Meeting My First Ravenclaw Friend PV Seven Finney

─────Wow, okay. Mark thought Seven was awkward. He wasn't wrong, but it wasn't exactly something they enjoyed hearing. Maybe being weird could be good, but awkward just wasn't at all amazing.

"Yes, um, great friends," Seven agreed.

They wished that they were better. Then they would be able to make more friends. It had all been so easy when Seven was younger. Making friends was essentially going up to someone and asking them if they'd like to be friends. Now there was drama and confusion and all that stuff Seven didn't really like because it made everything harder.

But having friends was nice and being alone was not. Sometimes, though, Seven wished that they hadn't gotten a letter from Hogwarts telling them that they were magic. Their Muggle life, in some ways, had been preferred. Sure, casting spells and brewing potions was awesome, but they used to have quite a bit of Muggle friends who they had really connected with. So far, Seven hadn't found anyone at Hogwarts who was the same. But then again, their Muggle friend group had been fairly large, which may have been an important factor.

Well, perhaps Mark would be a friend like that. Seven hoped so.

Mark frowned. He had a feeling that he had hurt Sevens feelings. He didnt want to at all, but he also didnt know what to say at the moment, since he didnt want to make anything awkward, but he does know that if he doesn't say anything, there'll just be silence, which Mark doesn't exactly want.

Mark than decided that he should say something, but didnt know what to say, he thought about apologizing, since he felt bad for possibly hurting Seven's feelings, which definitely isn't a good way to form a new friendship. After thinking for a while, Mark finally said,
"I'm sorry if what I had said hurt your feelings. I didnt exactly know how to phrase what I was going to say. But, I'm still hoping that we can become great friends."

Mark now hopes that it'll be less awkward between him and Seven. He doesn't really like things to be awkward, but also knows that he can't fix it right away, since it'll probably even more awkward if he tries too.

Mark than got lost in his own thoughts of trying to think of ways to get a new conversation going. When they were first talking a great conversation was happening, but now, the conversation kinda went downhill.

─────Everything had suddenly turned so awkward. When they first met Mark, it had been exciting. They were going to make a new friend. But it had all turned weird. The two were friends, or at least Seven hoped so, but they decided that meeting up again later instead of continuing their current conversation was a good idea.

"Um, I have some stuff I need to do," Seven shifted their position. "I should probably go now and write a letter to my parents."

It was more of an excuse than it was the truth. Seven's parents wouldn't freak out if their child didn't send a letter every week, but Seven liked learning about what was happening back at home. They especially enjoyed writing to their father because he would talk about his most recent case. He was a lawyer, so he had a lot to say about those things.

Seven jumped off of the tree branch they had been sitting on and looked up at Mark. "I'm really glad I met you and we became friends," they paused. "It would be nice if we bumped into each other again."

They smiled, turned, and began to walk away. They wondered if Mark would say anything else.

─────At the sound of Mark's voice, Seven paused and looked back at him. He really did want to be friends with them. Maybe they hadn't messed up quite so badly.

Mark waved and Seven waved back, giving him a smile. They then continued walking.

They had decided that when they got back to the Ravenclaw Common Room, they would think of things to say to him on their next interaction. Mark's thoughts about sending a letter his way weren't half bad and perhaps Seven would draft a note to give him later.

They began thinking about what the letter would say...

'Dear Mark,'

Nope, that was too formal. A fun meeting needed to be more casual.

'Mark -
I really enjoyed hanging out with you and I was thinking that it would be nice to meet up again. Maybe we could go for a walk? The area around the Great Lake is amazing.

They would sign their name in cursive and everything so it seemed better. As they were pondering that, they realized they weren't even out of Mark's view and they were already thinking about their next encounter with him. Well, they were just excited. He was a good friend.
