Potion Fiascos and An Angel in Disguise
Ethan could feel the frustration building up inside him as he searched for the missing ingredient in his potion class. He muttered a series of curses under his breath, each one expressing his growing hatred for the class.
From the moment he first stepped into the class, he knew that potions were not his strength. He struggled to memorize the long and complex lists of ingredients and the precise steps in creating each potion. Not to mention the disgusting smell that permeated the room, making it difficult for him to focus.
His space was a mess of potions, flasks, and quills, and he couldn't find the darned snake fang he needed. He scoured the room, his eyes darting here and there, his fingers picking up and tossing away items with growing frustration.
“Where is it?” he asked himself, growing more and more frustrated with each passing moment. He hated every aspect of this class, from the difficulty of the assignments to the tediousness of the tasks. Even the other students seemed to have a better handle on the subject than he did. It was as if everyone else just 'got it', and he was the only one left behind.
He much preferred Quidditch to spending hours in the dank dungeons of Hogwarts, and if he had to choose, he would rather fly on his broomstick than study Potions.
The class was a nightmare. Ethan never looked forward to it, and each day felt like an eternity. He found himself counting down the minutes until the bell rang, signaling the end of the torture.
He couldn't wait for the class to end. He vowed to himself that once the class was over, he would never set foot in it again. Ethan's hatred for potion class burned with a passion that could rival a dragon's fire. All he could think of was escaping the class, and he prayed to the gods of magic that he would never have to endure such a torturous class again.@Asher Blackjack

@Ethan Smith
I am really, really, really sorry for the late reply! I will try to post consistently from now on though so hopefully I can make it up!Potions had always been a fascinating subject for Asher, he always thought of it as a subject that you either loved and excelled at or hated and just did it because you had to get a passing grade, he never encountered an in-between.
Asher was already familiar with the potion he was brewing, he had memorized the ingredients and organized his work space to minimize accidents, though he had to admit sometimes Potions can smell quite horrendous, sometimes they even tasted like they smelled, which made drinking them quite an ordeal.
He finished his potion, and made sure to double check his work, in case there was an error, though he guessed if there was one it would have already blown up in his face, which he most definitely didn't want to happen, that was an experience he went through once, which was one time more than he like.
Asher then noticed one of his fellow Gryffindors struggling with his potion, normally he wouldn't just pop to help a random person, thankfully he wasn't a random person, he recognized the Gryffindor boy as Ethan Smith, a pretty nice guy that he had met, on the Hogwarts Express when he was going back for the holidays.
He had promised Ethan back then to help him with Potions, since Ethan had mentioned that he wasn't good at it, even though he hadn't asked for help, Asher still felt like he should uphold the promise he made, so he went over to Ethan.
"Hey Ethan. Need some help?" Asher asked slightly nervous, for all he knew Ethan might have intentionally avoided asking him for help, but he decided to push those thoughts out of his mind.

Potion Fiascos and An Angel in Disguise
Ethan finds himself on a wild goose chase through the mess on his desk, on yet another relentless quest to find a precious snake fang. He was feeling defeated, having spent time searching for a tiny snake fang, a key ingredient in one of the potions he was supposed to be brewing. But after an endless game of hide and seek with the little sucker, he was no closer to finding it.
He let out a tired sigh and rubbed his temples, feeling like he was about to go mad. But as he's on this fool's quest, he's barely paying attention to anything around him, including the booming voice behind him.
“Hey Ethan. Need some help?”
And there, right behind him, is Asher. His newfound friend from the Hogwarts Express.
“Oh, hey man,” Ethan says, trying (and failing) to sound cool. “I guess I could use some help with this class.” He gestures to the pile of crazy stuff he's supposed to be working on. “I'm supposed to be making a potion, but I can't find this oh-so-precious snake fang. And even if I do find it, I don't think I'll ever get this thing right.”
Ethan was getting really tired of this class and all the ridiculous tasks they were making him do. He couldn't wait for the semester to be over. Heck, he wasn't even sure if he was going to make it until the end of the term. Hogwarts was just too much sometimes. But with Asher's help, maybe he just might.@Asher Blackjack
