The four duellists proceeded with desperate plays the sixth year figured as he watched what was going on in the last few moments of this duel. Dmitri appeared to be getting nervous as his split spells went astray, whereas Ruby didn't face a much better fate, though better than that of her ally for sure as their spell connected with Aida, returning the favor by pushing over the storm cloud with a quite violent Ventus, that even lashed out against Ruby. The cloud struck and hit the reigning king of vipers, as Delilah found her wand.

It was something in the air. Aida knew that it was time to move the thundercloud back over to the opponent’s side, and just as it arrived, lightning struck. Who could say what the connection might have been for the albino at that moment, but it certainly made Aida think of another who bore two lightning-shaped scars.

Ruby had been concentrating on casting a spread Ventus when she suddenly had to dodge a spell—one that seemed to be a rogue cast from Dmitri. “Careful,” she warned with a scowl. Luckily, she had still managed to squarely hit one of the Ravenclaws and dodge Dmitri’s spell, or she would have been even more irritated. “Control yourself,” she muttered anyway, although whether Dmitri actually heard the second comment directed at him would depend on how much attention he was paying to her.

Her annoyance, while not lessened, was quickly redirected to the Ravenclaws as Delilah retrieved her wand, the other Ravenclaw’s Ventus stung Ruby, and Dmitri got struck by lightning from the Metelojinx that their team had originally cast. This was just great. A quick glance at Dmitri to check how badly he was hurt ascertained that he seemed to be fine—he was still standing and didn’t seem to be in horrible pain, at least. Still, it was getting to the end of the match, and they couldn’t afford to have things turn against them in these final, crucial moments. Her expression hardened, the frustration and tension she was feeling in this moment full of temporary setbacks motivating her to ready herself and keep her mind clear. The Slytherins were still ahead, but she had to keep it that way. Letting her emotions affect her too much could impact her spellcasting, and that just wasn’t acceptable when the win was almost within reach.

Missing spells, electrocution; one would think this has to be the worst Dmitri has performed this match yet. However, even after most of what had transpired favoring the Ravenclaws completely, the mere fact not even a Metelojinx injured him enough for the Slytherin to pay it any mind told him they were only delaying the inevitable.

As the rounds are slowly coming to a close, it seemed like this was yet another victory in their hands.

Delilah spent the round picking up her wand, it hadn't flung itself too far away from the ravenclaws grasp so it thankfully only took her a moment to spin around and grab it, luckily dodging a couple of spells in the mean time. It was nice to have her wand back in her hand again, right where it belonged.

As the duel moved toward the end, Ravenclaw seemed to regain some strength, the question was whether it was enough? Alan did wish them luck, as Delilah showcased what a wonderful healer she was. Aida however struggled to get a hit on the viper, Dmitri who had in return no problem with striking the eagle with a wind jinx. That left Ruby who must have expected to be the target of something this round, however her shield charm did not aid her this round, despite being cast well enough. The cloud seemed to have calmed down a little, after letting lightning rain down on the vipers, however it was now back above the pair of eagles. Hovering over them like a bad omen.

[Spectator Thread, Day 2: Afternoon]

While Aida had a momentary thrill of pleasure from the success of their lightning, the moment was short-lived. Ultimately this would become Aida’s worst and least enjoyable duel to date, crippled most of the time as they were by a full-body bind curse despite their claustrophobia. It was the white wix’s hope that they could still turn things around and use this duel to become stronger overall.

Its the Final Braincell Nee noo nee noo... nope wrong one. It was the final round though and this was... still kind of one sided but del had her fingers crossed that some sort of miracle could happen, she wasn't a particularly religious person although her granny was catholic, she hadn't tried prayer in a few years now but at this moment she vowed that if they won this, she would start going to church again when she was back home.

This duel was getting long enough, and by the looks of it, finishing it seemed to just be a formality at this point. Stretching where he stood, the Slytherin duelist craned his neck to find where the nearest exit was.

He really just wanted to go back to the dorm and sleep.

It turned out Ruby’s Protego wasn’t needed—a bit of a waste of a good spell, but it didn’t really matter at this point. The Slytherins were so close to the victory, they just had to finish it off. She saw Dmitri yawn and honestly felt similarly. The duel had become boring, stretching out for far too long, and she just wanted to claim the victory and leave.
