Ryan flashed a slight smile and gave a wink at Felicity commenting that he was interesting. The smile quickly turned into a faint smile with him wishing he would die on the inside when she commented he was cheesy. Still he could not let that comment undermine the hint of progress they were showing in a relationship. Ryan looked at Felicity, and she was really red. The milky white skin he was used to see on her was no longer shown. As their hand lock was loosened, Felicity began to write, figuring out at that moment she was left handed.

This was a great thing since Ryan was right handed and he was sitting on her right side. So when both of them were writing their inner hands weren't busy. Ryan was a slight bit concerned about Felicity at this moment though. She fixed her hair, but could not change how Ryan was feeling at the moment. He completely stopped paying attention to class altogether, something that was uncommon for a Ravenclaw himself.

He leaned into her and put the back of his palm softly to her neck, speaking to her softly not to disturb the class or annoy the teacher.

"Weird you don't feel hot. Hey you are really red, are you ill, or maybe feeling a bit hot in this room? If you want you can go to the room and lie down, I'll stay and continue taking notes for us." He said realizing that it would be the most he could do for her.

After confirming the success of the spell Kevin once more returned to spinning his wand between his fingers. The girl's jab about a superior result proved haunting since it certainly seemed that he had to walk further to retrieve his wand. She didn't seem taller than him so he couldn't blame that...longer legs? Worse yet, what if it wasn't that the girl was strong and instead he was weak? Or did her voice being louder help her focus more? Given their successes compared to class failures nearby, he took solace in not being so weak or incompetent.

"Jordan," he briefly paused after his guess before responding to her second comment. "Given spells can be overcome just by flinging a stronger spell at it or having something else just get struck and suffer the effects for us. Is there really a need to just jump to the Shielding Charm that skillful users often use to deflect and reflect spells?" His brows rose and his hazel eyes widened at the girl's drive. Protego despite the simple verse and simple wand motions had a reputation for being shockingly difficult despite seeming so straightforward.

Though it was this kind of apparent drive that was making this girl so interesting. Certainly this wasn't his first encounter with a girl he'd label in such a manner at school. But she was definitely the first outside his House. A light of mischief flickered across his gaze as his face sprouted a grin at the thought of the potential fun.

Felicity could have sworn that she had never been so embarrassed. She had barely started actually being alright with talking to people outside of her family, and now she was stumbling around on the topic of talking to a boy. Somehow, she was just unable to do it. When she felt him touch her, she sort of recoiled, squeaking a little bit. She didn't know what the right way, exactly, was to act in that kind of situation. She coughed a little bit, and slid her notebook towards her, as well as her Defense Against the Dark Arts book. "Perhaps, I should, I feel like I may be getting a fever," She mentioned, smiling a little bit in his direction as she stood up.

She gathered her books into her arms, capping the end of her quill so that the ink wouldn't leak before slipping it into her pocket. It was a cheaper type of quill - she didn't feel the need to purchase the fancy type. "Perhaps I'll see you around," She said as a farewell with a sheepish grin, before she exited the classroom, twisting through the hallways to make her way not to the hospital wing, but instead to her Common Room. Defense Against the Dark Arts was the only class she really had that day, so she was safe to relax afterwards.

Done with this thread, buh bye xx

"Jordan."

"Nope." She shook her head.  "Incorrect. Try again," Jo responded, a ghost of a smile on her lips as she twirled the wand between her fingers. There was only a short list of possible answers unless he truly wanted to become creative.

Her lips pursed together, considering his response to her words. His opinion was a fair one but still, Jo was never one to backdown easy. "What is the harm in practicing the more advanced spells? It can only benefit you in the longterm." It would only serve to benefit her if she practiced more advanced magic, even if she didn't grasp it immediately she'd likely get there before her peers.

"What would you define as a stronger spell though?" She questioned him, completely serious. "From what I have read and understood—" which wasn't much yet, but it was enough to form a half-arsed argument if she delivered it with confidence, —couldn't a spells strength vary depending on the caster? So what might be strong spell for you mightn't necessarily be for me.  There was sound logic behind it, at least Jo thought. She shrugged delicate shoulders as she finished, giving him a polite smile before  sitting atop one of the desks.

She was genuinely curious as to what his response would be. "Or do you disagree?"

Kevin was used to be the one asking all the questions, and being on the receiving end of a series of questions for a period he found himself understanding why it could bother some people. However he was far from irritated or annoyed at Jo's questions - if anything it just served to further pique his interest in the girl.

Still he found himself counting his blessings at this particular series of questions since a less studious family would have resulted in him having nothing more than a shrug to offer. In fact, he really couldn't even consider himself well learned as things stood but he could at least attempt an answer.

"Well Joyce," he shamelessly continued the game of guessing her name in casual conversation. "There certain isn't any issue beyond the potential wrath of the Professor. So practice pro-TAY-goh all you want - though I've no memory of the want motion." Despite deliberately pronouncing out the spell the lack of wand motion resulted in no action. Though the second part was a lie, the wand required nothing more than a simple thrust or flick to act as a block or parry motion

The final bit required a little mental sorting and he held a finger up for pause while he pondered before answering. "Normally stronger would be defined as more advanced. But practical dueling if one were to break it down like a sport would say it falls under three big things: spell proficiency, magical skill, and raw power. Usually since a more advanced spells require more magical skill and without an especially large gap in power or proficiency in spells used that would be enough to turn the tide. So yes, there's a large amount of variation in results during even simple exchanges."

Ryan removed his hand off Felicity's face as she leaped back and hurried to leave the room saying she was on her way to the infirmary. To which Ryan had nothing left work wise once she was gone. He watched her leave the room in a hurry, and felt bad that she may have been feeling seriously ill judging by the speed she left. Upon her leave, he could keep up with the lesson again, however, there was something about her he could not get off his mind. On top of that he had returned to the lesson which was talking more of practicing, very hands on.

With every dip of his pen in the quill he would quickly think of her and he left hand writing on her own sheet of paper. Ryan looked at the empty chair next to him and realized he could not continue class without a partner.

Alone, and focused he jotted down more notes on the expelliarmus spell. As he looked around the class, he watched others giving it a try. He slipped his wand in his sleeve, and started to pack his stuff back up again as he made his way back to the hall. He felt terrible for Felicity's fever, and worse that he had no partner for the lesson anymore. He stood up, notebook and things in hand and made his way to the door.
"That's enough practice for me today, thank you for the lesson professor.

I will see you next class." He said as he left the room.

Kyden breezed into the room truly excited for Defense Against the Dark Arts. He just knew this class would help him defend against things in the search to find out what had happened to his parents. Maybe this class would make him realize things he hadn't before in finding out what had become of his parents. In all his other classes before this Kyden had sat in the back of the room and paid attention but not as attentively as he had planned on doing so in this class. He was please to discover that most of the front row seats where still available. He sat right up front and center, just in front of the Professor's desk. He took out the books he would be needing and his wand. He leaned back in the chair as he waited for class to start. Once class had started he eagerly began taking notes. Well if what he was doing was called taking notes it was more like he was writing down word for word everything the professor said. He quickly flipped to a page in the book as the professor said to and he looked up eagerly waiting for the next thing to happen. This was shaping up to be his favorite class.

Lex almost yipped when Arceus nudged him. After processing what the other said he nodded awkwardly. He decided to target the floor before actually casting this time. He aimed and tried to clear his mind again, but... he couldn't. There was a question nagging at the back of his head and it won't leave him alone. Lost in thought, he almost dropped his wand when he tightened his grip on it. Honestly, his tendency to zone out will probably get him one day. He mentally sighed at the thought, for it way quite likely. Maybe Arceus know the answer? It won't hurt to ask will it? He shook the thought away before trying to cast the spell again, only to be bullied by the same curiosity. The spell didn't work as he was not concentrating enough. 'Just try asking already.' he scolded himself for being a coward.

Turning to Arceus, while holding his wand with two hands, he asked "Hey... Arceus..." he paused, looking around just in case he wasn't supposed to be chatting. The others were doing the same while practicing so why not? "I was wondering... what is this spell for?" He examined his wand as he waited for an answer, not wanting to stare at Arceus until he does or stand awkwardly doing nothing. At least the question is out now and it's not bothering him anymore.

Owen pulled away, fiddling anxiously with his wand, finding the feeling of the etched wood in his hands helped him concentrate. He small sliver of guilt began to burrow into his mind, had he offended her on accident? She seemed embarrassed enough for that to be a possibility. Bringing himself back down to Earth he noticed that Erin had slid back into her chair, and was writing something down furiously. He slid his wand back into his pocket and looked her over with a face of concern one more time. Feeling a bit self conscious the the two of them were neither practicing nor standing admidst the sea of standing and practicing students, he nevertheless slid into the chair next to her. Beginning to jot down a couple notes on basic spell casting on his already messy parchment to kill time before the class end he found himself wondering if he should offer help, and if he would be able to do it a way that wouldn't be insulting, if he was able to do it. Speaking up, he said "Hey, I don't know if this would interest you, but if you wanted to get some extra practice outside of class I'd be fine with that."

Arceus watched as Leslez stood there, with his own wand gripped tightly in his hand and then when Lez stopped and asked what it was used for he was actually a bit surprised that Lez didn't know but didn't say anything because that would just be plain rude. "Oh... well" he stopped a bit to think carefully about his answer wanting to make it as clear as possible "Well, It's mainly a disarming spell, it can either make your opponents wand fly out of their hands or it could also just send your opponent flying, does that make sense?" He asked and after he finished answering he moved back, to give Lez some space "Now, stop stalling and try already!" He said grinning "I know you can do it, just clear your mind, it's not that hard!"

He didn't want to be in the way so he went to the table he was previously sitting at, grabbed his chair and carried it back to where Leslez was standing. He placed the chair on the ground and lopped himself onto it.  "Go, Leslez!" He said quietly, he knew it wouldn't help but he felt nice cheering for his friend and for all he knew it might give Lez the motivation to manage "You can do it!"

Have a nice day and peace out..
