A first meeting
Arden let out a groan as he stretched, getting the aches and creaks out of his bones from sitting and studying so long. Magic, and the wizard world at large was still on the confusing and hard to understand front for him so He spent much more time studying and consumed by books and course work than he ever would have expected. Back home, he fell neatly into the Jock cliche and here he was going three years with no real sports accolades or even much socializing to his name. That needed to change, he was a Gryffindor afterall! not some book obsessed Ravenclaw.
He got to his feet and tossed his book, book marked with a few pages of notes and a quill, onto his bed and went to his trunk to get some cloths. When he left the tower he was wearing simple brown pants, dark leather ankle boots, a Grey t-shirt with the Irish national rugby team logo on it and his usual long green canvas jacket. He ran a hand through his messy shoulder length red hair before slipping his hands casually into his pockets and wandering the halls, smiling at random people, attempting (and failing) to high five a ghost, and at one point tripping over someone's cat...he really hoped that wasn't a professor...
Eventually he came to find himself in the court yard and he looked around the place, taking in the view. This castle was beautiful if nothing else.

A first meeting
As Katelyn strolled out of the Library with a few books in hand, she checked the time and realized that there’s still approximately an hour before dinner time. However, she has no intention of returning back to the Ravenclaw common room. To be honest, despite its stunning beauty, staying inside it for an extended period of time can be frustrating as well.
After some consideration, Katelyn decided that she might as well find somewhere else outdoors to do some further reading. And if she saw some other interesting activities, she’d have a chance to give it a try instead of locking herself up in the school library.
While she walked through the school grounds, she noticed that there are many students who are chatting with each other or joking around lightheartedly. Maybe on such a nice day, not many people are still in the mood to study. She thought. But again, she wouldn’t really call reading as “studying”, because whenever someone asks about her favorite hobby, the first thing that comes to mind has always been reading books.
She looked around, and found a comfortable meadow to sit on and relax. When she actually sat down though, she found the sunlight that’s shining directly upon her quite disturbing (and bad for her eyes). So in the end, she stood up again, went to a nearby tree, leaned against it, and started her quest for knowledge once again.

A first meeting
As he looked around he saw a couple students here or there, some chatting, a couple playing Gobstones or messing with wizard playing cards. This reminded Arden how he had met a few people in passing, seen people in his common room or in class but had yet to really make any connections or friends with anyone. This was especially strange for the boy as he was a social butterfly, back in Dublin he was friends with half the school, plus a bunch of people around town. It was so weird being the outsider here...
That's when he saw another person seemingly here alone, a blonde girl reading a book. He walked over to where she was leaning against a tree, his hands casually resting in the pockets of his pants. He offered a friendly nod once he got close and when he spoke his Irish accent was impossible to miss
"Uh hey, Watcha readin? Anythin good?"
The boy had a friendly and relaxed air to him, with charming half smile that his eyes matched as he seemed genuinly interested. He then blinked a few time and shook his head and pulled a hand out of his pocket and extended it towards her.
"Ah right manners, sorry. I'm Arden"
