristan allowed them both to get acquainted and looked away to write the score sheet down. However, unbeknownst to him, Lily cast the Steleus Charm on Axyen, causing him to start sneezing right when he was about to throw. As Tristan turned back, he saw Axyen’s gobstone fall short of the target, and fail to push out any of his opponent’s stones. Lily on the other hand, had a successful throw, arching through the air, hitting one of Axyen’s stone out the ring. He wrote down the results then announced, “The first round is over. As can be seen, Lily has won this round. As for your sneezing fit, I apologize, Axyen, do you perhaps have allergies? You both have seven stones to throw. Lily you have seven stones left in the ring, while Axyen you have six. As you have won the round, Lily, you will be going first for the next round.

Axyen was frustrated, that just wasn't possible, because he doesn't have many allergies, not out here anyways. "N-no!" Axyen said as Tristan asked Axyen if he had happened to have any allergies, but Axyen knew he didn't. Axyen looked at Lily who had a smirk, Axyen glared for a moment, she had to have cheated. Axyen had his own tricks, he was about to do something, but unlike Lily, he didn't want to cause discomfort, Axyen needed to think, he secretly took out his wand, he was going to do something to even the playing field a little bit - all while not harming anybody.

Axyen was going to try a different throw, he threw the gobstone in the air, and while Tristan wasn't looking, Axyen used this split second to take out his wand and quickly whisper "Flipendo!" Axyen was unsure on whether it would work, as he move his wand quickly, that was probably a record for casting a spell, but he would watch what happened next very carefully. Hopefully it would be enough to get that smug grin off of his opponent's face, Axyen was worried, he wasn't planning on cheating, but it was until his opponent cheated that seemed to get Axyen more fired up about the game, and this time, he was less nervous, more competitive, it seemed a bit of competition was all that it took to take away that shyness, and unleashed a competitive child in return, this could've been a fair match, but Lily ruined that.

The game seemed to be progressing pleasantly and quickly which pleased Tristan, as a too long game of gobstones would oft get boring quite easily. The day was passing quickly, only five minutes having passed since the start of the game. It was indeed the perfect timing, and thus he allowed himself to relax and look away as the other students began to plan their next moves. He considered strangely whether Edward would have liked the spray of liquid at the end for the loser. He smiled as the memory fluttered through his brain and made his slight liver happier. Something that made him more expressive than people at Hogwarts might have seen him. While this memory played in his head, both Lily and Axyen cast a spell, without his notice. However, Lily’s spell cast failed, while Axyen’s Flipendo successfully knocked out another stone. Tristan looked back at the board and noticed that there was a gobstone missing but he allowed it to pass as he did not see anyone cheat, explicitly. He narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out who cheated but to no avail. He watched as both threw their gobstones, Axyen’s catapult throw launching high in the air and beautifully bouncing Lily's stone out the ring. Lily’s throw also was a success as she threw a careful throw, opposite to Axyen. It was a perfect hit and it pushed out Axyen’s stone as well. Both had five stones on the board, and six to throw. Tristan announced, “I didn’t catch any of you cheating explicitly so I’m letting it go but if I should catch you next time, it is a penalty of losing a turn. You both are tied, and have six stones left to throw. Axyen, as your name is alphabetically before Lily, you will start first, next round.”

Axyen smiled with slight satisfaction as he watched his spell go off and hit a Gobstone he also saw Lily try to use a spell and fail. Axyen slightly laughed under his breath(whether this was because he was nervous or that Lily failed to cheat is unknown) as he decided that since Lily wanted to cheat to get ahead, Axyen would do the exact same thing, and to do that, he would do the same spell again. He listened to Tristan who might've suspected cheating, in truth, Axyen never wanted to cheat in the first place, but Lily cheated to get ahead and now Axyen was going to do the same thing.

Axyen listened to Tristan who said that this time Axyen will be going first, Axyen decided he would try a more casual throw, he felt his hand go to his pocket as he pulled out his wand, and he moved his wand and muttered under his breath "Flipendo." as Axyen hoped the spell would work, he focused on what Lily would do then quickly looked back at the result and could only hope for another great round out of this. Axyen preferred not to teach, but it felt like Lily really left Axyen no choice here.

Tristan narrowed his eyes as he got the feeling that cheating would occur once again. Personally, it was just another way to win, but he was a just and fair gobstone moderator so he could not tolerate such blatant disregard for the rules if he caught them. However, if they were able to hide their cheating well, he could not say anything about it. However, Tristan would be looking more carefully now than ever as he was certain Axyen’s stone had magically disappeared rather suddenly after all. Both were tied now in magical ways. Okay, Tristan knew they cheated but what could he do, he had not caught them and well, he couldn’t change the results back either. Once again, Axyen cheated unbeknownst to Tristan, and he succeeded at secretly casting another Flipendo. The spell successfully cast another stone of Lily’s off the ring. After such, he threw his stone however it went nowhere, knocking nothing off as it flew past the entire ring. However, perhaps lucky for Axyen, Lily’s throw went nowhere too. In the end, they were tied once more, four stones left each on the ring. Tristan narrowed his eyes again as Axyen should definitely not have four stones again but he had not caught Axyen red-handed so he could not say anything. He wrote down the results and announced Lily to go first.The game would end soon.

Axyen was ready for Lily to lose any moment, this was what happened when you cheated, after all. It became very clear to Axyen that magic was his strong suit, though he truthfully didn't feel good about it. Only if Lily knew how to play fairly... Axyen also had a strong suspicion that Tristan knew cheating was happening, or at the very least suspected cheating, by the way he narrowed his eyes, Axyen found it easier to look at board rather than looking at Tristan. Axyen just needed one more turn... one more chance. Axyen... you need to focus... Axyen told himself, as he got ready. He grabbed his wand and whispered the incantation that he has been using repeatedly. "Flipendo." Axyen whispered, as he moved his wand, and this time he would go for a throw that would hopefully be beneficial to Axyen.

Axyen was nervous, he didn't want to watch the results, he wanted to see what Lily would do as Axyen expected her to try and cheat, though she didn't cheat last round(to Axyen's surprise), Axyen decided this would be the last time Axyen tried to cheat this match and he would play the rest fairly. The more Axyen thought about, the more he wondered how he didn't get caught in the action, not that he was complaining, but he wondered how close Tristan was to catching onto them, especially how close he was on catching onto Axyen cheating.

This could've been prevented, but Axyen has to win... I need to win, I just have to... Axyen thought to himself.
