While moving through the huge castle, climbing the moving stairs and avoiding Peeves was certainly cardio in its own right, Arden had found he didn't run as much as he used to since coming to Hogwarts. Between track in his Physical Education period, and Rugby practice he had gone from Running every day to rarely and he was starting to feel as if he was losing a bit of the Stamina he had built up from that activity. Today, it was time to change that.
Going out early, after a carb filled but quick breakfast in the great hall, Arden was dressed in a tight Sexton rugby shirt, simple running pants and his well broke in Trainers. He tied his medium red hair back to keep it out of his face and he started to Jog around the castle to warm up, after all you cant just start with a dead sprint. After a bit he would nod to himself and increase his speed, going as fast as he knew he could reliably maintain for a prolonged run. The boy couldnt help but smile as he ran, The smell of the air, the feel of the grass under his feet, the sun on his body. All that was missing was a ball in his hands and some cheering. This was way better than studying in some stuffy castle hall.
Eventually, Arden slowed as he was feeling himself spent. With a sheen of sweat from the effort and the mild burn from muscles not as used to being used so long he felt accomplished from this first morning run in ages. He was definitely going to need to do it more often, get back into proper shape. Especially if he wanted to be any good on the Quidditch team, assuming he could get on it. Sure they used brooms, but physicality and stamina are universal boons for any athlete.
He found a table to sit at and he dropped into a bench eagerly and he began to massage a calf, despite minor soreness this was shaping up to be a good morning so far.

Jack happened to be staring out his window when he saw the figure jogging around the school. Said figure was tall, so at first Jack thought it had to have been Flash, but then when the jogger came closer, he saw from their medium-length red hair that they weren't. Feeling disappointed, Jack nevertheless continued to watch the other student, sighing to himself as he leaned on the windowsill. He missed Flash a great deal, but he had to come to terms with the fact that his once-friend was probably never returning to Hogwarts.
It was a little while later when the fourth year came down to breakfast in his usual Slytherin uniform of a white shirt, black slacks, and a grey sweater vest with green and silver stripes running along the edges. As he wandered down the rows of tables, looking for a seat, he happened to notice the boy he had seen jogging earlier. It was that boy's fault he was in such a sullen mood, now. Mouth twisting, Jack decided to punish him for it.
After thinking through a few spells, the Slytherin settled on the Hair Color-Changing Charm. It was relatively harmless, but he wondered if the other kid had the skills to undo the spell. Making his decision, Jack brought out his wand and aimed it at the unfamiliar Gryffindor. "Crinus Muto," he said in a low voice, performing the wand movement as he did so and concentrating on turning the stranger's hair a bright pink.

Arden had finished massaging his calf and reached up to undo the hair tie keeping his hair from his face when he heard someone walking towards him so he looked in that direction. He started to raise his hand to wave, and to call out a greeting to whoever this guy was. Never a bad time to make a new friend...but then he saw something on the other boys face, something in his eyes. He was upset about something, and the curious thing was it seemed to be directed at him. Did Arden do something? say something to someone? He didnt recall doing anything to offend anyone. It was then Arden noticed the wand being drawn and directed towards him.
"Woah woah woah what are you do-" and that was all he could get out before the spell was cast.
He raised his hands defensively to protect himself, expecting some sort of projectile or something but after hearing the spell be called out and the movement of the wand he didn't *FEEL* anything happen to him. Thats...wait a second.
Arden caught the sight of something in the corner of his eye and he grabbed his hair and pulled some forward to look at. It was bright pink!
"Hey what the hell man! What did you do that for? Is this permanent? who the heck are you?"

When the boy noticed that Jack had gotten out his wand and was pointing it at him, Jack noted that said boy was pretty quick and observant to be aware of him so quickly. Most other kids would likely have been too busy concentrating on what was for breakfast to bother looking up, let alone at some unfamiliar teen.
Upon the kid's realization of what had been done to him, the fourth year felt a mix of regret and amusement. It really hadn't been that guy's fault that he had reminded Jack of Flash, especially because he probably didn't even know who Flash was, but Jack had wanted to take his feelings out on him anyway. However, the boy's reaction to his pink hair almost made the Slytherin want to laugh.
"Jack Burnett," he answered the last question the boy had uttered, careful to keep his expression serious. At least until he smirked a little, continuing with his response. "I changed your hair because I didn't like the way you looked. Isn't it so much better now?" He turned to sit at his table, not bothering to face the runner any longer as he said, "As for whether or not it's permanent...that would depend on you and whether you know any spells to change it back." He shrugged. "Or you could just cut it all off and wait until it grows out again, I suppose. Your choice."

Arden sputtered a bit, at a loss for words. This guy, Jack Burnett apparently was jack knifing wildly from antagonist to casual conversation and Arden wasn't exactly sure what the proper response to the was. First, hitting him with a random spell to mess with his hair followed up with a proper introduction only to follow it up with a bit of snark and teasing at his expense followed by practical information on how to deal with the problem, as unpleasant as the fix may be.
He blinked a few times and shook his head "Uh...Arden Doherty..." he grabbed some more hair on the other side of his head and looked at it, before letting out a defeated sigh and slumping in his seat some. when he opened his mouth and continued to speak his Irish accent would become unmissable "Prank, right I get it. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised that a Slytherin would want to screw with me. Typical Rival team hazing" he then chuckled and a smile came across his face, as he eyebrows hardened taking on a completive expression.
He then extended his right hand outwards to shake "Round 1 goes to you Burnett, but now that I know were playin' balls in my court. Fair warning though mean green, I play to win" there didnt seem to be any malice in his voice, but an tone of excited competition

At the suggestion that he had played a prank because of 'typical rival team hazing', Jack turned around in his seat, looking annoyed. "This has nothing to do with me being a Slytherin or you being a Gryffindor. You just reminded me of someone I know and it irritated me. That's all." Still, he was surprised how well the other boy was taking it. Arden Doherty, huh?
His thick brows rose high when Arden held out a hand to shake, astonished that the bespelled lion wasn't more angry with him. In fact, he was even acting almost friendly despite his following words of challenge. It didn't take Jack long to shed his astonished expression and replace it with one of amused confidence. It had been a while since someone had challenged him and treated him as a rival, though ironically the last person who had had also been a Gryffindor boy. If only Rafael could see this now.
"Alright, Doherty. If you think you've got what it takes to take me on, then I admire your conviction. I look forward to seeing what you do," Jack answered, getting up and walking over to accept the tall boy's hand. He shook it firmly once, looking Arden straight in the eye. "But I do have to ask - do you know how to undo that particular spell, or do you need a little help? Because I could help you...for a price."
