Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Lucia found her wand! After just a second longer of searching, it was right there, and she scooped it up triumphantly - well, it was meant to be triumphant, after all. What actually happened was that she almost tripped over, into the spell which Kim shot her way. At least Rose missed.

Near the closing of the duel and both seniors seemed to suddenly put on their game face. Lucia dodged out of the way of Kim’s incoming Knockback jinx and cast a Fire-making spell at Rose, just as the senior Gryffindor cast the same spell right back at the older Badger.
Smoke, as clothes caught fire on both sides, but none of the duelists seemed to let up.
“LAST ROUND OF CASTING DUELLISTS, time is almost up.”
It felt like a courtesy call: the time allotted for school-sanctioned violence is almost up. Time to wrap up this whole affair.

Rose pointed her wand at Lucia again. "Incendio," she said, casting the spell towards the Hufflepuff. However, Lucia had the same idea. Both fire-making spells hit, and it gave Rose little satisfaction to see that her fire was slightly bigger than Lucia's was. She let out a deep breath, steadying herself. She could make it.
They could win.

Unfortunately, Kim's next spell missed its mark, even though it had been the same spell he'd cast earlier. Well, he couldn't hit every time it seemed. But that was to be expected, no one could always be successful in a match. There were times when spells missed their targets. It was just something to always keep in mind for all duelists. Just because your spell missed didn't mean you weren't good at casting spells. That was something many new duelists tended to overthink about. Kim glanced over at Rose to see that her spell had finally been successful. Well, at least that was good, and it had probably boosted Rose's confidence again too. At the same time, Lucia also cast her spell, the exact same as Rose's. These two... seriously... there was something between them, Kim could see and even feel the tension in the air when it came to the girls. This time they'd both cast the same spell at eachother and both had managed to set eachother on fire too. The second year let his blue eyes linger on each girl and he made a mental note to ask Rose about it later on. They were from the same year too. Maybe they had been friends and now were rivals? It made sense to him... Or had something more personal gone on between them? Regardless, he just needed to focus for the last time in the next round and then the match would be over. |

It wasn't looking good. Lucia's spell hit, which was great, but barely a moment later she found herself just as aflame as Rose now was. At least she'd managed to dodge Kim's spell, but it was a small mercy when there were only a few more seconds of duelling time left.

The last seconds of a duel were always critical, because they showed the trued mettle of a duellist. WLuld they remain calm, or would the adrenaline of the match take them?
Lucia attempted to send a spell towards Rose, but had her aim thrown off by Kim "The Prince of Flipendo" Sato 's flipendo. Rose, meanwhile, took a step back, and actually chose to heal herself. And just in time because--
"HALT." Hui-Ming stepped in the middle of the duellists, taking a moment to look over each contestant to evaluate how hurt each of them were. After a moment, he gave a small nod."

There was no chance of a Hufflepuff win today, but Lucia might as well go down swinging. She shot a fire-making spell towards Rose, but the feel of a flipendo hitting her arm jolted it, ruining her aim. Rose herself, surprisingly, opted for the peaceful route, and when the duel ended Lucia just rolled her shoulder back, trying to get rid of the worst of the pain. A hospital wing visit was definitely due, not only for herself but also to check on Emma. And yet, Lucia did actually look better than Rose did. So at least there was that. "Good game." The words were directed towards Kim, but there was no world in which Rose couldn't hear them too. Lucia just didn't want to admit just how much Rose had improved since that very first match. Still, she did have the option to prove that she was superior to Rose in one thing: losing. Rose Moon was a sore loser, as Lucia knew. Maybe this was her chance to show the girl what a good sport looked like. So she swallowed her pride and turned to the red-headed girl. "You too. Good game." And then she turned on her heel before either could reply, hoping to be in and out of the hospital wing before either of them got up there.

But even so, Kim didn't let up on his opponent because it was an official match. He wouldn't have wanted his opponent to go easy on him. It would actually have made him annoyed if such a thing happened to him. So therefore, Kim resolved to give Lucia exactly what he would have wanted from her. Full attention and focus when it came to casting his last spell at them. The best thing? Kim's Flipendo hit Lucia, just the way he'd wanted it to. Perfect incantation. Perfection wand movement. Perfect hit. But then, he'd always been a bit of a perfectionist, so it came as no surprise. As for Rose... she'd also succeeded... She managed to knock out a great healing spell on herself, invigorating the girl and making Kim's lips twitch. Whenever Rose cast healing spells, they always looked so good to him. She really had a talent when it came to those types of spells and he wondered if that was what she was going for as a career. Rose would definitely be successful if that was the case. To top off the end of the match, Lucia cast the Fire-Making Spell at Rose. The more powerful version. Even though the girl was successful, it came too late and was put out instantly.... Kim inclined his head towards Lucia. She'd spoken, telling him it had been a good game. "Mm. It was." He replied. Reaching into his pocket, he produced a chocolate frog and handed it over to Lucia. "You should restore your energy. Chocolate's good for you." Kim told her and as Lucia headed off, he looked back over at his partner. "You too. Here." The second year told her and handed her a chocolate frog too. He'd probably go check up with Rose if she went to the hospital wing after this. If she didn't, he'd part ways with her for now. Making eye contact with Eun-ji, Kim would head towards her if Rose didn't go to the hospital wing 1st. |
