IT IS THE BEST HOUSE!!!!! open Closed

Duvessa walked into the Library, hair slightly curled but mostly straight. An elegant black bow attached to it and a look of someone who seemed ready to taunt you. She had a sort of intimidating air in her, that made her severely desliked. The Library was a peaceful place, just you and hundreds of books. Well, almost. That was without mentioning the others who stuck their nose in.

She walked over to the Transfiguration section, peering at them out of the side of her eye. She caught sight of another student who was reading a book, presumebly not about work. The dark haired Slytherin looked at her wearily, yet expressing no direct contact with her. There was another day for that.

Transfiguration books were filled with science, complicated diagrams and much, much complex wording. She fingered a few of them, finally deciding on a medium one for her homework. Duvessa's sharp eyes pierced the tables before pondering on where to sit. They were mostly empty, and she figured it would be easiest to sit on the other end - her eyes targeted the chair in the corner, away from most students. Yes, she wasn't planning on picking any fights today. But it was usual that trouble would find her.

Attire: Usual school day attire: robes, shirt (buttons mismatched), tie (knotted around his left knee), kilt, neck ring, no shoes.

Colin skipped along the long row of high book shelves, humming to himself quietly. He had Clair on his mind, as always, and before he knew it he found himself approaching the transfiguration section. His satchel and kilts bounced merrily with each skipping step, and as he rounded the corner, a vaguely familiar scent met his nose. Some girl sat at the table, smelling slightly of the Slytherin common room. She wore a huge black ribbon in her hair, all done up like a very temptingly wrapped present. A temptingly wrapped first year!

Colin smirked as he stopped right behind the girl.

POP! He gave her black bow a solid flick with his left hand and laughed merrily. "Ayo Snakeling!" he said as he headed down along the table to find a seat. Apart from his housemate, the table was empty apart from a single Ravenclaw girl. Colin could tell she was a Ravenclaw instantly, apart from her robes, because she had loads of Ravenclaw bling. She was reading a book.

Colin tipped out the contents of his satchel onto the broad table top in front of the Ravenclaw girl. As he sat down, he began to sift through the debris of pencils, quills, bits of parchment, notebooks, hag stones, textbooks and other odds and ends. All the while, he had one eye on the Ravenclaw girl, gauging her response. At last he found something to read.

"So. Nice badge you've got there. Ravenclowns is the Best, eh?" He turned slightly and gave his fellow Slytherin a smile. He recognised her from around the common room and in the great hall. Who knows! She might be up for a bit chaos! "I mean, objectively speaking, Slytherins are the best. So what is it Ravenclowns are best at?"

Cassie stares at the Slytherin boy, he is a Slytherin second year. She is angry. She tries her best not to scream. 'Ravenclowns, how dare you call we Ravenclaws clowns? You, are from Slytherin right? Who doesn't know that Not a single bad guy isn't from Slytherin? Fighting each other, what is the purpose? I tell you, if you don't know this simple stuff by now, that without a nice grade, you will be able to do nothing in the future! And who has got the best grades? Us Ravenclaws! Well, I tell you, I have got Os in every homework of every subject since I entered Hogwarts. You? You? You must have got many Os too right? Slytherins must be as smart as us right?' She pauses to take a deep breath.

'And, you say Slytherins are the best, objectively didn't you? Do you have any evidence? Anything without evidence is fake, is just rubbish!' Cassie says, her face red with anger. 'And how dare you say Ravenclaws as Ravenclowns! This is disrespect to a house, and I do suppose, such lack of respect can only be taught as a Slytherin, right? Well, yeah, understandable, Slytherins never learns how to respect others, we will have to forgive them.'

Someone gave her bow a flick. She turned around sharply before her features relaxed slightly as she saw the boy she had met in the Slytherin Common Room adresssing her.
"Ayo Snakeling!" He called and Duvessa gave a tight smile in acknowledgment. He seemed to promptly sit down next to that girl and began to spill out all of his materials for studying. Duvessa, however, did not want to sit down next to that Ravenclaw, dressed up with so much Raven pride on her the Slytherin amused herself for a moment to think how silly Duvessa would look if she was wearing things like that.

A tempting remark slided against her lips. But it seemed that...Chrys? Colin? Whatever his name was, said it for her.
"So. Nice badge you've got there. Ravenclowns is the Best, eh?" At that point, Duvessa leaned on the bookshelf slightly, a smirk on her face. That boy meant chaos, she was sure. And now it was to see just how much he ruffled the bird's feathers. "I mean, objectively speaking, Slytherins are the best. So what is it Ravenclowns are best at?" He pressed and Duvessa tilted her head in agreement. For a while she had said nothing, but surely there was time to play with her a bit longer, no?

The girl looked angry. She at once began to speak a river of words, and Duvessa listened despite everything. She began to talk about how terrible Slytherins were and how much she completed homework. She listened with a bored expression.
"Now, girl," She adressed her as the Ravenclaw took a breath in between her words, "No need to show off. Who tells you that you're the only one here who gets straight O's?" She gave her a challenged look in her eye. That girl did seem to brag a lot.

Then, she began to talk again quickly, talking about proof of them being the best and commenting about how they never learn to respect each other.
"And yet, " She began lazily "I should remind you who won the house cup two months in a row." She gave her a serene smile, which no one could confuse with a fake one. Her eyes met Colin's and she winked.

Her face began to get red with anger.
"Cool down!" She said, before turning the seemingly kind comment into a sharp phrase, " Listen I don't want an argument. Lets agree to disagree." She paused, wondering once again what was the Ravens reaction.

Elizabeth had a nice day. She was in her blue robes bearing a Ravenclaw badge and eagle (on the badge clearly states, "always the proud Ravenclaw")when she entered the library. Choosing a good book, she sat next to another Ravenclaw girl whom she didn't really notice who it was at first. Glancing nearby, she saw it was Cassie. Not wanting to disturb her, she simply continued to read, minding her own buisness.
There were footsteps nearby, and Colin appeared.
"So. Nice badge you've got there. Ravenclowns is the Best, eh?" He said to Cassie, "I mean, objectively speaking, Slytherins are the best. So what is it Ravenclowns are best at?"
Keep you temper down! Whispered a furious voice in her ear.
"Ravenclowns, how dare you call we Ravenclaws clowns? You, are from Slytherin right? Who doesn't know that Not a single bad guy isn't from Slytherin? Fighting each other, what is the purpose? Another Slytherin girl appeared from nowhere.

Cassie slowly began to rise with anger, so did Elizabeth. Keep your head down, mind your own buisness! She thought wildly, trying to shut her ears down.
"Cool down!" the girl said, "Listen I don't want an argument. Lets agree to disagree."
Elizabeth stood up, knocking over her chair with delibrate force.
"Agree to disagree?" Elizabeth spluttered, "Agree to disagree? He started it," she pointed at Colin, "and he'll be the one to disagree and agree or whatever." She looked at Colin, unable to throw anything at him, she simply sat down.
I hate Slythertins, she thought, Tin-heads, they are. Well... except one. She punched herself at the thought of Colin and looked down at her book.

Colin's eyes widened as the Ravenclown lit into him! A smile broke out on his face! "How dare I! Lassie, you look like a wee teapot all aboil! Steaming and bubbling away! Mind ye don't blow yer top off!" Oh, he could tell she was angry --- Colin had clearly struck a nerve by calling her house 'Ravenclown'. He had no idea what this girl's name was, but he'd already found one lever to pull! She looked like an angry sparrow chirping at a dragon!

The birb asked him if he was Slytherin or not. Colin smirked. He gathered up his kilts and put his long skinny left leg up on the table. He waggled his toes at the Ravenclaw girl. Right in front of her. He pointed to his knee, for that was where he had done up his neck tie. "Obviously." From the corner of his eye saw that his housemate had decided to come over and join him. He was pretty sure he remembered her name now --- Duvessa something. Coals. No. Hearthcake. No. Embers! That was it! Embers! Anyway, clearly he thought correctly of her. So many of his female housemates were veritable queens of chaos!

The Ravenclaw blathered on about grades. Well, here she had Colin dead to rights. Deep down, he knew that he was really an Occamy at heart --- half Slytherin, half Ravenclaw --- and he loved learning! "Calm yerself lass! No one's saying you birbs don't get good grades!" Of course Ravenclaw got good grades! Wasn't his own girlfriend one that house's best students? Hopefully neither of these firsties knew Clair! He nodded towards Embers, in response to her wink. "It is simply the case that my learned colleague here has touched the matter right on the nose! Embers is correct: we have won the house cup twice in a row this year, and more, we've won it thrice all together!"

Just about then, another kid joined them. Ravenclaw, of course! Another deluded soul wearing over the top Birb pride bling! Colin removed his leg from the table and hooked it over the arm of his chair. "Ah! My dear Embers! Another Sparrowclaw comes to join our discussion!" She didn't seem to notice, for she and the first Ravenclown were going at it, about respect for other houses and cooling it down and agreeing to disagree! Colin was rather surprised! He had thought for sure that his housemate would be up for some friendly interhouse teasing!

Colin was about to teach the first girl all about respect when the second one, all bright lemon yellow hair, all but exploded with ire! Furniture and books went flying as the firstie stood up, shaking with indignation! "Agree to disagree!? He started it!" Colin's eyes widened briefly as she pointed at him!

"Moi!? What did I do?" Colin stood up as yellow hair seemed like she was going to attack! He watched her carefully to see if either were going to try and pull their wands out. "All I did was state the plain truth! Of course, Ravenfeathers get good grades. We get more good grades! Obviously, you lot like to study. But I'll outstudy any birb any day! And as for respect, Miss Tempest in a Tea Kettle, we of House Slytherin earn our respect every day at Hoggys!"

Colin nodded emphatically, smoothed out his kilts and sat back down. "That's the end of that argument! Clearly, one thing the Turkeyclowns are best at is getting angry! Clear victory for us," he said, making a slight hand gesture towards Duvessa.

Elizabeth began shouting furiously, claiming to not want to agree to disagree. She tilted her head in amusement.
"Indeed, the bird has had its feathers ruffled for today. I and I, unlike you, would prefer to keep my voice down. I mean, I'm quite happy to wave to a Prefect and let them join our lovely....book party. Having a detention would be quite interesting, I've never had one before. But I'm pretty sure you can show me the ropes with that!" Duvessa made a bit of a speech, yet not as long as the one that Cassie had uttered. She had included quite a lot of spite in those words, but masked it with a tantalising smile and voice as calm as the...well, sea? Was it calm anyway?

She nodded in agreement to Colin about good grades. She didn't add anything to that, feeling that all was said.
"Ah! My dear Embers! Another Sparrowclaw comes to join our discussion!" Duvessa turned sharply, and saw another girl in Ravenclaw pride that seemed to be ready to start shouting. She exchanged half amused, half incredeclous look with Colin. They seemed to be taking this way to seriously. But Duvessa played slyly.
"Pleasure to meet you, dear bird." She empthesised the word dear as though it was contagious, "I'm Duvessa. And your name is?" She inquired, a mock smile on her face, "Really, you two aren't in the mood for a chat, or a little teasing." The Slytherin said, pretending to be shocked.

The second girl stood up. Fists clenched and anger showing furiously, she began blaming Colin. He responded the Slytherin way. She gave yet another sign of agreement and flipped the book open to another page. But something was telling her to leave.
"....Clear victory for us," Colin was saying and gestured towards her. She responded with a smirk towards their direction.

───── Lilliana strolled through the tall oak doors of the Library, taking a long look around the space. To one side sat the bookshelves, and the other was the seating area, to where Lilliana glimpsed a group of students having a conversation of some sorts in the section. Setting out to find a book, she went into the narrow space between the towering shelves.

Surprisingly, it didn’t take long to find a book of interest for the first year, Lilliana swiftly pulling the book out and heading over to a table, which was right next to where the group of students were talking. Wait, no, they were arguing. About what? It didn’t take long to find out.

Lilliana had sat down, opening up her book and began to read but soon enough, she was interrupted by the voices behind her. Turning around in her chair, she could make out familiar faces in the people there. She smiled at Duvessa one of her friends. Colin was there too, who she knew through snogs and lake encounters. She gave a curt nod to them. Along with the Slytherin’s, was an unfamiliar Ravenclaw, and…oh.

A certain Ravenclown caught her eye as well. Cassie, wasn’t it? They had met earlier, at the Library itself a while ago, and had come to a… disagreement, putting it lightly. Cassie wearing an excessive amount of Ravenclaw baubles, which Lilliana giggled softly at, “That’s a lot of bling you’re wearing!” Lilliana smirked slightly at her remark, “That much Ravenclaw, though?” Lilliana said airily, voicing the thing surely everyone must have been thinking.

Lilliana turned fully around on her chair, getting herself into a more comfortable position. Pale blond hair swishing behind her gracefully, she set her gaze on the unfamiliar one. Lilliana nodded to them in greeting, “I’m Lilliana Havenmore, by the way,” She said, as a brisk introductory statement. “Uh, Ravenclown too, I presume?” She said, raising an eyebrow momentarily before grinning and winking at the two snakes..

"I'll be looking forward to tell Clair that," Elizabeth shouted back at him, "so apparently we are turkeys." She turned around and waved over Colin's shoulder. "Hiya Clair," she said smoothly, "Didn't expect ta see ya here today. Colin and i were just having this little chat, ya know..." She smirked.
"Pleasure to meet you, dear bird," said the girl.
"Well that's the first sign you've shown repect," Elizabeth nodded, "Birds, we are. We are free to fly. You're free to... slither, stuck to the ground."
"I'm Duvessa," she said, :And your name is?"
"I'm Elizabeth," Elizabeth said, eyes flashing, "Elizabeth Sunrise."
She did not hear what Duvessa said next, she was too focused on Colin's reaction.
Just then another girl sat down nearby. Slyther-tin-head. Gosh. She must be half veela.
Well she hasn't got half the brains we have, Elizabeth thought, Slythertin...
"That's a lot of bling you're wearing," she told Cassie.
Elizabeth minded her own buisness, or at least tried to.
"That much Ravenclaw, though?"
"Aren't we allowed to show our colours?" Elizabeth asked.
"I’m Lilliana Havenmore, by the way," she said, "Uh, Ravenclown too, I presume?"
"No," Elizabeth said, "I'm Ravenclaw, and I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. Perhaps you're looking for someone else?" She mocked a questioning look, "Ah, well. I know you're a Slythertin," she said kindly, "I'm Elizabeth Sunrise. An absolute not-pleasure to meet you."
Edit: So Colin got detention. Satisfied? Maybe. But not yet.
