The rehearsal room wasn’t meant for puzzles, Nora acknowledged, but she had no where else to go. It was pouring here outside, and there wasn’t a quiet spot to find anywhere in the whole castle. That is, besides this room.

Usually filled with students practicing for band, or a musical, it now sat in utter silence as Nora shyly entered. A puzzle box was tucked under her arm, full of colourful jigsaws. She’d received it weeks ago from her dad, but she’d decided to save it for a rainy day. And, oh, was today rainy. The lake was in torment, thrashing up and about, and you could barely see through the streams of water pressing up against the windows.

And from the rehearsal room, with its large, arching windows, you could hear everywhere crash of thunder, every beat of water. However, Nora didn’t mind. She loved the sound of the rain, especially big storms, and she found that just a few minutes of it’s rhythm could calm her down incomparably. Some people were scared by large storms, but not Nora. She revelled in them.

Walking over to the window, she chose a spot in the light of it to begin her work. She sat cross-legged for a few minutes, unpacking and organizing her puzzle pieces. That was how she liked to do it— methodically. She despised people who just left all the pieces in a mess, picking random ones out and trying to find a spot for it. No, Nora had a routine. It worked by her slowly going through all the edge pieces, and trying to connect the next one with all the ones previously found. Then, when she’d finished the edge, she worked section by section until she had just filler pieces. With those, she categorized them by type and shape. And then… she just started guessing.

Maybe it wasn’t the best plan, but it was the one that always worked for her, and she wasn’t about to switch up her ways. After Nora had things organized, she began her process. It was tricky, and after a bit, she found herself finding a strange peace in the large, empty room.

It was Linda's favorite weather outside the castle, and usually she liked to walk around the castle in such weather. But her favorite place was rehearsal room. She liked to sit there and spend some time either playing guitar or piano, or drawing, or just sitting doing nothing.

She was making some notes in her notebook, describing the day and writing down the best moments. Then she decided to make a sketch of the weather, so she took another notebook and started to draw sitting in her dorm. Once she finished, she thought it was time to go to the rehearsal room.

This time Linda didn't want to play musical instruments or draw, so she didn't take anything with her. She looked at the window once more and went out of the dorm, making sure she put everything on its place.

She was passing by windows sometimes as it was quite attractive to keep looking outside. Finally she got to the fourth floor.

Coming closer to the rehearsal room she couldn't even imagine there already will be someone as every time it was free, so she opened the door confidently and came in.

Although this time there was someone already. A girl sitting near the window under the light. She had puzzles in front of her. Puzzles. Linda loved them, she always was choosing ones that had a lot of pieces in them and was starting with searching for edges. Maybe this girl wouldn't mind me joining?

"Hi, I'm sorry I thought there's no one here. I'm Linda Ramirez. Are you going to connect them all? Can I join please?" She hoped she didn't scare the girl and her questions didn't sound too bothering. She just really wished to have puzzles so she couldn't find anything else to say.

The door of the rehearsal room opened wide, and Nora winced. Hopefully nobody needed to practice in here. Then, she would have to re-locate, and the quiet places in this school were already sparse enough. The great hall was full of gossipers, the study room full of studiers, and the Slytherin common room full of both gossipers and studiers! Even the owlery was full of students, who were comforting the owls and waiting for the storm to pass, so they could send their letters. But it didn't look like it was going to, at least not anytime soon.

Eyes wide, Nora glanced towards the door. Her 'intruder', thankfully, wasn't a group of students, but instead another girl, most likely Nora's age. Her long hair was brown with lighter sections, and she was maybe around 4' 9" if she had to guess. Nora hadn't seen her much around the castle, but there were a lot of students, so it was likely she'd seen her before somewhere. Maybe in potions? After a second, the girl spoke.

"Hi, I'm sorry I thought there's no one here," she said, "I'm Linda Ramirez." Nora smiled at that name; it had a nice ring to it. "Are you going to connect them all? Can I join please?" Nora was hesitant to be joined, but she figured it would be nice to have some company, after all. Perhaps they would even become friends...

"Yeah, of course you can join, Linda, " Nora responded, clearing a bit of room beside her. Then she added, "My name's Nora. Are you a first year too?"

Linda smiled when the girl said she could join. Nora. Nice name, maybe they could be friends. "Yeah, I am a first year too. I see you like to start from edges, aren't you? It's my favorite. If I ever have puzzles, I will always find all edges and connect them first."

Linda didn't know what to say else. She still hoped she didn't bother Nora, so she felt a bit nervous while speaking. But she came closer to her and sat beside Nora.

"Do you want us to connect everything together everywhere or divide parts so we don't bother each other?" It was the right question to ask as she didn't want to quarrel while connecting puzzles and she knew it will be annoying if both of them will accidentally want to take the same piece. Beside it was first meeting, so they didn't know anything about each other's way to connect puzzles.

"What is it going to be at the end? It looks so interesting." Not that it was really important, she will see it at the end anyway. Linda just tried to have small talk, maybe not the best idea during puzzles, but again she just wanted Nora to feel more comfortable with this sudden company. "Also you can ask me anything you want or if you prefer to talk later, we can talk later and just focus on puzzles."

Nora smiled in response to Linda's question. "You won't bother me. Just as long as you let me divide everything, I'm fine," she clarified.

"What is it going to be at the end? It looks so interesting." Linda asked, which made Nora furrow her brow. She hadn't asked her dad what the picture was, and now that she thought about it, it was kind of odd that he hadn't told her. Usually the puzzles were of famous paintings, as Nora's dad painted as a past time. "Uh, I'm not sure." She squinted, tilting her head. "Maybe the Starry Night?" The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh was made on an oil canvas, depicting a night time scene with stars. It had lots of blues, blacks and yellows, which kind of matched the theme of the pieces. Of course, she couldn't be sure without seeing the completed puzzle. Sometimes, her father liked to mess her up, and do something random that wasn't a painting, and instead just some random picture

"Also you can ask me anything you want or if you prefer to talk later, we can talk later and just focus on puzzles," said Linda, to which Nora smiled in response, but didn't say anything so the room grew quiet. After a few minutes, she spoke up.

"Do you like making puzzles?" That was a bit weak, but she didn't have anything better to say in the moment. Trying again, she said, "Or do you have any other hobbies?

"Awesome." Linda smiled while letting Nora divide everything.

"Srarry night. Sounds awesome. But I guess it's even more nice if you are not sure what it is exactly. Making it more interesting to collect and see the result." Linda didn't mind not knowing what it's going to be. She liked the process itself and it was more fascinating when she didn't know the result in advance. If it was Starry night, it's gonna be great as she liked it a lot. If not, it still was quite fine for her.

"I adore making puzzles but it's not the only thing I really like doing. What about you?" Linda said with an enthusiastic smile. "I was doing it a lot back at home and was actually kinda missing it. Perhaps I should ask my parents to send me some." After a while she decided to wait Nora to speak about her hobbies first. Surely if she would want to share.

Linda had a lot of hobbies and was always opened for more, still continuing previous. So it would surely take some time talking about all of them. But sometimes she was answering choosing some she thought were main at the moment.

Linda started to think how nice would be to do something together with Nora after this meeting. Perhaps they could be good friends. But time would show it surely.
