Thanks! Honestly I feel like I could've fit any house and I wouldn't be mad about it. Sometimes I can act like a Ravenclaw, sometimes I can act like a Slytherin, sometimes I can act like a Gryffindor, but the sorting hat knew best to put me into Hufflepuff, since I mainly act like a Hufflepuff.

I'm definitely a Ravenclaw. I wouldn't say I'm exceptionally smart, but I love reading and I'm always up for a challenge. However, I think I have similar traits as Hufflepuffs and Slytherins often do. Maybe not Gryffindors. They're all brave and I'm... less so. But, yeah. I think I make a good Ravenclaw.

You definitely make a great Ravenclaw! The sorting hat thought to put you into Ravenclaw since it'll fit you best. And the sorting hat thought to put me into Hufflepuff since it fits me best. But isn't the hat old? I wonder if it'll get replaced or not. What d'you think?

Dear Mark,

I think that the age of the Sorting Hat is an important factor. The older you get, the wiser you get because wisdom is basically experience, right? We want the most wise thing or person or whatever the Sorting Hat is for the ceremony so everyone gets put into the right house.

You are right. So I guess the sorting hat will always be around, unless someone decides to do something bad to it like how Voldemort was going to burn into during the last wizarding world. But, hopefully nothing bad will happen to the hat, cause then Hogwarts will need something to replace the hat.

Yup, let's hope nothing bad happens. Fingers crossed. How do you think one would go about replacing the Sorting Hat anyway? It's a magical item, but has a mind of its own. So would it be considered an item or a creature? I think of it as something in between, but that's not really too specific.

I guess they could replace it with another hat that looks like the sorting hat? The sorting hat has been charmed to be able to speak, so pretty much its a talking item, unless that makes no sense. But it could also be in-between, like you said. But I do think the hat is more like an item then a creature.

I suppose the fact that the Sorting Hat is a hat makes it an item, but the charm that allows it to speak kind of messes up my logic. It has a mind of its own, which is clear because it chooses which house each Hogwarts student belongs to. So is it really an object? Well, I'll see you later, so I guess this is our last letter.
