Pull the Wool Over My Eyes pv

Percival blinked slowly his eyes adjusting to the sudden rush of being portkeyed. The boy glanced to his left to see his Uncle making his way out of the foray. His brows furrowed as he moved to follow after him. He felt childish to do so, but his Uncle couldn't say something like that and not expect the burning desire to understand exactly what the fuck he meant. Percival hardly noticed the butler moving to peel his coat off of him. The boy barely put thought into the butler informing him his things would be up in his room shortly. His gaze was focused on the tall back of his Uncle, swathed in a pressed white shirt now visible with his coat off. It seemed weird to see his Uncle wearing something so pristine. The coat had seemed so familiar, but it seemed beneath the familiarity change was still far too present for his liking.

"So that's it?" He spoke stupidly and without much thought into it. His eyes were narrowed as he watched his Uncle glance back towards him with an unreadable expression.

"By heavens, what do you mean?" The older man asked his tone was calm yet clearly impatient.

Percival could practically feel the thin ice he was walking, and as much as he hated it he needed to tread carefully if he was ever going to get any answers. Though, he had never been really good at being light about anything. "You show up out of the blue, and tell me my entire life is a lie, and what? You are just going to walk away like nothing happened? Why did you even show up?" He asked his tone sharp and cutting. The boy could practically feel the ire radiating off his Uncle as he turned around to face the boy. The younger looked up towards his Uncle as he sought to maintain eye contact. Despite his growth spurt, he still had to look up towards him.

"You ask so many questions." His Uncle snarled as he lowered his voice a bit, though it was still raw and tight. "Questions that I don't think you can fully understand, yet." The last word was low and heavy, though he managed to maintain eye contact with his young charge. Percival could not help but feel small underneath his watchful gaze. It felt like he was twelve again, getting caught doing something bad.

"I-" he started though his Uncle's gaze removed any words from his mouth. Uncle Terrence let out a deep sigh a tired look overcoming his facial features. "I will explain everything to you in due time. You are still a child as much you think you aren't." He spoke slowly. "You don't understand so much of how things are. How this world works."

"Then tell me! I want to understand." He spoke quickly.

His Uncle frowned at the boy with a clear displeased look on his face. "One question. That's all." Uncle Terrence spoke his frown growing ever so slightly softer.

Percival nodded in understanding brow furrowing slightly. He hated being controlled in such a way to be completely at his Uncle's mercy. "Were you really telling the truth that they never stayed here?" He asked slowly his frown deepening.

Uncle Terrence sighed before nodding slowly, Percival quickly glanced towards the wall fighting back the strong feelings that overcame him. His eyes widened as he felt his Uncle pull him into a hug. The rough fabric pressed into his cheek roughly. Staring down the hall with wide eyes. It seemed so surreal that it caused him to question every interaction that had ever happened between the two of them. "I would never lie to you Percival." His Uncle spoke. If he had been glancing at his Uncle he may have noticed the smirk that pulled at the older man's lips. After a second, his Uncle released him and he took a step back to look at his Uncle fully. "May I be excused now?" he asked in a bitter tone his gaze focused anywhere but the dark figure in front of him. Percival turned away quickly making his way up the staircase to his room without so much as a spare glance.
