A Vial of Trouble
[font=bodoni monotype]
Aurelia wasn’t please to hear that the Ravenclaw wasn’t leaving just yet. It was obvious she was up to something as who would want to sit in the cold potions room of all places?
The Brunette tucked a lose strand of hair that had come free from her braid behind her ear. Emma was venturing into dangerous territory once again when she asked about the potion’s purpose. She was intrigued when Emma mentioned about forgetting her. It made Aurelia wondered if Emma did somehow care just a little. It wasn’t a surprise, Emma had sat in the library and listened to what she had to say about her Brother, or perhaps it was just her scavenging for useful information to use against her in the future.
It wasn’t Emma’s business at all, it was probably due to being a Ravenclaw that she was curious. Aurelia knew herself that the potion was to help her not harm her. To aid her in those painful flashbacks whenever she had an anxiety attack. She, of course, wouldn’t reveal that to Emma, it was something personal.
“It’s not right to jump into conclusions Emma,” Aurelia laughed lightly, tilting her head.
“If that was the case, I’d would have already paid somebody in order to obliterate me and also to save me from all this trouble brewing potions. ” She explained. If Aurelia wanted to erase her memory, she’d have done it in the exact way of paying someone desperate for money. But who crazy enough wanted their memory swiped away with a flick of a wand? Memories were to precious.
“You shouldn’t care to much about me, Emma. I know what I’m doing.” She said the words teasingly, Emma did care after all.
“ You know just well that I don’t fancy quidditch, why would it be one of the factors for erasing my memory? ” Aurelia asked, praying that the conversation would stray away from the current topic. Aurelia actually loved quidditch. It was just her Mother who didn’t think young proper ladies should be involved in such activities. Apparently, Aurelia was considered a young lady and she complied to what her Mother told her but she always envied those girl who could play when she couldn’t do such. She envied Emma for that too.

A Vial of Trouble
With her arms down inside of her lap clasping each others to stay warm, she proceeded to kick the stools her the rear of her foot looking at the cauldron from time to time with that same curious look. She still couldn't understand who could go to the trouble to lose their own memory and still continue to be fine with it.
Looking outside the doorway for the professor, she sighed mentally. The professor wasn't coming anytime soon, she had to face the facts. If dinner had already started, she couldn't tell. Her stomach begged for food, but she had to wait. Wait another 40-45 minutes for the stupid (pun intended) potion to complete the first brewing process. She couldn't complete two steps in one step; opening the lid and dropping it inside, she was way too fast.
The laughter of the Gryffindor rang inside of her head, replaying over and over again. It was needless to say, she hated being teased by everyone. Boys, girls, her parents, and even her older cousins. A small frown appeared on her face. "It's also not right to forget the experiences that shaped you, but here we are now."
"You really want to lose your memories, don't you," Emma said, shrugging, wiping the frown off of her face. Of course, this was partly acting, but she didn't have to tell Aurelia, she never did and was not about to start now. "I'm not stopping you, just know I'm here to talk to the professor, not to sabotage your potion. Even though I still plan on doing that." She said, shrugging.
Listening to Aurelia rant about Quidditch, she rolled her eyes. "You know damn well you care about Quidditch, Aurelia. Do you know how many times I've seen you at the Quidditch Pitch, supposedly just watching? I don't believe it whatsoever." Emma pushed the topic on. She didn't believe a single word she had said since the day she, Evelyn, and Morgan tried to organize a match with Aurelia.
"Have you ever decided what happens when Quidditch season starts?" She asked, raising her voice.

A Vial of Trouble
[font=Bodoni Monotype] Aurelia could feel the frustration rising when the Ravenclaw pushed to topic further. The girl shifted in her seat when Emma mentioned that she planned on ruining the potion. Now that the lid was still on, Aurelia had nothing to worry about but she would later ensure that the girl doesn’t do such.
“I thought you were smart Emma. Hasn’t professor Valtome taught you that it depends on the amount consumed to wipe out a degree of memories. Do you really think that I would chug down this whole vail once I’m done? I don’t plan on forgetting any of my precious memories. I’m responsible in what ever I do, Emma. So like I said, you have nothing to worry about.” The girl said sternly, warning Emma not to press the topic further. It was by far the truth except that she didn’t plan on forgetting anything besides those panic attacks and painful flash backs.
Why did Emma of all people had to be here when she was. It wasn’t a surprise that people had seen her sitting in the stands. She likes to sit there to do her revision actually, the library and study hall sometimes we’re just filled with too many students. But she’d often get distracted.
A smirk formed on her face when Emma ask what she thought would happen when Quidditch season starts. “Gryffindor would kick your butt, obviously.” she chuckled. It wasn’t of her usually to make such jokes, but sometimes she just had to have a little fun.
“Alright, you got me Emma,” Aurelia said sacarstically with a dramatic pout. Then let out an exasperated sigh, she was obviously not going to tell Emma the truth, she’d never trust a two-faced girl like her.
“It just, it’s impossible for me to be on the team that I’d rather not engage in any of their activities.” Aurelia lied, though it pained her to do so, she knew herself that she was an agile beater. One who could dodge those blushers but also one who could give someone a good bruise.

A Vial of Trouble
Despite the coldness of the classroom, she felt her cheeks begin to boil slowly. Sure, calling her smart was an overstatement, but she didn't like it to be said out loud. In fact, the only reason she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw was because of her creativity... and she was a slight perfectionist, but that wasn't exactly the point.
However, she merely shrugged with her eyes slightly narrowed, biting back her words that threatened to escape her mouth. She couldn't contain herself when Aurelia had managed to get the last sentence out of her mouth. "It's hard to tell what you'll ever do if I'm being honest." She said sarcastically, in an octave higher than usual, ending the topic herself. It was clear she wanted to change the subject, after all, this was about the mental state of Aurelia, not herself. Still, she couldn't explain the joy she felt inside of her when she saw Aurelia shift in her seat.
Rolling her eyes, she shook her head jokingly. "Don't you want to get in on that?" She asked, clapping her hands to her face, putting on a shocked look. It wasn't hard. She liked the idea of hitting bludgers towards the Gryffindor during a game, in fact, she would have done it both this and last year if she weren't sitting in the stands.
It had finally seemed that Aurelia was given in, for that she smiled slightly, throwing one more glance at the cauldron. Why would time just pass by... and why was she easier to talk to than some of her own friends?
Aurelia didn't want to 'engage' in Quidditch. It seemed odd coming from someone who was constantly seen outdoors on the Quidditch Pitch. Despite if she wanted to play or not, she knew it would have been fun to practice, even if you didn't like the sport. How hard was it to fly on a broom, and possibly play one of the positions like Keeper? It didn't require any athletic abilities, at least, besides possessing expeditious reflexes. Unlike her, she believed it.
"Not even Keeper?" Emma asked once more, pushing the topic. She crossed her arms and looked at the jars and vials of ingredients. Perhaps she could have sabotaged the potion with one of those. Of course, she was overthinking everything. She enjoyed asking questions, especially with her. Emma had the questions and Aurelia had answers, despite if they were false or not.

[font=bodoni monotype] Just roughly about twenty minutes more should the potion be done brewing. Then she could add a few punches of the crushed mixture, stir it a few times, pour the contents into a vail and make her way to the great hall. If she was lucky enough there would be some food left, but if she wasn’t, she would just have to do with the snacks in the dormitory.
“Not even a keeper. I’m not strong and agile enough for any of the roles. Neither do I want to be hit by bludgers.” Aurelia frowned as she spoke and looked away. She was lying, but also lying about herself, she hated doing so as it made her look weak. She knew clearly that she could fit a chaser or a beater perfectly. However, her parents would be very disappointed. Conservative they were, it felt as if her parents had been living in the renaissance, or at least her Mother, her Father was more lenient, he had played quidditch when he was younger.
“I assume you’re going to be on Ravenclaw’s team? I wonder what role suits you best.” Aurelia pushed the topic towards the girl. It was now her turn to be the center of attention.

Emma's head shifted insignificantly at the mention of Aurelia not apart of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Sure, she had never actually seen her engage in the sport, but what else was she going to do, play Gobstones for the year? Not that there was anything wrong with the game, but it didn't seem plausible. Sucking up the question for next time, she sighed, waiting impatiently for the potion to finish its elongated waiting time.
Narrowing her eyes slightly at her, she tried to think of anything to counteract her words yet nothing came to mind. Crossing her arms, she turned to the bubbling cauldron. She was obviously tempted to cast the spell again, it would only increase the heat, increasing the speed, wouldn't it? She hoped so, her stomach begging for food seemed to be the only noise supplying the hollow atmosphere along with their semi-casual conversation.
"I do not, I hadn't thought about it with all the work from Charms," she said, trying to push the topic away from Quidditch. She was going to be a beater on the team, but for now, all she could do was practice. She was going to get Aurelia out on the Quidditch Pitch one day. To fly. It just wasn't Quidditch until you had someone to target endlessly.
Homework, she smiled at that, well at least inside. Something she could talk about for hours and hours without running out of topics to bring up. "Flying is always fun, but I'm currently trying to gather up the strength to speak to him. Apparently, he played for the Tutshill Tornados. I'm excited to meet him." She beamed insincerely.

[quote]
[font=bodoni monotype]It was typical for a Ravenclaw it be more interested in studies than anything else. “Right,” Aurelia said giving her a slight nod of her head after Emma had made that staement. Aurelia would admit that without Emma’s presence in the potions room, she would have been dying from boredom while waiting for the 40 minutes to pass by.
Then Aurelia brought up another topic, one about meeting ‘him’ she was most likely referring to a professor. She had mentioned something about the Tutshill Tornados which Aurelia assumes was a quidditch team. Aurelia didn’t know many quidditch teams, they were only stated in books and was impossible to find out about them through the handy Google application on her phone. She used to read about them, when Raphael was still alive, he would lend her books secretly about the sport when her Mother banned her from touching any books from that category. But every since his death, her Mother had started all of them in the attic where she wasn’t allowed to go but it was the same place where she had found Raphael’s diary. Aurelia blinked the memories away, coming back to reality.
“Oh yeah... My Father used to play for Slytherin as a seeker when he was younger but quit when Draco Malfoy entered the team. He told me he couldn’t stand the threats Draco gave him even though he was much younger and therefore quit.” Aurelia told Emma. Even though her Father’s quidditch skills was nothing compared to an actual player, he was still the best Father ever. When Aurelia was much younger, her Mother or Father would often tuck her to bed every night. Thellea would always tell her Daughter stories in German in order for the young child to improve in that language. Aurelia’s Father’s stories were the ones she liked better, he would often tell her stories about his time in Hogwarts, how he had met Thellea and how they fled from death eaters during that time of war.
“So Emma, you’re a Hill, I haven’t heard much about that last name. Is your Father a muggle or your Mother?” She has asked. Emma hadn’t talked much about her family. Previously in the library, Aurelia had spilled her guts and a few personal secrets mostly because she was emotional at that period and was taken advantage of. It was foolish of her. But now it was Emma’s turn.

Of course, she still mentioned Quidditch. She found it ironic, though she didn't want to play in the games, she still had no problem speaking about it. Though it was hard to admit, it was kind of confusing her completely, perhaps it was the fumes of the potion seeping through the lid of the cauldron. School cauldrons, certainly.
"Interesting," she said rapping her fingers on the desk. Seeker was far too serious, she never fancied being pressured for doing something she profoundly enjoyed. She believed every word that issued from her mouth. After all, the disgraceful Draco Malfoy had formerly worked with the Dark Lord himself, willingly. She believed the threats, but she couldn't see Aurelia taking her uncle's spot. She wasn't in Slytherin, nor was she small enough to fulfill her stereotyped position. One thing still seemed peculiar. An older student being teased by a younger student. Undoubtedly, she wouldn't have listened to the small child, but it was Draco after all. It was almost like a male version of Aurelia, except she wasn't completely evil.
In his years, both her father and his brother played Quidditch together. Both beater and keeper who fouled almost every other game, well her uncle, the beater, anyways. Even though they dropped out around their sixth year at Hogwarts, she still wanted to keep her tradition alive. Not everyone had the talent to play professional Quidditch, at least her grandmother had played.
"My mother's a Muggle," she said suspiciously. Whatever she was up to scared her, but likewise, she tried crossing her arms. Later on, shifting many times in her position. "But she's from Puerto Rico." Aurelia spoke both Dutch and German, but she fluently spoke Spanish and for the most part some Italian from her father's side. "I suppose I've spent half of my life learning different languages, but I guess I've gotten used to it. My dad was never around anyways, so I just lived with my mum." It was true. Ever since she was six years old, she began to learn Spanish and at the age of ten, she began to learn Italian. "...Why?" She asked, catching herself.

A Vial of Trouble
[font=bodoni monotype] Aurelia listener intently about Emma’s history, a girl she hadn’t knew anything much about until now. So she was a half-blood, Aurelia wasn’t blood racist, though she still had her views on those of non-purebloods. Most, most of them weren’t useful for any beneficial political relationships in the future unless they had some muggle companies, which was highly unlikely. At least, the fun with them would only last until they’d graduate.
Aurelia was the only one in the Schütte generation, she had to carry the family’s company in the future. It used to be Raphael’s duty. But since Raphael had passed, the burden was transferred to the current oldest in the generation. However, Aurelia wondered if all her family members knew about her adoption. Her parents obviously knew, but they still didn’t know that Aurelia found that out. Only time would tell what would happen. For now, Aurelia’s duty in school was to make positive relationships with suitable people that would possibly benefit her family. Her maternal family to be specific. The Bezuidenhout, fortunately were more chill people, but were strict on the pureblood marriage ideology.
There wasn’t much she could benefit from Emma, politically and business like speaking. First of all, she never heard much about the Hill last name, it was quite a popular name in the muggle world but not so in the wizarding world. Secondly, Aurelia doubt Emma was interested in anything political. Still, it was sometimes entertaining to interact with her.
“Nothing much really, just...curious...” Aurelia let her last words trailed off a little. Aurelia couldn’t understand why a wizard would want to disgrace their family’s name by marrying a muggleborn. They’d use their heart but forget to use their brains. The Pureblood status would then be forever lost and there was no undoing it. It was interesting to hear about Emma not seeing her Father most of the time. Perhaps he was embarrassed by his own actions, at least Aurelia would be if she ever married a muggle, even if she was the love of her life, she would have disgraced the family that had raised her.
Time had passed quickly, Aurelia lifted the lid of the cauldron. The potion was about done, just a few more steps and it’ll be completed. The girl, removed the cauldron from the stand, hanging from the handle, Aurelia brought it along with a tub of dry ingredients four tables away from where Emma stood. That way she wouldn’t be able to do anything stupid.

A Vial of Trouble
Emma relished being a Half-blood, she got to see both sides of the Wizarding and Muggle world. Even though it would have been nice to be Muggle-born or even a Pureblood for a day, it was nothing compared to being half-blood. At school, she was just a mere wizard like everyone else, but at home with her mother, she was just another person inside of the town of Cambridge who wandered around, like everyone else... well, out in public anyways.
Sure, she performed magic sometimes throughout her summer break at home like when the power went out, whenever she needed to light a fire, and even softening her pillow at night whenever she pleased. Those were the only spells she had perfected, and she was lucky enough to light the fire that started the cauldron.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as Aurelia finished her words. Whether it was a way of mockery or just pure curiosity, it felt odd hearing her word the words she had said back in the library. Is she still thinking about it? She thought silently to herself, shaking her head slightly as she rolled her eyes. It was the Gryff's own way of caricaturing her, but she tried to tune her words out of her head. Of course, those words were going to stick.
While she knew Aurelia was (probably) a pureblood, she didn't understand why she needed to be asked the same thing. Love was love, and it didn't matter what their blood-purity was. Purity was such a corrupted word. It was like saying your blood was contaminated by Muggles, without doubt, she preferred Muggle-Borns. They had the purest of hearts, well, most of them at least. She had already made her own personal vows. Marry someone from Hogwarts or maybe even from Castelobruxo in Brazil. She didn't plan in staying in England, at least not in her adulthood.
Spinning around on the table she sat on, she faced the newly-located cauldron, fingering her wand. "Are you done?" She asked annoyed, drawing her wand and spinning it between her fingers dangerously. Small sparks threatened to hit her as she spoke, but she was sure to hold it down at her waist, away from her eyes.
Nonverbal spells would come in handy now, Professor... She thought to herself, unsure of the professor. Perhaps Charms, or Defense Against the Dark Arts, or even History of Magic in some cases. She had learned a spell in there, after all.
