Argument in the library Damion White

Damion had found himself on the library. He just wanted to read and get some reading done. Damion liked being in the library. He sort of found it very comforting. He was very happy that he could get some reading done while being there. He always thought that it was a good place to get knowledge about the wizarding subjects. But that was not all that he hoped that there was. He also loved that he could read other books there.

He had been reading not only things that related to the subject that he was studying in school but also other books that he had an interest in. He couldn't stop loving the book he was reading. A few more pages and he was done reading it. Once he finished reading the book, he walked to the section of the library where he had picked it out from and put it in the right place.

No sooner had he picked the next book that he was going read or issue he saw a younger girl, whom he had seen in the Halloween Party come there and ask him to borrow the book before him. He thought about and shook his head. "If you wanted to borrow this book, you should have come here sooner. You snooze you loose." He said. He was not even going to be sweet or nice to the younger girl. He was being blunt and harsh.

"If you have been waiting for it for so long, what's another two weeks?" Damion said bluntly. He was not caring that the person he was talking to was really younger than him.

Anna was taken aback with the boys' rude and blunt response. Just then she realized that she had seen him at her party, a while ago, and he certainly didn’t seem rude then. She opened her mouth to retort, but no words left her, she was utterly confused, no one ever rejected her so harshly and she was starting to get angry. Taking a deep breath she collected herself, straightened her back, and sent a cold harsh stare towards the boy.

“Well you are quite rude aren’t you? You got to this book first only because it was closer to you, if it were on the opposite end of the shelf I would’ve picked it up before you. And it hardly seems fair that you claim this book for two weeks, if it was that important to you, you’d read it much faster”. Anna kept her voice even, but underneath her calm she was agitated at this boy, firstly for taking her book and secondly for ruining her good mood. But she knew how to stand up for herself, and it didn’t matter to her that he was older or stronger. Right now, he was a rude boy who got into her way, and she was not going to back down.

Damion didn’t like how this girl was acting. She was acting like a spoilt brat. He had never expected her to be that way. She seemed different in the party or maybe she was acting to be nice at the Halloween party. Who knew? He was not going to let someone roll over him this way. He was just standing up for what he believed in. He was not going to let the fact that this girl was younger to him, let him be sweet on her. He could see that her stare was a little weird and it didn’t make him feel any different to be honest.

"I am not rude miss!" He said looking at her. "You act like a spoiled girl who seems to get everything she wants. So princess, you will have to wait for the two weeks for me to finish reading this book before you can get it." He said looking at her and frowning. "Well I can’t control how fast I get to place and you were still trotting to get to it." He said. He was just stating the facts here. He was in no mood to argue with the girl but if he had to he would argue with her. "Either way, if I do read it early, which I am not saying I would, you will still have to wait for it." He said bluntly not caring that the younger girl would be hurt by what he was saying.

She couldn’t believe her ears. A spoilt girl?! A princess!? Anna has never heard such words directed at her. She tried to keep her calm, she really did. But she couldn’t decide if she would rather cry or hex the boy. She swallowed the lump forming in her throat, but the boy kept talking. He seemed not to have a care in the world if he hurt someone with his words. Blinking harshly Anna batted her tears away. She didn’t want to cry in front of him.

Words caught in her throat but she forced them out through gritted teeth. “Not rude? You spill insults like common words and mock me. Putting yourself on a pedestal, and arguing just to prove your point”. She hated this feeling of helplessness, she could feel her cheeks heat up as well. She was searching for a solution while trying to keep her tears at bay. “How about this? I take the book first, I’ll read it in three days the longest. In short you’ll have it by tomorrow or after tomorrow. That seems like a good arrangement for both of us doesn’t it?” Compromise. She couldn’t believe she stood at such a low point she had to compromise. Her father said it was a virtue of wise men to compromise but she hated the way it made her feel. Nonetheless she raised her chin and held Damion’s stare. She would not cry in front of him.
