Dawn at the Library
There was one difference between Thursdays and Fridays. While Thursdays she preferred not to get in trouble, Fridays were double-trouble for Elizabeth. Dressed in her Ravenclaw-pride outfit (Blue robes, necklace, earrings and a Ravenclaw badge), she always was bound to attraft much trouble. She wanted some too, for arguements these day can practice her mindset, and she thinks she is getting better and better at this everyday.
She was at the library at dawn. This way, she thought, she was bound to not be disturbed doing her homework. She'd left it just a bit too late for she had spent the whole last several days putting up notices around the school. Scribbling furiously with her quill, she hoped the librarian wouldn't find her so early in the library. Elizabeth scribbled some more and more, until all her homework was finished (one and half hours later).
She streteched in her wooden chair as she realised it was raining outside. Nothing could have lifted her spirits further as she looked out a library window and saw the rain pouring down.
Elizabeth opened the window a bit. Fresh, cool wind blew inside. She felt eliminated. The smile on her lips never ending, she sat back down in the chair with a good book on poetry.

Tristan walked to the library early in the morning, at around six in the morning for it was often the only time in which he was able to rest and read on his own, with burden from other students here in the establishment. Few met his intellectual ability, and few conversations piqued his interest. So he would rather sit and explore intellectually on his own. Today, he would turn his attention to the theory behind potions and compare it to the muggle chemistry that he had begun to learn under his new muggle tutor. Although his tutor had been one of his closest mentors and friends, his thirst for knowledge and power allowed him to accept the new tutor without too much emotional trauma. As he entered the library, he did not expect anyone to be there. However, he saw a young blonde girl, dressed in such Ravenclaw pride, with the most blatant happiness he had ever seen in a person. It was quite unsatisfying to say the least. The rain however was a pleasant addition to the day, a slight pitter patter against the stone floor of the ancient castle, a slight breeze against his face. Tristan quietly grabbed a book of potions and sat quietly next to the young girl, in an armchair, taking out his university level book of chemistry. He began to read and focus on the principles behind both scientific arts, reading of the history behind both equivalent muggle and wizard subjects.

Dawn at the Library
Elizabeth was enjoying herself mildly, listening to the raindrops go dot-dot-dot outside when someone came in the library. This was a slightly taller, blonde-haired boy with hazel eyes she had never met before. The green sweater he was wearing is too green -- too green to be any other house other then Slytherin. She had had arguments with Slytherins in this very library before, in this very outfit. It was not pleasant. This time, she hoped to be kind rather than anything else.
"Hello," Elizabeth said to the boy who had just picked up a book of potions with mild interest, scanning him up and down, "Potions" she tapped his potions book "and chemistry" she tapped his chemistry book "shouldn't be mixed."
Elizabeth heaved a long sigh. If she continued and pointed out that if potions and chemestry were mixed the world would be at an end now, surely she would earn herself another Slytherin enemy. Seeing no point to do so, she simply said to the boy, "But if you look at these books without mixing them I think it'll be alright." Then, thinking it through quite thoroughly, she told him, "I'm Elizabeth Sunrise. I don't recognise you. You are...?"

Tristan had begun reading when he heard the blond girl next to him say that potions and chemistry should not be mixed, gently, but he deduced that her emotions about such a topic was quite more emotional than such. Perhaps a more emphatic statement would fit her inner motives. Was it a decision based on niceties and companionship or was it a calculated decision to attempt quietness? Whether or not either was true, Tristan was not at all interested, but he would continue the conversation as he was taught he should. He raised his eyes from the book and said nicely, “I’m Tristan Theramin. I suppose technically I’m reading it separately, as I’m studying their differences and similarities, if that counts?” He pulled his face into a sheepish smile that no one could tell was fake. Perhaps that was kind enough to talk to a first year, or at least a younger girl. Who knows, he himself never needed any coddling of any sort as too many people had died in his life to even care about niceties unless it was for the purpose of quiet and lack of shrieking. And to add some normal conversation, “To change the subject though, do you like the rain?” He did enjoy the rain after all, so perhaps this would be a perfect subject to stay on, without bothering him too much.

“I’m Tristan Theramin. I suppose technically I’m reading it separately, as I’m studying their differences and similarities, if that counts?” Tristan asked.
"I think it's alright," Elizabeth replied cheerfully, "if you can tell the difference. And, you know, there'd better be no books if you want to trust them completely."
“To change the subject though, do you like the rain?” he said.
"Oh yes," Elizabeth told him, grinning, "lovely rain today. I can smell flowers, leaves and the smell of the fresh grass in the mud and dirt." She smiled at him, "I suppose you like rain too, to ask this certain question. What do you smell during rainy days?" she asked him curiously, "Like when you poke your nose outside the window and breathe in some fresh air. Surely you smell of something during rainy days? Sometimes I smell of fresh laundary back at home," her smile grew even wider, "I miss home," her smile disappeared, "But nevermind. The rainy days here are sometimes much better. Here's a piece of poetry I wrote on the subject." Elizabeth gave him a piece of parchment with writing scribbled on.Elizabeth smiled to Tristan.Hogwarts in the Rain
The rain flies up there in the sky,
I wonder why, nobody asks me to fly.
Because my spirits soar with the rain,
It washes away every about pain.
Down to the grounds to the lake,
I see nothing but rain, rain, rain.
Oh for heaven's sake!
The rain got my robes in stains,
Which is not quite plain.

Tristan read the attempted poetry slowly. He thought it rather banal, but he could appreciate perhaps the fact that an eleven year old wrote poetry. Although it lacked finesse, it was indeed poetry. He could not bring himself to enthuse praise about it as he would with better works. He nodded at the girl and said directly but gently, “It is a passable attempt at poetry, but it is not a masterpiece”
Hopefully, the young girl would not have the temperament of a crier, as he could not stand such an emotional outburst. He supposed he could attempt some improvised poetry in order to encourage the young girl to continue her poetic studies and improve her skills. “Perhaps I can share an original of mine as well?” Tristan commented.
He paused for a moment, then recited,
“Wretched whispers
echo
Wrenching hearts
down below.
Wanton Words wound
and sow
Silent Suff’ring,
On’rous to undergo.
To some tis just a moment,
nothing more
forgotten at the start
of the next galore.
But to those
the words are for
Pain is a scar left
A shadow and a score.”
He then nodded to signify his finishing the poem’s recitation, and looked back up at Elizabeth. He then answered her first question, “I smell the scent of salty tears in the air when there’s rain.”

“I hope this conversation will end soon,” Tristan thought. It was dragging along and this young child sometimes didn’t even make sense. An opinion can be made on poetry objectively and does not have individual styles of analysis at least at its basic level. Did she even understand the words that he spoke? He had no choice but to blink his eyes and not reply, turning his head towards his book once more. Although he had pretended to agree with only comparing the two subjects, her response had sparked the idea of actually combining the two subjects. What would it be like to analyze potions through titrations, or perhaps burn them and see its photoelectric energy? What about analysing the atomic properties of potions and combining potions together like how chemicals can be combined together to create new compounds. He considered the possibilities of the Muggle and Magical combining, and perhaps it could start with the scientific and academic working together to create medical cures. Such as the combination of Muggle medication and the cure to the Draught of Living Death, perhaps a way to cure cancer could be found working together. Perhaps even a new world could be created.
