Voulez-Vous, Ain't No Big Decision

1The question is, do you want?He sat in the Defense Against The Dark Arts classroom, just staring straight at the wall. He had nothing else to do at the moment, except to feel like he needed to glare at someone profusely. He wasn't much of a fan of people, but there was a way for him to obtain his attention- to divert it from something- and that was to draw attention away from him. He propped up the Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook and on the table in front of him. He read through the pages, and finally found a spell that intrigued him for today.
Something would've given him the interest he didn't think he would've needed for that day. Consider it a random spark of motivation that was non-existent to those who badger/look for it. He saw a picture of a boggart and felt like he needed to recoil. It looked, to the boy, bloody horrifying.
"Voulez-Vous, take it now or leave, now is all you get. Voulez-Vous." He whispered to himself as he felt his eyes going wide reading the page. Who the hell would've allowed Boggarts to exist? Especially when they could prove to be a doppleganger of what you're truly scared of. And Clark knew what he was scared of.
The Great Lake and what lies deep down inside. However, he wasn't sure how the Boggart would portray that, nor how he could potentially banish the Boggart, but he had to at least let the thought reside inside his mind, in case he ever needed to use the spell.
Okay, so, the steps to banishing a boggart, is to think about something funny while casting the spell- which seems to have the incantation of 'Riddikulus". It has to be funny, for some reason, as Boggarts seem to find weakness in laughter. But while casting, you also have to basically provide a wand movement which seems to sort of give the idea that you're throwing the boggart into the pit, as the wand movement basically looks like a pit.
So, he figured he might as well try it at least once before all eyes are on him. Well, he was in the classroom, so why wouldn't eyes be on him?
"RIDDIKULUS!" He proclaimed loudly, proceeding to make the ever-so-elegant wand movement of a short horizontal line, a sudden dip, a straight horizontal line, a spike, then a short horizontal line once again. The pit was made, and the incantation was said. Now, the boy had no access to a Boggart, and he sure as hell didn't want to talk to another teacher and attempt to piss them off just to try and learn a new spell.
But he had no choice but to do that. He needed to face his fear. And what was he so afraid of? He tremored, beginning to regret even trying to learn the spell. He knew it was a Boggart, but what he was scary. So scary, that Clark even begun to back away.
It was- it was- oh it was too terrifying! IT WAS WATER! He screamed; he was terrified of drowning. But, he knew what he needed to do, and what was that again? Go bibbity boppity boo? No. He took a quick breath, in between his hyperventilation, and bellowed. "RIDDIKULUS!"
He thought about the water with a bit of gold in it, something he found funny. Flecks of gold all throughout the incoming wave of water. It was odd, but gold seemed to be his breaking point- something that made him joyful and in certain situations laugh. But that wasn't all, there was a face of some sort coming towards him- on the water- like it was a mask that you'd get for Halloween. (reference image- x) It was the straw that finally made him crack and giggle and quickly rise to cackling out in joy. The boggart, to Clark's eye, seemed to be banished now- and he smiled. The Boggart had gone back into the container it had come from. Perfection at it's finest.
"Voulez-vous, take it now or leave it. Now is all we get. Nothing promised, no regrets. Voulez-vous, ain't no big decision. You know what to do. La question c'est Voulez-vous.1

No biggie. He would find himself back in the classroom, relooking at the textbook, bored with the boggart banishing spell. He was there to now learn about a new spell, something he heard that could've been considered remotely similar to the disarming charm- that they were taught in their first year... Expelliarmus.
But that was odd. Why wasn't it taught in his First year then? Why later in the years? Regardless, Clark just continued to look through the textbook, seeing more and more of a desire within himself to use the Revulsion Jinx. Perhaps he could find a way to use the spell to his own advantage- such as... well- that would've been a little hard to consider, especially now that he found that he couldn't use the spell to disarm people.
The difference between the Revulsion Jinx and the Disarming Charm was unfortunately that with the disarming charm, it only worked with living people/objects. And with the Revulsion jinx, it only worked with inanimate objects. How unfortunate was that? What if he truly wanted to use the spell to disarm people of their wands in the middle of a duel? Would he simply just get in trouble for this? Wouldn't be the first time, now would it?
And he couldn't stop reading. It also seemed like the Revulsion Jinx forces the inanimate object to let go of whatever it was holding. Yes, that was a similarity between the disarming charm and the revulsion jinx, but it was more so something that he found fascinating himself.
Then he took a look at the diagram of the wand movement provided for the Revulsion Jinx and groaned. "Oh hell no. That looks like the arms to a stick figure." His head pounded a bit, but he knew he was going to try the spell out, but on what? Ah... not a bad decision. He mentally congratulated himself. He walked over to the doorway, which had a holder and a torch inside the holder. "Okay. Okay. I'm ready. RELASHIO!" He yelled, making the slope upward, a horizontal line, and then another slope upward, making it appear like the arms of a waving stick figure. A purple light shot out of the wand and hit the holder, forcing the torch to fall out.
It was a mental congratulations to Clark, for he knew he did it right.
But he wanted to do it again, so he would look around for something else to cast the spell on- but what?
"Under attack, I'm being taken. About to crack, defenses breaking. Won't somebody please have a heart. Come and rescue me now 'cause I'm falling apart."

Voulez-Vous, Ain't No Big Decision
What was he thinking? He literally walked into the Defense Against The Dark Arts Classroom simply because... he felt some sort of an attraction to the class. It was like someone was beckoning him to be amongst one of the bests. The champions that have emerged from the Defense against the Dark Arts class, even if he didn't really want to focus on that class quite as much. He wanted to study the Dark Arts. Well, as of right now, this was the closest he could get to physically studying the Dark Arts. Oh well, at least he would be learning how to defend himself against the Dark Arts.
But he snuck out of the classroom, getting bored with the lecture- but still standing outside of the door just in case he would need to come back in. He withdrew his wand, looked in his textbook. He didn't bother saying the incantation quite yet, but rather tried to focus on the wand movement. "Let's see... how does this work?" Clark muttered, then took the instructions step by step, slowly. Raising his right hand- his wand hand- above his head, then whipping it forward suddenly. That seemed to be the proper wand movement, and it likely was, but there was no telling Clark if he screwed up. He would have to learn it manually. Trial and Error was a thing after all.
Now, he would need to learn the incantation. He put the wand in his right pocket and then look at the textbook again. The word that was in the book was 'Serpensortia.' Right, but this seemed a little odd to say, so he would practice it a few times. Three times he would say; "Serpensortia, Serpensortia, Serpensortia."
Now, it was time to put it with the wand. He took note that it was a conjuration so he would need to think about it as much as he could. He pictured a snake that had brown scales and black diamonds on its' back as a pattern. Around the black diamonds were a tan/beige color outline. The underbelly was the same color. He also pictured coils on the end of the snake- kind of like a rattle.
"SERPENSORTIA!" He said, raising his wand above his head and whipping it forward with all his might. The snake found itself flying out of the wand and coming to a direct impact to the ground. It was a Diamondback Rattlesnake. Clark had summoned a Rattlesnake.
"I hear the doorbell ring and suddenly the panic takes me. The sound so ominously tearing through the silence. I cannot move. I'm standing numb and frozen"

Snake Vanishing Spell | Vipera Evanesca
Wand: Lesson: Wave Wand | Fandom: Weird Square Root with a Loop and a Flourish
-- (Happy New Year)
He still gawked at the fact that he had successfully summoned a freaking diamondback rattlesnake. How terrifying was that? But at the same time, it was equally as cool. At least, in Clark's eyes. But he really did need to do something. Something to avoid getting into serious trouble for unleashing a snake that could be potentially dangerous- Clark didn't know nor cared whether it was dangerous, venomous or anything else. It wasn't a big deal to him, but others are likely to freak out. Babies they were.
He opened his textbook back up and groaned to himself. Ew, there was ACTUALLY a spell for vanishing conjured snakes. Disgusting. These people were purely just freaking out over snakes. Perhaps he should just leave the snake be... but that would be a bad idea, wouldn't it? His father would get onto him, if someone got bit by a snake, he'd surely get in trouble for simply conjuring up a snake. How stupid was he?
He decided to take that initiative and prepare himself to quickly try and obtain the incantation, already finding that the wand movement just looked ridiculous and that he would just make a weird square root sign that had a loop and some sort of a flourish, because why not? "Vipera Evanesca." He said. It sounded right, and therefore, that would be what he would use to the best of his own advantage.
The snake came slithering towards Clark, and Clark using his newly obtained knowledge thanks to a textbook- would make that odd square root sign shape with it's special features that it came with- the loop and flourish. "VIPERA EVANESCA!" Clark yelled, making the noise from inside his chest be as loud as he possibly could. He would do the right thing, one way or another, and he felt that this was truly the right thing to do. To avoid harming others.
The snake seemed to create some sort of black smoke as if it were burning from the inside out. That would be traumatizing, but it eradicated the snake, didn't it? With a sense of regret, he felt himself needing to go back into the classroom and pay his respect to Constellation, since he decided to do the reckless thing and summon a snake. The great thing was he dealt with the situation- even if the sad thing was the snake had to 'die.'
He once again muttered the incantations to himself as he took a seat. "Vipera Evanesca. Vipera Evanesca." And then opened his textbook and took notes on what he saw happen, and what he did efficiently. As well as things to better himself for future references, no matter how shameful it was to reveal that Clark had mistakes.
"Seems to me now that the dreams we had before are all dead, nothing more than confetti on the floor. It's the end of a decade, in another ten years time who can say what we'll find what lies waiting down the line in the end of '89".

Voulez-Vous, Ain't No Big Decision
UGH! PEOPLE SUCKED! Clark hated his dad for giving him three times the workload for Astronomy. He didn't want to learn about the zodiacs and their horoscopes. That was boring! He didn't want to be like those muggle fortune tellers! But it wasn't only his dad that drove him nuts, it was his cousin. Logan was bloody miserable and simply by punching, kicking, and other course of actions against Clark... Clark wanted a better revenge than dumping dragon dung on her like he had done on July 3rd.
And what better way than to attend yet another class in the defense against the dark arts class and soak up all that knowledge. Knowledge he didn't want to know- like creatures and objects- he didn't want to have retained in his brain, but he wanted to have the spells taught stuck in his brain. After all, what better way to live life than to know the spells and then be able to bully people with them?
Heaven at its finest. He took notes in his textbook, and at the end of the class, he stood up and turned towards someone he had never seen before. Awesome, a perfect target for his first time casting the full-body bind curse. "My my, how can I resist you." He said, trying to get the kid he had never met to turn towards him.
"Give me a second, I have to think on how to say this..." Clark smirked, a sign of genuine joy on his face. If this worked, he could effectively sneak past his mean ol' cousin and perhaps even steal some of her galleons if she even had any. That would be Clark's revenge without causing destruction.
"Petrificus Totalus." Clark exclaimed, putting deliberation into his tone, making himself look like he knew what the hell he was doing, when at the same time, he really just had what he took notes on. Crap. He forgot to make the wand movement. He would need to do that again. The boy seemed to have turned away.
Clark thought of Logan and how mean she was and then made a curved shape that scooped into a straight horizonal line and then had a short vertical line at the end of it, making it look like a sideway 5 of a sort. He screamed out the incantation, aiming the spell towards the boy simply out of the knowledge of the anger towards Logan. "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!"
The boy had locked up his legs and his arms, binding himself so he looked like he was standing awkwardly stiff as a board. He fell backwards, and Clark took it as a proud accomplishment on his behalf. He would then just aim for Logan from now on.
"Once these rooms were witness to our love, my tantrums and increasing frustration. But I go from mad, to not so bad in my transformation"

Voulez-Vous, Ain't No Big Decision
Clark entered the professor's classroom, sitting in the back and bowing his head in an attempt to show respect and to stay out of trouble. His eyes tracking the professor, Orion, as he taught. The part goblin muttered to himself, gently, "Densaugeo." It was the teeth growing hex and with this hex he felt it meant he could try and make someone turn into a beaver. Or maybe Timmy Turner, either way worked for him if he had to face his bullies or those who opposed him and whatever he did.
He took notes on what the etymology of the spell was, to try and understand exactly what it was he was casting and what it stood for. The etmology of the teeth growing hex was simply just latin for tooth and grow. This was.. not as exciting as he wished it was. He knew that Dens is tooth but Augeo was really two words in latin when you translate it into english; increase or grow. At least according to what he needed to know, it meant tooth grow in english.
Clark wrote frantically in his notebook, making sure every single bit of this specific spell was embedded in his knowledge as deeply as it possibly can. He noted the incantation 'den-SAU-jee-oh' and that he needed to ensure that he really did put emphasis on the SAU part of the pronunciation, and for him to actually enunthicate the word.. he didn't want to 'accidently' mispronounce the word as the killing curse, the professor would definitely have his head for this if he did that, so of course he needed to obey the proper methods and do the right thing... for right now. The wand movement was thankfully slightly easier than alohomora, at least in his opinion.
He decided he would then just place the professor as the target because surely he'd understand someone actually practicing a spell. "Densahgeo." He said, mispronouncing the spell. His wand movement was of an upward and straight movement with a curve to the right and then finally a tiny line upward. Right.. so that didn't work. He would've messed up.
He took a gander at his little notebook and realized his mistake in his pronunciation failure. "den-SAU-jee-oh!" He scream loudly, probably drawing attention towards him (or wasn't, he didn't really care and wasn't really paying attention to them). He made the wand movement of going upwards in a straight line and then curving over in the right direction just to make the teeny tiny line upwards.
"It's our children playing with their new toys, little moments of happiness and of bliss. Does it ever get better than this?"
