A Fresh New Start
"Please don't forget to send us letters updating us on your schooling." Dane's mother Henora pleaded.
"I won't, mum." he looked to his father Irik who had been trying to come to terms with his son being a wizard.
Dane blinked as his parents led him to the train station. The professor that had guided him and his parents to the station and to the wall that led to Platform 9 3/4 had been very helpful in the midst of oddity that was what he had experienced thus far. He was now staring at the wall between platforms 9 & 10, wondering if it really was as simple as walking through it and seeing the Hogwart's Express on the other side. Dane turned to hug his parents, with his dad Irik expressing his pride in his son despite the absurdity of a wizard child. Both of his parents wished him luck as Dane went back to his cart, preparing himself. The kids in his primary school would have laughed at him and probably made fun of him if they could see him now.
Growing tired of living in fear, Dane gripped his cart, his knuckles turning white, and began to walk to the wall. Surely he wouldn't actually go through and he'd just slam into the brick, right? He braced himself with his breath hitching in his throat. Only instead of slamming into the wall, Dane had made it onto the other side of it and onto a platform labeled 9 3/4. 'Oh.' he thought. Standing adjacent was the train patiently waiting on him, steam blowing from the engine. He watched as several other students began to climb the train, knowing he should follow suit.
'This is it, Dane. A fresh new start.'
