Filled with books from the floor to the roof, the library is one of the most impressive rooms at Hogwarts - perhaps excluding the castle itself, which felt enormous. The placement, the lake, the building mechanism - a castle that had been standing for a thousand year, could anything be more impressive? It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but Lancelot Pemberton would like to know what spells and maintenance makes the castle stand safe and sound after all the time.
But the truth is that no matter how impressive the castle is, Lance can't help but miss everything at home. His parents and his own room and his old school and... well, at the moment mostly everything. He's been at Hogwarts for almost a month now as September is soon turning to October, but he's already had time to go up and down with his feelings. Hogwarts is cool, and learning magic is cool, but it's taken him time to get used to everything and it's still sometimes too much for him.
Usually, the library can help him focus on other things with all the books, but not even that is working today. He misses just everything about how things used to be. For the moment, he's sitting alone at a table in the corner of the area, trying to read with little success and probably looks a bit troubled as everything feels heavier than other days. He's wearing his school uniform. Classes are over for the day, this Thursday, but it's not yet dinner.

Sunny was never too keen on visiting the library. All the homework she forgot about was piling up and she had to finally stop procrastinating. She had to walk around to even find where each section was located. While walking around feeling clueless about where or how she should start her schoolwork, Sunny noticed a boy in Ravenclaw robes reading on his own. It was not hard to figure out that he was feeling a bit down.
The Slytherin wanted to attempt cheering him up at least a little but being in the library required staying quiet while doing so. She decided to hide behind a bookcase as she tried to come up with a solution. Her pockets were usually filled with various trinkets and the first thing her fingers touched when she put her hand in, gave her the perfect idea.
It was a long, slender, brightly coloured balloon which she inflated after pulling out of her pocket. After being twisted and bent numerous times, the balloon was skillfully reformed into the shape of a dog.
With quiet steps, she approached the boy from behind. Once she got close enough, Sunny reached her hand out and put the balloon animal on the table. It took her great effort not to giggle in that moment. With a silly smile on her face she waited for his reaction with great curiosity.

As Lance sits deep in his thoughts, a balloon is suddenly placed in front of him, interrupting his thoughts (probably for the better). it takes a second for him to register what is happening, but then he turns around to where it came from to see a Slytherin girl in a good mood, which is nice because he needs something to raise his own mood. The book or the library clearly isn't helping, and all that has happened until now is his thoughts drifting away to everything that makes it so hard. To his family and to the last letter he sent that hasn't received an answer yet, which is hard when he's used to quickly reaching his family when he needs through a phone.
"Did you make that?" he asks curiously, skipping any greeting or introduction. He has seen balloon animals before, but he's never understood how they stay in their shape instead of untwisting. He's tried, probably with the wrong kind of balloons, and when it didn't turn back to a simple balloon, it popped and scared him. This one stayed in its shape very well. He picks it up and looks at it, then back to the girl, whose smile is enough to make him feel at least a little bit better.
