Halloween had never been much celebrated in the Bishop household, therefore the Bishop heiress couldn't really understand all the commotion happening up and around Hogwarts. Wherever the young Gryffindor girl looked, the spirit of the spooky, sinister, and ghostly holiday could be seen. Bats - real or fake, no one could tell - decorated the lofty ceilings of the castle; students had to duck underneath thick cobwebs that had been strung across hallways, stuck to the walls by magic. The corridors, after classes, were lit up only by the jack o'lanterns that sent out a strange orange flicker through their eyes and had sinister, unearthly grins. The fire burning inside could never be put out, fueled by magic. Around almost every corner, older students dressed up in dark, hooded clothes, carrying scythes and other weapons, jumped out at the younger children and scared the brains out of them.
It had taken a while for Rhea to get used to the ghoulish decorations, but when she'd figured out all the places where the disguised older students waited, she knew to avoid them. Actually, she herself partook in the festivities - sometimes, she would dress up as a witch and utter a blood-curling scream, drawing ikle first years to her and, of course, scaring the brains of them. Slowly, the spirit of the holiday encompassed her as well. It was a fun time for everyone involved, for subconsciously, the human mind liked to be scared - the adrenaline that pumped through one's veins gave everyone a sort of thrill.
As prefect, perhaps she should not have been participating in scaring the younger children; she was supposed to be a role model, someone to look up to. However, no one and nothing could convince her to pause her after-school activities - it was simply too fun. But she still had to do her prefect duties, and although most of the things she did was not too exciting (patrolling the halls, for instance, were not quite fun, unless you caught someone and sent them to detention), partaking in an event for Oktoberfest would be fun, no doubt.
Oktoberfest was a month long event, something that psyched everyone up for Halloween. Everyone's hard work during the day would pay off, and students would get a chance to relax and have some fun during the weekends, or whenever the events would be held. The event that Rhea had been asked to take part in was called Trick or Treat, and it would include conversing with the ghosts, riddles, and a whole lot of fun.
Rhea, for her part, was more excited than one should be. She had never been asked to participate in an event, and to be able to lead her own group for this one now - it made her want to jump with happiness! In an attempt to make sure everything was absolutely perfect, Rhea had spent the last week or two planning what her group would do - the riddles, the locations, and hopefully some ghosts. With some help from her older cousins, Astrid and Ariadne, Rhea completed the basis for the event. The riddles were complete, the locations were chosen, and some of the ghosts were spoken to, in hopes of making them want to cooperate for this event.
With her shoulder bag packed full of everything she would need for the event (a stack of parchment for planning, the riddles, and other secret materials), Rhea began to make her way down to the Great Hall, where she would be meeting the rest of her group.
ReducioOOC notes:
I will wait a bit before I post again, just to give you a chance to introduce yourselves. After a few posts of doing so, Rhea will hand you a riddle, where the answer is a location somewhere in the castle.
Amongst yourselves (either in owls, discord, in this thread, or whichever other mode of communication you prefer) you must figure out the answer. Once you figure out, only one of you must post in this thread your guess (decide amongst yourselves). I won't tell you whether it's wrong or right, rather I'll just make a thread in the location you guessed and you'll see then. >: )
Keep in mind that this adventure happens over the course of one day (in rp); however, ooc-ly it may take close to a week. If someone doesn't post within a week (by October 22nd), it will be assumed that person didn't show up and the adventure may continue on without them so that no one is holding their peers up.
That's all you're getting for now! Good luck![]()

the trouble is, if you don't risk anything -- you risk more.

Trick or Treat!
Emma admired Halloween. With a passion. It was practically the month of pranking itself, and she wasn't missing an opportunity to scare the younger children of her neighborhood. And yes, by children she meant the seven-year-olds, she didn't want to scar any unsuspecting four-year-olds. She wouldn't have called it her favorite, but by all means, she was excited. The wide variety of clown to princess costumes just seemed to excite her. Plus, it was the one time she could lurk in the shadows without being disowned from her mother.
The vibe from the orange jack-o-lanterns seemed to lift her up inside. Well, all vivacious colors seemed to increase her demeanor. It reminded her of the lights she attached to the walls outside of her home before she had been admitted into Hogwarts. Still, she missed her home, but it was a small price to pay to get her preferred job.
It wasn't like anyone was looking up to her, besides her father who had also attended Hogwarts, but even he had pulled a few stunts in his years at Hogwarts. Surely he didn't care about Emma scaring the breath out of first years, in fact, he would have been proud to know that she wasn't letting her grades get to her head. More like, taking a break from her work. She couldn't say the same thing about her mother, she would have killed her to know the things she did at the magical, yet dangerous wizarding school. She had finished everything anyways, it wasn't like she had anything to do besides study.
Oktoberfest was just an accuse to act up more. Without getting into trouble, that is.
The Ravenclaw had no idea what to bring. For starters, she brought a quill, some parchment, two textbooks, and of course, her wand. Also bringing along a small notebook to jot down notes, if she needed to, but her for her sake she hoped not to be using either textbooks or her notebook. Although she was looking forward to using her wand.
Hopefully, we'll see a ghost. She thought to herself, as she entered the Great Hall. Thankfully, it wasn't to listen to the other tables talk or to even eat breakfast. She didn't have a clue what it was for, actually, just a mere event for Oktoberfest. Oktober... What a strange variation of spelling. The spelling was surely not English.
No one had shown up yet, that was a good sign. The only person she had to introduce herself to was the prefect in charge of running her group. "Hello, I'm Emma." She said, a small smile perched on her face, waving to the Gryffindor prefect.

Trick or Treat!
Halloween was undoubtedly the best time of the year. You could scare people and they would just laugh it off and say that you’re getting into the “holiday spirit.” Plus, you got candy. What could possibly be better than that?
Oktoberfest was a great idea, whoever had thought that up. Amanda was almost positive that the festival was originally a German thing, but she wouldn’t have bet on it. It was a time where you celebrate. Halloween and the arrival of autumn. There was sweet treats and fun events, not to mention butterbeer. Butterbeer was Amanda’s absolute favorite.
When Amanda had learned that there was going to be trick-or-treating at Hogwarts, she had practically shrieked with excitement. And now there she was, in the Great Hall, satchel at her side. She had only brought her wand and a sweater, and hoped that they wouldn’t need anything else. She entered the Great Hall, quietly humming a tune from The Nightmare Before Christmas to herself.
Amanda spotted her group and jogged over to them. So far only Rhea and Emma were there besides herself. She waved and grinned. “Hey guys. Thanks for heading up our group, Rhea. I can’t wait to start!”

Trick or Treat!
Laila was really excited about Halloween. She could not wait to go trick or treating. Laila loved candy. It was one of her favourite things in the world.
Laila thought that the Oktoberfest was a great opportunity to get to meet some new people, and share some of your candy with them. Laila did not know that they celebrated Halloween at Hogwarts. She thought it was more of a muggle thing, and wizards and witches just are not interested in that kind of stuff.
Laila wore her favourite white and pink dress, with her white ballerinas. Laila put on her jacket, took her elastic band, and took a bag to store the candy she got, and rushed towards the exit of the common room. She looked left and right to make sure she would not bump into any students before moving along, and walked down to the great hall
As Laila got closer to the great hall, she was no longer walking she was skipping down to the great hall. When she got to the great hall, she hopped over to her group. "Hello everyone!" Laila said. "I'm Lailaflora but you can call me Laila" Laila told them. "Are you guys excited to go trick or treating?" Laila asked them.

Trick or Treat!
Back at home, Jimin would go around the villages with his father and maybe some friends, dressed as Anpanman or whatever, and do some Trick Or Treating. After getting a lot of candy, Jimin and whoever he had gone with would look through the treats and eat, or save them for later; before watching Halloween movies and playing games. Since Jimin wouldn't be spending a lot of time with his father for the next few years, he wanted to do something that he would do with him.
Jimin gathered with his TOT group in the Great Hall, smiling softly. He waved at the others, listening to them all introduce themselves one after one. Finally, the introductions fell on him. "U-Um... annyeong. Sorry- hello. My name is Jimin," he said shyly.
"I hope I will be help because English isn't my first language," he mumbled, still looking at the others: Lailaflora, Amanda and Emma.
He had been told there was someone else left; and also realised that he was the only boy, which he hoped wouldn't make anything awkward. People had told him girls this age could be overly judgemental at times - but that couldn't be true, could it. Jimin just hoped for the best.

Trick or Treat!
Soon enough, more and more people began to show up to the Great Hall. Eventually, her entire group had arrived and was clustered around - or at least, everyone that was able to show up, as earlier that day Rhea had gotten an owl from Bella Hills that said she would not be able to attend this event. Why, Bella hadn't specified, but Rhea knew that the show must go on no matter what. However, she still hoped Bella would be able to join them later on!
But no matter. The first girl to arrive was a brunette girl who introduced herself as Emma, to which Rhea waved and said, "Hi! I'm Rhea, and I'm heading this... which you could probably guess." She grinned and rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. The next girl to arrive was another brunette, but this one was familiar. It was Amanda! The two knew each other from the year before, and had solidified some sort of friendship over the summer.
"Hey, Amanda! It's no problem at all, I'm so excited for this too!" Rhea smiled mischievously, remembering the things she had planned for them. Ghosts, tricks, and whatever else would come across their way that Rhea hadn't particularly planned for - everything thrown together would be an amazing mix of what Halloween represented.
Two more people had yet to arrive, apart from Bella. The next was what Rhea remembered to be the last girl, for there was only one boy in their group. This one was blonde; an unfamiliar girl that Rhea had not seen around before. Perhaps a first year? Rhea thought she knew maybe everyone in the second year, give or take a few kids, so yes, she assumed that the blonde girl was a first year. She introduced herself as Laila, and again, Rhea smiled and waved. "Hey, Laila! It's nice to meet you - and I hope you're ready for the stuff we're about to do when the last person gets here - oh, there he is!"
Rhea seemed to have spoken too soon, for a boy appeared by their group, introducing himself as Jimin. "Hi Jimin. Don't worry about it, I'm sure you'll be fine." With that, she beamed and took out the first slip of paper, presenting it to the group.
On this piece of parchment, the four other kids would be able to see a riddle, written in Rhea's big, semi-cursive font:
Reducio
Rhea read the riddle out loud first, before handing the parchment to Amanda. "This is your first riddle! You have ten minutes to discuss it and come up with an answer - when you're done, pick someone amongst you to come up and tell me! I won't tell you if you're right or wrong, so if you're wrong... better hope the ghosts are in a good mood."
Grinning, Rhea took a seat at one of the tables in the Great Hall and waited for them to figure out the riddle. Oh, this would be fun, she thought, taking a bite out of an apple.
ReducioAnd the adventure begins! So, as you could guess, Bella will not be able to participate in this adventure ): but maybe she'll be able to join in later! Anyway...
You will have one week exactly to post (Oct 29), but try to make it less so we can get the adventure moving? Discuss amongst yourself the answer to this riddle, and when you think you have figured it out, pick someone to write out a reply with your answer! Good luck! <3

Trick or Treat!
Waving to both Lailafora and Jimin, she felt it useless to introduce herself again. Amanda already knew her extremely well, and she did too. Her name would be mentioned somewhere throughout the event, at least, she had a feeling about it. The prefect's name was Rhea, of course, the name was familiar. She knew all the names of every second year, she couldn't list them, but it wasn't hard to tell if the student had been in Hogwarts a year ago.
Whatever the ghosts had planned, it didn't trouble Emma. She had seen all the ghosts, well, the four ghosts that were assigned to an individual house. What was so scary about watching a ghost pull their head off? She had seen it before during supper and she was quite used to it, still, she pushed the thought to the back of her head, saving it for later.
Emma inched over to Amanda to take a peek at the note, her head resting on her shoulder as she read the note sideways with ease. It was pretty much like watching television as she lied down on her mother's sofa. Her handwriting was amazing, though she still found it hard to read in a few places. It was like those advanced cursive letters, she could read cursive... just not different variations of cursive. She read the clue silently inside of her head than out loud for the other two to hear.
The library- No, she was supposed to be speaking out loud. "The library? Or the study room, or History of Magic," she said indecisively, unable to make up her mind. Decided to go with her gut, she spoke once more. "Nevermind, just the library." She said shrugged, everything was a trick question to her, and riddles weren't any better.
"What do you guys think?" She asked, though she partly knew the answer. The word 'book' jumped out at everyone, she didn't care if they showed it or not.

Trick or Treat!
Amanda smiled and waved to the two first years that were in their group. “Hi, I’m Amanda. And yes, I’m very excited!” She was very pleased with who was in their group. They all appeared to be kind and fun.
Amanda took the parchment from Rhea and read it out loud. The cursive was intricate, making it slightly difficult to read. “A pile of words, jackets of hordes, take a quick look, in the place of the book.” She scratched her head. “I agree with Emma. I think it’s the library. It kind of seems a little too obvious, but it’s definitely our best bet. I can be our spokesperson, if you guys would like.”
Amanda wondered what Rhea could mean by hoping that the ghosts were in a good mood. She still wasn’t very sure how this version of trick or treating would work out. She was used to the more conventional method, which was walking around a neighborhood and knocking on people’s doors. The more Amanda thought about it, though, the more ridiculous the idea of trick or treating seemed. I mean, you’re basically going up to strangers’ houses and asking them for candy. I wonder who on earth came up with that.
