It is another scorching summer night, and Josephine is laying on her bed in the Ravenclaw dormitory, trying her best to fall asleep. She tossed and turned, hoping to forget the heat and be able to calm down. However, neither the stuffy air inside nor the snoring of her dorm mates are making it any easier for her. She sat up and open a book, as reading can always make herself forget about the world around her in real life. Unfortunately, even that doesn’t seem to work out today either.

Frustrated, Josephine jumped down from her bed, got dressed, and walked out of her dormitory and common room, into the school campus. Outside, although the temperature is still rather high, the occasional cool breeze, the serenity and the openness of the campgrounds combined together finally managed to bring back a peaceful mindset that she usually keeps. It isn’t abnormal for her to go on a walk around the school. In fact, it’s actually one of her favorite things to do at Hogwarts except going to the Library. Nevertheless, it’s indeed the first time that she has been out so late, since it’s forbidden for students to come out so late at night unless for a special reason. Only now did she realize that her previous actions of coming outside might cause her some unnecessary trouble. My brain really wasn’t working, was it? She thought. On the other hand though, she was never a rule abider, so she decided that she’ll take the risk of been caught and still wander around for a while after all.

As she was carefully observing the majestic castle’s unique beauty at night, she suddenly heard a faint noise in front of her. She squinted her eyes and peered ahead, barely seeing the outline of someone whose size she believes could only be a student. Immediately, she plucked out her wand, stood in a defensive position, and asked forcefully: “ Who are you? What are you doing outside at this time?”

Elizabeth was out for a little chocolate frogs' buisness. It was a good price tonight, and with luck she'll earn twelve galleons tomorrow. She crossed a corridor silently, looking out for professors and prefects, in case they were around.
She was in her blue night robes, plainly not up to dressing up but a pyjama party. This was serious buisness though, and if she got caught the bag of chocolate frogs probably would get thrown into a fire, and all a night's work gone into ashes. She sighed thinking of this.
Suddenly there were footsteps. Glancing around the dark corridor, she found someone about the same hight as herself. Good. Professors or prefects certainly were not this height. There was wand movement in the dark.
“Who are you? What are you doing outside at this time?” a girl's voice asked in the dark.
"Hold you wand!" Elizabeth whispered, "I'm Elizabeth. Just Elizabeth Sunrise. And I've just came back from detention." she said in response, "I would like to know your name and your reasons for coming out at night."
She indistinctively put her hand into her robes' pockets, on her wand, but did not draw it out like the other girl. She waited in the dark, which was a bit scary.

Detention? At this time? Josephine can’t help but get a bit suspicious. As far as she remembered, not that she has ever got a detention yet, students usually come back from detention about an hour ago. She wasn’t great at guessing the time, but now is definitely way too late. So what is this girl hiding? Josephine wondered. No matter what she has been doing, it’s definitely not something normal, as most events don’t go on at this time of the day.

“I’m Josephine Acosta, and I came out at this time because it’s too hot inside my dormitory for me to sleep.” Josephine isn’t sure whether it would be appropriate to ask the girl why she’s lying immediately after they have met, but her curiosity still got the best of her. “I never thought that detentions are finished so late in the evening. What did you get into detention for?” Then she realized that her question was too abrupt. No one would ever answer a question asked in such a tone, so she added, “Sorry for my abruptness, I was quite over-alert just now. You know, afraid of being caught by professors or prefects.” Now, she’s trying to sound friendlier, in order to compensate for her previous behavior. She’ll need to dissolve the other girl’s enmity if she really want’s to find to what’s going on.
