May 29, 2023It was a nice Monday afternoon. Ara wanted to do her math worksheets in a place other than the library or her dorm so she chose the Great Hall to study math. Ara has been tutored by a muggle tutor on regular muggle subjects: Math, Science and its branches, Geography, and English. When she went to hogwarts however, her mother just sent the books, lessons, and worksheets she needs to read or do that week and she just sends them back to be checked by her tutor.
The ravenette sat down at the end of the Slytherin table and put down her learning materials. Ara started working on Science, the lesson for the week was just about physics. Then it was geography, she learned about muggle political systems. After that it was English, just analysing a poem. Piece of cake! Now, it was time for her favourite subject. Math. Ara heard that most muggles hate it but nonetheless she loves it.
It was just algebra. Ara wrote her solutions on a piece of paper. She read how to do it, understood the examples, and answered the worksheet. The girl finished in no time and looked around. She saw a girl struggling with a paper. At first Ara thought it was just homework until she had a little look at the paper. It was a math worksheet! "Is that Math? Need help or something?" Math?
Cassie loves Muggle subjects, at least when she hears of them. She has heard of Maths, a muggles' compulsory subject long ago, however, she never really had the chance to do some. in her opinion, Maths is just calculation, which is easy. She can do calculations without needing to write in a short time. However, when her muggle friend send her some muggle questions this morning, she realizes she is wrong.
She opens the envelope in the afternoon, she takes it to the Great Hall to do. There are three questions in all.
Just then, another girl walks to her and asks to help. 'Yes, this is Maths. It's the first time for me to read math problems. I don't know how to solve them. Yes, I need help.'

Cassie stares at the questions, puzzled. She can't understand them at all. These are Math problems? Oh dear! How lucky I am to be a witch. She thinks.One. If there are some peaches given to some kids. If each kid receives 6 peaches, 5 peaches are left. If each kid receives 8 peaches, there will be a lack of 13 peaches. How many kids are there? How many peaches?
Two. If there is a train. It goes past a bridge 200 metres in length and uses 20 seconds. And it uses 10 seconds to go past a post. How long is the train?
Three. If there is a boat. From A to B, it spends 5 hours. From B to A, it spends 7 hours. The length from A to B is 70 kilometres. How fast is the speed of the water?

June 12, 2023Ara shrugged and sat on the table next to the paper. She turned the paper in her direction to make it easier to read. The ravenette read the paper and studied the questions for a few seconds, "Oh, this is quite easy actually. Judging by your difficulty, I'm guessing you were born in a wizarding family." she says to the girl. Ara clears her throat, "Good Afternoon, I am Ara Villa of house Slytherin ready to be your tutor this evening. Try not to be like my brother..please" The girl introduced herself with a monotone voice and a straight face. She wasn't that good at introducing herself but that intro was good enough for her. Ara felt a little more energetic than usual so she offered to teach the girl maths.
The ravenette went to her workspace and got her stuff into her bag and went to the other girl again. Ara took out a blank sheet of paper. "We should start with the basic operations first though," The ravenette now started explaining the four basic operations and the use of PEMDAS. It took about 30 minutes. "Now you know the basics, let's now start with #1, as most people do.'If there are some peaches given to some kids. If each kid receives 6 peaches, 5 peaches are left. If each kid receives 8 peaches, there will be a lack of 13 peaches. How many kids are there? How many peaches?'" Ara says, as she writes the problem on the paper. "So if you give each kid 6 peaches, there 5 five left right? And if you give each of them 8 then 13 are left. Right now, our problem looks like this" The ravenette shows the girl the paper and explains why is it arranged like that.
"So what's 5 plus 13? 18 right? And what's 8 minus 6? 2. Then now it is 18 divided by 2" Ara solves the problem as she was talking. She looks at the girl, "It's your turn now, What is 18 divided by 2?"(5+13) ÷ (8-6)RP Word Count:345/200 Sorry if it seemed vague, I wanted to make it as short as possible because it will be very long if I didn't keep some parts vague
