The Eagle and The Snake
It was a Saturday morning and it was a cold October morning. The brunette girl was wearing her typical green leather jacket, the white under shirt, her black leather choker, an emerald necklace, her white jeans and white high-tops. She was kind of immune to the cold from her long walks in the cold.
The Ravenclaw was seated on a wall that was on the side of the path leading to and from the school. Her legs dangled and she was reading a letter, to immersed to know if anyone was walking by. It was a letter from her pen pall in Ukraine. She hadn't visited her friend in one year. Her aunt always took them to Ukraine once a year. And she hadn't been this year yet. They always went around Christmas time. Her friend's name was Zaire which means river. He is the same age as her and is also from a pureblood family like herself.
As she was caught up in reading her letter she accidently knocked her army satchel off the wall and into the path of an unsuspecting first year. A pen fell from the bag and landed on the boy's head and the bag landed on the ground with a thud.

The Eagle and The Snake
Saturday morning rain wasn't falling.
And Lars was happy with that fact because the temperature was already cold yet he was still strolling outside the school ground and paid a visit to the Black Lake. He heard rumour about the Giant Squid and had been so eager to find out ever since he heard that. He had been outside for probably half an hour but the Squid didn't show itself, even after he threw half of his sandwich to the lake. Disappointed and suddenly feeling hungry -- probably caused by the cold -- he decided to just go back to the warm castle. If he were lucky, perhaps there would be some hot chocolate served at the Great Hall. Or at least warm tea. At the time like this was exactly when he missed his home. Clara -- his housemaid -- made a very delicious hot chocolate and oftentimes he need not asking her to bring a cup foe him, because she could read his mind, somehow, and always managed to find him wherever he was to bring the hot chocolate.
Shaking his head, so that he could stop thinking about his house, he made his way to the courtyard. It was only a few more steps to the castle's door when something fell on his head, followed by something bigger on the ground. 'At least the bag didn't fell on my head', he thought as he glanced at the pen and the bag. Then he looked up to find a girl, probably slightly older than him, sitting on the wall with a paper in hand. "Erm, Miss. Are these your belongings?" asked him, couldn't help but wondering how did she get up there.

Eri snapped back to reality when a voice spoke to her. She realized that her stuff had fallen and folded the letter. "Sorry. Yeah that's my stuff." She said in a Russian accent with a little hint of a British accent. Although she was raised in Britain she had been around people with Russian accents and she had stayed a year in Russia when her Aunt had to go back to work that one year.
"I'm sorry about that. I hope they didn't fall on your head." She slid off the wall and landed on her feet. It was only ten feet from the ground. She is almost five feet and she is very agile. So to get up onto the wall she ran and jumped grabbing a few of the rocks that stuck out for hand holds and climbed the last two feet to the top.
"I'm Eri by the way." She said once she had jumped down. She grabbed her bag and stick the letter and pencil into it. "What's your name? And are you a first year?" She asked since she didn't recognize him from last year and he seemed to be a little younger than her.

'Oh?' The first thing Lars noticed from the girl was her unique accent because even though she was speaking in English, the main accent didn't seem to be coming from anywhere around UK. He tilted his head to the side with interest and noticed the paper in hand, thinking he disturbed him in the middle of something important. But then again, he wouldn't disturb her if the bag didn't fall on him in the first place.
"The pen did. I think it creates a hole on my head," said him jokingly when the girl said about the stuffs not falling on his head. He watched her coming down so easily and thought perhaps he could try climbing the wall himself as he was quite tall for hid age himself. 'Later.'
"My name's Lars, first year Slytherin," replied him, following the question. "Pleased to meet you, Eri. What house are you sorted into?" asked him as it was weekend and none of them wore uniform which usually could tell the difference of the four houses by the crests. "And where did you come from? Your accent sounds unusual to me." It wasn't entirely strange as he might have heard that among his father's friends, or his mother's, but he kind of forgot at the moment.

Eri just looked at him. "Again I'm sorry. Didn't mean to drop anything on you." She said. At least she didn't get the same reaction she got when she got home after getting her hair dyed. Her brothers looked at her like she was crazy.
The brunette smiled and looked at Lars. That was a unique name. It made her think of the planet mars cause it had the same ring to it."I'm a second year Ravenclaw." She said in response to his question about what house she was in. He was Slytherin and he seemed very nice though not all Slytherin were bad.
"It's complicated. My parents were born in Ukraine but they had me in the U.K. But my Aunt raised us. But one year she had to take us to Ukraine to stay with our grandparents because she had to do something important for work." She may have explained way to much but it was out now.
The brunette looked at the ground for a second then looked back up at Lars. He is kind of taller than she was so she had to look up when talking to him. She wiped a strand of her multicolored hair from her face.
