Delilah was shocked to see Alans spell backfire on him but sometimes things like that happen sometimes when you have people around that set you on edge. It was a shame when things happen like that but oh well. This round didn't seem to be going particularly well for anybody, only one out of the 4 spells actually did what they wanted to. And then Meenauh got hit with lightning on top of that, that had to hurt.

She did not like the cloud, even though she really liked the cloud. She widened her eyes as she heard Astrea cast, and she saw the cloud moving to their side. She knew the splitting would be attempted, so she focused on dodging the wind. And failed. The cherry on the top was that while trying to dodge the wind and failing, she did not attempt to dodge the lightning, and she still failed, because the lightning struck hard.

Unpleasant — wasn't the word she would have dropped.

Alan wasn't doing any better, so they had to step up their game. As quick as possible.

Alan soon found himself trapped in his own fog and as if this wasn't simply unfortunate enough, he could feel the sparks of electricity before the lightning struck. What a shame for this to have happened, after it had been going so well. But this was this and now was now. Alan felt determination grip him as he readied himself for better rounds to come.

I don't typically do these because I tend to forget myself. But there is around 9 hours until the deadline and I've still yet to hear from you guys

The next few moments actually went pretty well for them. Bridget wasn't pleased with her own spell missing, but the dodge on Meenauh's part was pretty flawless. And besides, it was well worth it if it helped Astrea pack a double-punch, first the Ventus and then the lightning she'd blown over with it.

What was even better was that Astrea wasn't bound again, and the fog around them finally cleared, only Alan shrouded in his own backfire. It had been rough for a minute there, but they'd emerged in a decent position. They could work with this. They just needed focus and precision, and they could work with this.

One could only imagine the immediate visual relief that likely occurred to the moderator and masses alike as the thinning fog dissipated into nothingness. With the prevalence of weather charms within duels, it was a wonder that the piste was ever clear throughout a match.

For what disappointment Astrea had previously wrought in this duel alone, perhaps this single round of action aimed to soothe the sting of missed chances. Indeed, while not a single other spell had managed to hit its mark, Astrea's split wind jinx had successfully managed to sweep up her target and, simultaneously, induce electric karma in its haste. It was simply a brief taste of satisfaction for the Slytherin team, but even the barest aftertaste of such strategical soundness would nonetheless motivate them towards pursuing their further ambitions.

Another lightning strike! Other than that we had Meenauh attempt to cast that brutal Fulgari again, thankfully Astrea saw it coming and pulled up a Protego, seeing that awful spell hit the shield in front of her right as it happened. Impedimenta hit Meenauh as well from Bridget and Alan healed her up a bit in the mean time. That Impedimenta looked brutal, it might be harder to deal with in the long run.

The lightning struck right beside her, and she threw a surprised look at probably more confused Alan. Unpleasant, yes. But he managed to deliver the desired reinvigoration, which gave her enough power to cast another Fulgari. Astrea this time predicted the move and threw a Protego on, and Meenauh's spell struck it and was gone. While she was doing that, she felt a strange feeling in her legs. She looked at them, then replayed the last seconds, and then looked at Bridget and grinned. Okay-okay, she knew the game.

Alan was just a little shocked at how fast the tide had turned and he was somewhat reminded of his previous duel against Dmitri, who was well known to be the luckiest duellist Hogwarts has known. But Alan was determined that Meenauh and he would turn this duel around once more.

Her next spell, and Impedimenta cast at Meenauh, emerged brilliantly from her wand. It was a very near miss, but not quite, her opponent caught in the painstakingly slowed motion of the spell. It was just a tactical hit, but then Meenauh grinned at her and she couldn't help but grin back. It was a challenge, a game on.

And things were certainly going down. She flinched as another flash of lightning nailed Alan--that usually didn't happen that fast, that much. It was good for them, though, as was Astrea's intelligent move to throw up a shield between her and losing more valuable time to Meenauh's Fulgari. This was still a good position for them, and there was still work to be done.
