Sorting Ceremony Sept 2022

Jo walked nervously into the Great Hall. The chatter of students from all tables frightened her and excited her simultaneously.
She had longed to go to hogwarts ever since she had gotten the letter, and was still a bit hurt that her father had hidden everything from her, but Jo had since forgotten that.
She walked in between the tables, heart pounding, footsteps echoing.
Hopefully I'm in Ravenclaw
She thought, as she gazed at that same table. Students dressed in robes hemmed with blue chatted, read, and some were even sound asleep.
She walked towards the hat, anxious. She stood in line for what seemed like ages until her name was finally called.
"Jo Styler!"
Rang a voice from the table. Jo walked nervously towards the hat, trembling head to tow. She placed it on, anxiously, and could hear it whispering into her head.
"Smart, yes.. kind to others, loyal. Hmm.
You will do well in HUFFLEPUFF!!"
Jo took off the hat, fingers trembling, and slowly walked to the table amidst a shatter of applause. Not what she had expected. Definitely not. But it could be worse. Actually, Jo didn't mind any of the four houses. If she could choose, she would rather be a ravenclaw or even slytherin, but a Hufflepuff was 3rd on her list. It wasn't too bad.

Mark was nervously waiting for his turn to be sorted. He had no idea what house the sorting hat would put him in. He kept on glancing at his brother at the Hufflepuff table and wondered if he'd be sorted into the same house as him. When it was finally his turn, he went towards the Sorting Hat and sat down. Before the hat was placed on his head, he wondered if it'll take long to sort him. When the hat was placed on his head he became very nervous. Now Mark really wondered what house he'll be put in.

"I hope I'm in Gryffindor. But, Hufflepuff is fine too." Mark thought
"You hope to be in Gryffindor, ay. Well, lets see. That could work, but I would say Hufflepuff is a better fit, or maybe Gryffindor. Ah, which one to chose for you. You will do great in both houses. Ah, I know,"HUFFLEPUFF!" The sorting hat said in his mind than when he was sorted, yelled out Mark's house.

Mark took off the hat and happily walked over to the table. He decided to sit with his brother. He was happy he's in the same house as his brother. Now he can see him whenever he wants to. Mark is definitely going to hang out with his brother but also try to make some friends in his house and outside of his house.

"You know sometimes in life, things just ain't meant to be."

Violet stood amidst the crowd, her wide eyes scanning the grand hall in awe and a smile you couldn’t wipe away even if you tried. Her heart raced with anticipation as the Sorting Ceremony was about to begin. Although both her parents were Ravenclaws, she had an inkling that her destiny could be a bit different. Violet had expected to follow in their footsteps, but she was open to whatever fate had in store for her.

While Headmaster Solomon Lear introduced the Sorting Hat, Violet's excitement grew as did her smile. The hat's song filled the room, some people singing along, and applause to finish. The moment had arrived, she watched carefully as each student was called forward, their fate determined by this moment. Violet fidgeted in anticipation, her mind racing with thoughts of which House she might belong to.

Finally, her name was called, and Violet approached the front with a mix of nerves and excitement. The Sorting Hat was placed on her head, and she held her breath as the hat began to dive into her thoughts. After a brief pause, the hat's voice rang out declaring its decision.

"Hufflepuff!"

Surprise and delight washed over Violet as the Great Hall erupted in cheers. She smiled brightly, feeling a sense of belonging. Hufflepuff, the house of loyalty and hard work, seemed like a perfect fit for her nature. With newfound excitement, she joined her fellow Hufflepuffs at their table, ready to embark on her journey.

Willow-Rose looked around, feeling amazed by the Hogwarts Great Hall. What really caught her eye was the ceiling which it looked like the night sky. She spent so many minutes staring at it which made the others around give her stares, which she was sure that she is going to get so much over the course of the year, it always happen.

She looked at the tables where girls and boys in uniforms sat in four different tables. The robes were black but the other acessories were in four different colors. Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, she assumed that they are the houses.

Then she looked at the main table where the teachers sat and the headmaster sat proudly. She decided that she quite liked them, they all seems friendly enough.

Willow-Rose looked at the first years around there was not a one familiar face, all of them were strangers. Some looked happy, Some looked frightened and some looked like they were lost in their dreams. She was not sure what kind of mood that she was on though.

Then a teacher brought a hat and stood it on the stool. It sang a song, which gave Willow-Rose an idea about the houses. She thought that she would be in Ravenclaw since she was a bookworm.
Soon the names were called one by one they got sorted, Willow-Rose waited for her chance now feeling a bit nervous.

Suddenly she heard her name being called,

WOLFE, WILLOW-ROSE

She made it to the stool and put the hat over her head.

"Hmm, Brave, Valiant at heart and Clever, wher should I put you...... Ah, Yes...... it paused.
GRYFFINDOR!

She was surprised, but Willw-Rose made it to the Gryffindor Table where they were kind of cheering.
"I think I will love this house" She thought before she sat near the corner of the table.

Dane glanced all around him in awe. None of his previous schools had ever been as amazing or beautifully decorated as Hogwarts was. He watched as each one of the other first years were sorted into their houses, beginning to hope that he got into a good house.

His eyes scanned the hall, looking at almost each individual face that sat at their table and seeing that their eyes were on him and his peers. His stomach lurched and he felt like he could puke but with a hard swallow he was back to feeling some-what normal. Dane closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath, waiting for his name to be called.

"Dane Hawethorne!"

Taking one last deep breath he stepped towards the stool and sat upon it. As he placed the hat on his head he waited to hear what the others did.

"Ah a young muggle...welcome."

Dane thought about saying thank you, but he would have felt silly doing so. Regardless, it was like the hat could hear him and proceeded. "I sense your curiosity and determination. Slytherin might benefit you, but I sense something else... a loyalty I do not see in most. I think I know where to place you... GRYFFINDOR!"

Dane smiled to himself and placed the hat back onto the stool, jumping and sitting at the table with the others. He felt like he had finally belonged.

Willow was still in awe as she stood huddled up with all the other first years waiting for their names to be called. But her head was elsewhere she was looking up at the ceiling or well the sky? She couldn't quite understand it, but she supposed that was magic...But still it was extraordinary, the night sky full of twinkling stars...so breathtaking! The floating candles were spotted all over; she just really hoped they couldn't fall, just in case, she kept on glancing up at the on that floated above her head or well close.
'Not something you see every day...' she thought to herself and then added '...but it will be from now on I guess.'

"Blake, Willow!"

Her train of thoughts was directly cut of at the mention of her name. She blinked a little startled before remembering what she was supposed to do.
"Oh right, that's me!" She said raising her hand slightly and squeezing her way to the front. Her voice wasn't usually very loud, but it sounded like so; with all the silence, her voice echoed through the Great Hall.

Frozen by what she had done, her face quickly went tomato red she lowered her head and sat at the stool embarrassment and humiliation obvious on her now scarlet face.

'Why hello there!'[/color] Confusion struck her, she recognized the singing hat's voice. 'Well, well... Let's see...Brave at heart... Such loyalty... I'd say Gryffindor, but no... So much loyalty and a heart so big... I think you'll be a great...' "Hufflepuff!"

She smiled slightly thanked the hat as she placed it onto the stool before quickly strolling over to the yellow table.

Sunny walked into the the hall with the other first years, filled with excitement to start her new life as a young witch. She kept looking around in awe, the decorations of the school seemed quite peculiar for the Muggle-born child.

The other first years seemed to be much more interested in the sorting ceremony compared to Sunny. She barely knew anything about what each house meant, other than a few stereotypical comments she heard so far.

Hufflepuff seemed nice, Ravelclaw rather intelligent and Gryffindor the cool brave one. As for Slytherin, it was moreso mentioned poorly. Sunny didn't believe Hogwarts would actually have a "bad" house yet she was starting to feel some prejudice already.

It was fun watching the other students be called one by one and sorted to their houses. Waiting for her turn was starting make her feel almost anxious. The Sorting Hat eventually called her name.

"Pierrot, Sunny" when she heard her name, Sunny got up and felt the glances of the other students turn her way. With a smile on her face she went to sit down at the chair and held her breath for a moment as the Sorting Hat was put on her head.

"Hmmm... A strange one we have here. Quite whimsical indeed." hearing the hat talk about herself was an funny feeling. What was its words supposed to mean at all? "I know exactly where you belong..." the hat continued before declaring "SLYTHERIN!"

Sunny gasped, her brown eyes widened with surprise. She got up from the chair and walked towards the Slythering table, utterly confused about how the wise Sorting Hat made a decision like this.

Key waited patiently for his turned to be called by looking at the realistic-looking night sky ceiling in awe of the candles hanging there beautifully. It felt like hours standing there, since there were a lot of first years students like him gathering along in front of the platform where they'll be sorted into one of the four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin.

When he heard Mark's name being called, he stopped staring at the ceiling, looking at the boy as he walked up to the platform, sitting on the wooden stall before the Head Of House put the hat on him; within a few minute, the hat had decided to put Mark Myers in Hufflepuff. He felt a bit disappointed that his friend is now in his least favourite house, but he knew that he can't do anything about it.

A few names after Mark was called, it was finally his turn to be sorted by the hat. "Vickers, Naoki." He gulped when the Head of House called his name. The first years surrounding him stared at him as he nervously walked up to the platform before he sat on the stall, squirming at his seat as he waited for the sorting hat. "Hmm, Interesting." The Sorting hat said once it was placed on his head, "You have so much traits of Ravenclaw: Original, Creative, and Witty." The hat paused for a long time, making Key worried about the House he will end up in.

"Please, not Hufflepuff." He mumbled quietly to the point that no one can hear what he said. "Young one, I am making a decision whether to put you in Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor." The Sorting hat chuckled, somehow heard his mumbling, "You also have a daring personality like a true Gryffindor." Hearing the two houses being mentioned, both Gryffindors and Ravenclaws students were staring intensely at him from their representative table, hoping that he will be sorted into their house instead of another.

"Ahh.. Yes, I know where to put you in.. GRYFFINDOR!" He heard a loud eruption of cheers from the Gryffindor students after the hat's decision and headed to the Lion's table with a smug on his face. He sat next to an older student with a Prefect badge on his robe and some students gave him a high five or a pat at the back, congratulating him for being sorted into his new house. After the cheers calmed down, he watched the sorting continued, feeling satisfied about the house he's destined to be in.

After the ride on the boat in an awful thunderstorm, Edward was dripping wet and freezing. The amazing view they got of the castle had compensated a lot for the discomfort of the ride.
And now they were entering the Great Hall! Edward had read all about it of course, however, it didn't prepare him for the overwhelming sense of wonder he felt when they walked through the huge wooden doors.

The hall was huge! Thousands of candles were floating above them, the ceiling showing the dark night sky with stars already shining through the retreating thunderstorm clouds. Four very long tables were placed pointing his gaze to the table opposite the door, where supposedly the teachers were sitting. The tables were filled with a variety of foods Edward had not ever seen and it was so plentiful that he was worried how the students should eat all that.

Then the group of first years was directed to move towards the teacher's table. Only at the end of the path, Edward realized an old hat lying on a small stool. It looked worn and Edward wondered why it was there, when the big man in armor who had also welcomed all the students raised his voice.
Edward had snuck past him behind a tall student as he was feeling somewhat intimidated by the man.

He now learned that this man in armor was the headmaster, Solomon Lear. Lear introduced the Sorting Hat, that old hat lying on the stool, which to Edward's surprise could actually talk.
'course! It's a wizarding school! he thought to himself.
It could not only talk but obviously also sing and they listened to the song about the four houses. Edward still wished to get to Ravenclaw and given the hat's song, it was the most fitting to his character as well. He didn't consider himself brave or cunning and sometimes he wasn't really patient but he loved books and learning.

When it was his turn to get sorted, he walked up to the stool. He felt uncomfortable as the whole school's attention was upon him.
Ahh, I see, a witty mind, the hat started whispering in Edward's head, but I also see loyalty and nerve. You don't know it yet but you have a brave heart.
Please put me in Ravenclaw. Please! Edward thought.
Ravenclaw is your choice of mind? Mhh, I do agree. Much potential there indeed. You love books and learning. So if you are sure..
RAVENCLAW! the hat exclaimed and the students wearing blue cheered as Edward slowly walked over to take a seat. His stomach growled and he was happy to pile up the different foods he had never seen before.

As the Great Hall buzzed with anticipation, Katelyn’s heart raced with a mix of nervousness and excitement. It was finally time for the Sorting Ceremony, a moment she had been eagerly awaiting since receiving her acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Standing among a sea of new students, Katelyn couldn’t help but admire the grandeur of the hall. The enchanted ceiling painted a starry sky above, and the four long tables were filled with students from each house. The Sorting Hat, an ancient and wise artifact, sat atop a stool at the front of the room, ready to discern the destiny of each first-year student.

As her name was called, Katelyn approached the stool, feeling a mixture of trepidation and curiosity. As the Sorting Hat settled upon Katelyn's head, it began its assessment, its ancient voice resonating within her mind.

"Ah, Katelyn," the Sorting Hat began, its tone wise and contemplative. "I sense a deep well of intellect within you, a thirst for knowledge that knows no bounds. Your curiosity and analytical mind are remarkable, my dear. You possess a gift for unraveling the mysteries that lie hidden within the world."

"But there is more to you than just intellect," the Sorting Hat continued. "I sense a quiet determination, a drive to prove yourself and strive for excellence. Your desire for growth and self-improvement is commendable."

"RAVENCLAW!" The Sorting Hat declared, its voice carrying a sense of certainty. "Yes, that is where you shall thrive. In the house of the wise and clever, where your thirst for knowledge will be nurtured and celebrated. Among the creative and inquisitive minds of Ravenclaw, you will find your place."

As the Hat's words echoed throughout the Great Hall, Katelyn felt a surge of pride and excitement. She had always admired the intellectual pursuits of Ravenclaw and had longed to be a part of a community that valued learning and wit. Now, she had the opportunity to embrace that very essence as a Ravenclaw student.

With a smile on her face, Katelyn made her way towards the Ravenclaw table, greeted by the warm applause of her new housemates. The Sorting Hat's words resonated within her, filling her with a sense of purpose and belonging. She was ready to embark on her journey at Hogwarts, eager to delve into the vast depths of knowledge that awaited her as a member of Ravenclaw House.
