A Black Cat Named Faust
Diagon Alley became more crowded as Key exited Ollivanders with his parents. He finally completed all the things he need for his upcoming school and was planning to go back home when he spotted a pet store close by. He begged his parents to have his first pet, which they agreed because Key need a companion with him just in case if he'll end up alone with no friends in Hogwarts. "We'll wait outside for you instead," His father said as he bring out 20 galleons out of his dark blue pouch and gave it to him, "Make sure you pick the right pet for you." Key nodded before putting the coins in his pocket and head inside.
The store's indoor was really cramped; there's a lot of cages filled with different kind of pets surrounding him. The place is quite smelly and noisy because of the animals there, which he didn't mind at all, but he really need to get out of this place as fast as he can due to his fear. He head toward the counter, where he was greeted by the shopkeepers there. "I'm looking for a cat." Key told them, "What kind of cats do you have here?" He wished for a cat for so long and finally had the opportunity to get one. The elderly woman gave him a warm smile before answering his question. She's quite short; close to Key's height, and was wearing a beautiful floral dress. "We have a Silver Siberian, different kinds of tabby cats, Egyptian Mau, Bengal, Chartreux, Siamese, and Bewitched Night Stalker."
"Bewitched Night Stalker?" Key repeated, seemingly interested at that type of cat because of its name. It really sounds cool to him. "Can I see them?" The elderly man with a side whiskers nodded and led him to the cage nearby the counter. The cat is just a normal black cat that he can probably buy from a muggle pet store, but then the cat's enchanting grey eyes met with his eyes and somehow they clicked together through those contact. "I want this cat here," he said to the old man, pointing at the black cat, whom he notice, purring out of happiness after the eye contact. "How much do I need to get him?"
The elder man chuckled, "That tom cost a lot of galleons, 18 galleons I must say. Are you sure about it?" Key nodded, taking out the 20 galleons his father gave him to buy a pet, paying for his new cat and its needs at the counter. "The cat is about seven months old now," The nice-looking elder woman informed, "Do you have a name for him in mind?" A name? Key wasn't prepared naming his new cat. The woman saw him panicked from staying a bit longer in the store than he intended to, for his fear of small spaces started to grow, and decided to give him a sugar cookie to calm him down, which worked somehow. He finally came up with a name once he finished the cookie.
Faust. It means fortunate, or enjoying good luck in Latin. The black cat meowed when he heard his new name. "It seem like he like his new name," The elder man smiled as he write down Faust on his pet registration book, "From now on, he's official your pet." Key smiled back at the two shopkeepers, "Thank you Mr.." He was struggled figuring out their name since he didn't asked them who they were. "It's Mr and Mrs. Witticker, dear boy." Mrs. Witticker replied, giving him the cat carrier with Faust now inside it, "Now go on, show your new cat to your parents." He thanked again to the elder couple, bowing down gratefully before exiting the shop. Once he's finally free from the cramped shop, he met up with his parents who were waiting for him. "We put all your stuffs already in my extendable bag." His mother said to him in Japanese and then looking at the cat carrier Key was holding, "Is that a black cat?" Key nodded in response. "Yes, I named him Faust, Faustus Vickers."
