Quidditch Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw - Spring 2023

This match had already taken a turn for the worst. Cecily was down for the count and Lavinia stuck captaining the team on her own. She even failed her blatch so had to take a penalty lap that would cost them vital time. Despite it all, Lavinia knew that she was able to continue leading the team through this game to victory. They still had so much of the match to win and Lavinia was ready to do so… after her penalty lap that is.

Jorah set a bludger flying Clark's way. Clark was pissed, but he managed to survive, just barely. Rita was not lucky, Jorah watched as his bludger ricocheted off of Clark in a glorious fashion right into Rita, smashing her broom to bits. "Thats why they call me --Broombreaker!!," Jorah shouted. He savored the thought of collecting a piece of her broken broom as a trophy. He had never broken a Nimbus 1700 before.

Then everything changed when Quinn attacked. Jorah watched the beast of a boy as he one shot Captain Cecily. Before Jorah could react, the bludger was coming straight for his head. He pulled up in time to avoid decapitation, but his sternum took the bludger in full force. The air rushed from his lungs as the wind was knocked out of him. Something, his sternum possibly, had most definitely cracked. All he knew then was pain.

CHASERS & KEEPERS

Edward and Ethen are making their moves and they're both going for the quaffle. Ethen shoots score after score, putting 40 points on the hufflepuff board. Edward strikes back with a score of his own—10 points for Ravenclaw. "There's a real battle going on between these two teams. I mean, look at those seekers! They're racing to the hoops, trying to grab as many quaffles as they can with their lightening fast hands."

The fun isn't quite over yet. Edward's broom is intercepted by Atlas, who succeeds in locking it. The speaker's eyes gleam as they spot the foul play and immediately call Atlas for a penalty lap. "Edward will have to repeat his chase phase in the next round, but with a bit more fire in his eyes, I'm sure he'll come back stronger than ever!"

Jorah lets loose a vicious bludger that sends Roxette flying through the air. Without anyone to save her, she's left to suffer an unfortunate crash landing. But he's not done yet. With a swift motion, he bounces the bludger off Ethen, trying to make him the next target. But Quinn swiftly stepped in, defending him. He managed to swat the bludger away from Ethen, although he wasn't able to direct it at Jorah's direction either.

Charlie had no idea what she was getting herself into when she committed to quidditch. Honestly, it might have been better for her to pick something else, but here she was. This round was worse than the first. The Quaffles started coming right at her. Not once, or twice, or even three times, but four. Forty points for Hufflepuff. At least Edward had gotten the Quaffle through the Huffle’s hoop once, but once was not enough. Hufflepuff was leading by thirty. And it was all Charlie’s fault.

She took a deep breath, rubbed each eye, took another deep breath, and got ready to do what ever it takes to keep the Quaffle out of the hoops.

Oh hell no. He was already beginning to appear weaker now in the eyes of his enemies. He couldn't manage to backbeat anything, it seems. The thought struck his head, Rita on his broom. Well, he knew he had to do something with her, potentially pawn her off onto someone else's broom hopefully, so that Clark could try and evade the misery of the bludgers. But, if he couldn't manage to backbeat a bludger, why the hell was he considering anything else to do? What was he there for? He couldn't carry Rita forever.

Avery remained on the edge of the bench as the match continued. The sight of some points on the scoreboard for the badgers eased some of the building anxiety even as another team member was dropped from the sky in short order. The beater tightened her grip on the broom in her lap as the anticipation built, her own attempt at finding the elusive snitch amongst the action a futile effort.

With the snitch now the in periphery of his vision, he knew that it would soon be time to make his move. Before that, however, Ethen saw the opportunity to help put his team further ahead. The quaffle, as usual, was being underutilized. A reality that Ethen sought to remedy, although it was clear that the other team's seeker had a similar plan.

To Ethen's surprise and delight, he was able to use his speed and precision to get his hands on the quaffle. One after the other Ethen was able to send the ball sailing through the other team's goalposts until forty points had rung out for his team. A smile was fixed to his lips even as the other seeker was able to find 10 points of their own before Ethen was given the fantastic view of Atlas's move of questionable legality. But if it gave them an advantage he wasn't about to complain. He knew that sooner or later the other team would likely try their hardest to eliminate him.
