Pericles wrenched the blindfold from his face, letting it tumble to the piste as he resumed a readied stance. Not that it had done much good... Gryffindor was keen on keeping them in the fog. His mouth twisted in dissatisfaction while he fruitlessly scanned the stage. Seeing a vague orange glow from Callie's general direction made his heart sink, but she was a tough lass, a little flame wouldn't slow her down.

Jake sighed. The flame on Callie's robes was already dying down, and so was the fog. But he had a feeling THAT wasn't gonna last long....
Sure enough, it wasn't long at all before new smoke began to creep in. At this point Jake was just used to it and was just sure he'd never be able to see anything as long as this duel lived. Pericles turned his wand against his team again, though this time Jake didn't hear what it was that he cast (did they stand up a little straighter though?) And Callie turned her wand towards the cloud (That's what Jake would have done too, he was sure of it) sending the storm back towards the Gryffindors.
As Galton fought against both Eagles at the same time, a blindfold spell hitting Pericles once again (THAT had to be frustrating) Jake was sure that the Gryffindors were about to go on the attack again. Then suddenly...
ZAP!
The lightning struck. One moment Galton was casting a successful blindfolding spell. The next, he was zapped by a storm cloud, with a resounding crash that made Jake yelp. He covered his ears instinctively and ducked. But no...it was the lightning cloud...and it had hit Galton head on! Jake knew what that felt like now. It was the worst feeling he could imagine. "Are you ok...?" he called out, though 'ok' didn't seem like the right word to use after a lightning strike.

Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 9
Galton feltβ¦ electric. Quite literally. He could feel the jolt of electricity course through his body. It was a new experience for the lad. Heβd been exposed and damaged by all sorts of elements, but this was a new one. Lightning would be added to the list.
It was sad. Heβd felt so much larger than life before he was struck, and now that was gone. At least his hair looked cool.

Nicky was slightly worried about Galton, especially since she couldn't see him very well in the fog and couldn't tell exactly how bad the damage was but she turned her attention back to the duel almost immediately after he got hit. She had to stay focused, no matter what. Only then her team would win the duel.

That was...electrifying! Quite literally. If anything Callie was a little concerned for Galton. Then again that was hardly her problem. Like it or not they were very much currently winning this duel so in her mind they could deal with a minor lightning strike. Besides he even got a cool hair do out of it. So what was the issue? Nothing, that's what? Did that make her a bad person? Maybe.

The stage had been a mess of fog and smoke since the start, but there was no mistaking the trademark sound of lightning striking someone across the way. Pericles felt a rush of relief, praising Callie for moving it away in the nick of time with an unusually boisterous "Good timing!" They'd finally gotten a hit in, but the duel was halfway done, and now he was dealing with yet another obstruction. The Ravenclaw's teeth clenched tight together as the blindfold wrapped around his head. This tactic of keeping them blind was maddening.
Action: As strategized.

Jake looked to Galton to see if he was ok to keep going or if he needed a trip to the hospital wing, but somehow the Gryffindor was still fighting. Gryffindors truly were brave....Jake wasn't surprised one bit though when the first thing Elsa did was to blow the storm cloud back towards the Ravenclaw team. After what it had done to Galton he would have done the same thing.
But Galton... Galton kept fighting, shooting a paralyzing jinx straight at Callie! The Ravenclaw was fighting through the fog and the smoke, blowing gusts of wind in the directions of her opponents but it was no use. The visibility was horrible, she couldn't find her targets. Galton didn't seem to have that problem. His accuracy in the smoke was something amazing to behold. The petrificus totalus hit Callie right on and she would hit the ground backwards with a thud.
Throughout all of this, Pericles fumbled with his blindfold trying to get it off his head, but it appeared to be stuck on pretty good. So he might not even have seen the storm cloud that was hovering in over his head. But then....
ZAP!
Not again! Jake cringed at the second burst of thunder, and crack of lightning, but this time it was the Ravenclaw team that would feel the pain. He tried not to look away from the carnage as yet another duelist was struck by that awful cloud.
