─────After Seven had explained the basic plot of A Rising Man, Lizzi took out a quill and a single piece of parchment and wrote down the title. She then showed Seven the parchement. They nodded. The three words were correct.

It was possible that Lizzi was actually interested in their recommendation. It she was, it would be great. They could do a book club sort of thing.

No, Seven was getting ahead of themself. Lizzi wouldn't want to do any of that stuff. Well, maybe she did, but they didn't need to focus on that. Instead, they had to continue to be a good friend. Which meant they had to listen to what she was saying.

Seven pulled themself out of their thoughts just in time to hear Lizzi's question. They also heard a few extra words. Lizzi thought A Rising Man sounded great. That made Seven happy. They matched Lizzi's wide smile.

"I think it's by," they had to search their memory for a moment, "Abir Mukherjee."

Seven wasn't sure if they were pronouncing the name right. One good thing about having a name like 'Seven' was that no one ever had trouble pronouncing it. However, there were common names that were easy to say as well.

─────"I don't have any pets. I've always wanted one, but my parents say it's too time-consuming to own a pet."

Seven remembered that when they were aged around eight years, they had very much wanted a puppy. Except after learning about all the responsibility that would come with that ownership, they had forgotten about it all.

If they could have any one pet, which would they choose? Well, owls were useful. They carried mail. However, Seven didn't like the idea of those sharp beaks. A toad was also an option. If only that particular animal wasn't so slimy. Seven hadn't touched a toad before, but they assumed the skin was gross like that. Then, of course, as Lizzi had mentioned, they could buy a cat. They would want a fluffy one, perhaps a Silver Siberian. Speaking of fluff, there was one creature that Seven couldn't forget about. Pygmy Puffs. Basically, they were balls of fur that rolled around.

Anyways, the point was that there were many options for pets. Lizards, rats, rabbits, spiders, fish, and snakes could also be bought at the Magical Menagerie.

"I do want one. I'm not sure what species, though. Do you know what you're going to get?"

─────Lizzi seemed very passionate about the topic of cat names. It was slightly strange, but Seven didn't mind. The two of them were friends. Weird, book-loving friends.

For some random reason, that made Seven think of a quote. 'Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.' Mark Twain had been the one to first speak those words, and Seven agreed with him. Now that they had Lizzi, they could relate to the first part, and they had always known what it was like to have good books. The last item on the list, however, wasn't something Seven was used to. A sleepy conscience basically meant that you're a calm person. Seven was not. They worried a lot. Mostly about what other people though. They were always nervous.

That was kind of a sad thought and Seven pushed it aside. They quickly searched for the right words.

"Yeah. You can do so much planning, but anything can happen. Depending on the personality of your cat, you might want to change the name you previously chose for them."

That sounded pretty smart and Seven gave themself a nice complement. They were awesome, confident or not. The first one would be better.
