Day 2
Match 2 [ Morning Slot ]
@Pea Elena Fowl & @Avery Leveret
Hanako was not someone that needed anything spectacular and never-been-seen-before to be impressed. Boredom - through a frequent friend - had an easy cure. Watching junior league duels was supposed to be one of the cures. But godness gracious. This was an incredibly boring duel. Which was something he hadn’t expected knowing Fowl was in it. Even her usual yapping and constant belittling didn’t even save it. At least it was a quick win for Slytherin, he supposed.
Now that boredom had begun slowly creeping in his gut again, he looked around to find another cure for it. Perhaps a cute boy that appeared as bored as he is. Or a pretty girl who hasn’t had the pleasure of being charmed by him. Or maybe…
"Show them what a Leveret can do!"
… a noisy kid. Well, at least she was something. She was a familiar face among the Severus Snape dorm, but she hadn’t done anything enough of interest to make him curious about her. Naturally, they seemed to both have managed not to interact with one another for almost a year. Perhaps that could change today.
With ease, he began to find his way towards the blonde girl. Her obvious enthusiasm for the duel didn’t match his. “ Ah, Leveret. That’s his name wasn't it? I've been wondering. The moderator mentioned it once and it just slipped my mind “ he said casually, simply inserting himself in a conversation with her without saying something like ‘ hello ‘. Simple greetings were never really his thing. Much less polite ones. The blonde girl was yet someone who deserved such things from the older boy. “ July wasn’t it? I remember you from my dorm. We never really introduced each other before. Hana. “ he gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, but extended a hand for her to shake. If she didn’t take it, he would remain unbothered and pull his hand back.
“ I heard your…enthusiasm from all the way over there. You know that kid well? Leveret, I mean. “ his eyes darted towards the slytherin duelists pair that still remained in the duel. Alive and barely scratched. “ A good friend to you? “

Valarie couldn’t help but frown as Ava stared at her. Didn’t she remember her. Valarie was suddenly the one staring when the Slytherin jumped up and ran. Valarie was taken aback. She quickly followed after Ava to make sure everything was okay. Just as she was nearing Ava, her friend ran right into an older boy. Valarie didn’t recognize him, but had a strong suspicion that the two knew each other based on the boy’s yelling. Valarie was frozen as the boy yelled at Ava. What had Ava done to him? The boy said something about Ava attending the duel before Valarie cut in before the two running into each other got worse.
“Um, excuse me, sorry, but is everything alright? Why are you yelling at Ava?” asked the nervous Ravenclaw. Valarie wasn’t one for confrontation, but she couldn’t just stand by and let the boy yell. Valarie’s reached up and messed with her hair, her nervous habit. Valarie forced her hands back down to her sides and stood quietly as she waited for one of the two to answer her question. Why didn’t they like each other? It was an honest mistake that Ava ran into him and Valarie was certain of that. Valarie added one more quick comment about the two, quite literally, running into each other.
“If you’re upset about Ava running into you,” Valarie began, directing her comment to the older boy, “It isn’t entirely her fault. She was just looking over her shoulder to see if I was following her. It an honest mistake.” Valarie messed with her hair again. Hopefully the two would not get mad at her for trying to stop the argument.

Day 2
"LITTLE GIRL!!" The one person she had to run into -- THE ONE PERSON -- and it had to be Damion. “What’d I say about calling me a little girl, old man?” She challenged him, forgetting the girl she had earlier run into. Her glare was 3/4 angry and 1/4 challenging. “I swear, call me that again.” She balled her hands into fists and made sure they were visible. She wouldn’t hesitate to punch him. Heck, she would even enjoy it. Although she would be in massive trouble if she did… But it would be worth it in the moment.
Ava practically jumped a foot at Valarie’s voice. “Um, excuse me, sorry, but is everything alright? Why are you yelling at Ava?” Ava turned her fiery glare onto they girl next to her. She could fight her own fights, and she intended to do so. She didn’t need someone to fight her own fights, and much less someone who hadn’t spoken to her in months.
"Can't you see where you are going?" Ava glared at him yet again. “I can see where I’m going, can you?” She reflected the question back at him. "Well you have always been that blind. So it's not surprising to be honest." She rolled her eyes. “For the last time. It. Was. Not. My. Fault. You ran into me.” She had no idea how many times she had said that, but if she had to say it again she would be “accidentally” shoving him into the lake.
Yet again, Valarie attempted to fight they fight for her. “If you’re upset about Ava running into you, it isn’t entirely her fault. She was just looking over her shoulder to see if I was following her. It an honest mistake.” Ava once again directed her glare to Valarie. “SHUT UP, VALARIE! I DON’T NEED YOU TO FIGHT MY FIGHTS!” She had raised her voice, but hopefully not loud enough that it would interrupt the duelists. Hopefully.
"I am surprised to see you here." Ava rolled her eyes. “I could say the same to you--oh wait. You’re here cheering on your ‘babycakes’, no?” Mischeif danced in her eyes as she awaited Damion’s response. She knew she had him cornered.

Day 2
Date: 23rd April 2023
Morning Slot: 10:30 - 11:30
Match 6: Julian Pritchard & Hades Schweighöfer vs Starlee Kennedy & Fang Hui-Ming
Damion was quietly watching a match between his boyfriend's house with his boyfriend on one side and while the Snakes had two opponents. Ugh! This was not going to end well for Hades. But he was still being hopeful for his Hades to win the match. When Ava bumped into him. ugh! Why was little girl doing here? He looked at a fellow younger Ravenclaw follow not very long after he had screamed at Ava.
"I am not yelling at you so back off." Damion threatened the younger Ravenclaw. "I don't care whose fault it is. Just stop bumping into people" Damion said coldly turning to Valerie. "Trust me nothing is an honest mistake when Ava is involved." He said.
He turned to Ava and shook his head. "Really? Again with the old man thing, little girl!!" Damion said. Not that it bothered him but he was sorta getting the feeling that Ava didn't like him calling her little girl. "Oh what would you do if I called you little girl again?" He said looking at her. He was sorta challenging her.
Ugh! As he heard what more she was saying. "Oh come on, little girl, I can definitely see where I am going." He said. He had not moved from his place and Ava had run into him. "Would you ever stop deflecting your mistakes on someone else, Little girl?" He said. He looked at her and smirked. "I was just standing here watching the match between my boy- er I mean my friend." He said. He rolled his eyes as he heard what she screamed to Valerie. He couldn't stop smirking. His smirk turned into a frown when he heard her quote his "babycakes" back to him. Ugh! He didn't want her to know that at all. "You are not allowed to call him that." He said getting upset. He didn't want her to know about who his babycakes was. "So, I better not hear you call him that ever again." He said. He was not wanting her to know who his babycakes was.
Damion watched as the match progressed. He saw Hades' spell miss the target. Damn! He was not happy that his boyfriend was missing the target. He didn't want him to lose at all. "You can do it." He said encouraging Hades. He was not going to say the name or call him Babycakes right now. He looked at Ming who had cast a spell on his Hades had missed hitting Hades. Good. However, Starlee was healing Ming. That was not good.

Round 7 was upon them and Hades was fighting by himself now against two opponents, which was difficult. Kim was distracted by the 'fight' that was going on nearby, regarding Shiro and Ava. He also happened to catch sight of Hana, who was interacting with June. But the purple haired teen decided to try and stay apart from all the drama going on right now. Kim was here to support Hades and Galton. And that was what he was going to do. He continued to watch the two matches and was quite taken by Galton's. That match was quite unique! Kim saw some spells being cast that weren't very common in duels he'd seen so far until now... Maybe it was because they were higher years. But it was very exciting to watch! The purple haired teen took a break from sketching to just watching the match. During off times, he would quickly sketch again. At the end of the matches, Hades ended up being on the losing side again. But at least this time he didn't end up getting knocked out! That was an improvement, although Kim was sure Hades didn't see it as such. Eventually, Kim was sure he'd end up winning a match though, as long as he had the willpower to never give up and get better with his spells, victory was always within reach. As for Galton's match, he ended up winning which made Kim smile. Kim had a soft spot for Galton and always had, ever since his first official duel being his partner. He didn't like to see him lose, although knew it was something that would happen. From time to time. After all, no one was perfect. But the morning matches were now over. Kim was happy about how Gia's match was coming along, because she was winning it. Well, the Lions seemed to be destroying the snakes. It was something to applaud because Slytherin had taken the House Cup twice in a row this year. So it was good Gryffindor was winning against Slytherin at something now! Kim was sure they would be able to reclaim House Cup victory again. It was only a matter of time. But until then, they'd just have to sweep the dueling charts from them until that time! Monica was almost out, he could tell. It was a shame because she was a nice girl but this was a duel against her House. Gryffindor had to win! Monica's partner was someone he'd met during the Valentine's Party and gotten paired up with. But Kim didn't really know her that well, only that she was a friend of Sophia's. She didn't look like she was doing too well either. On the other hand, the Lions were doing really well. Gia looked beautiful, as if she was meant to stand on the piste, untouched by spells. Her partner, Asher Blackjack wasn't doing bad as a first year either! For Kim, he thought it was only a matter of time before Gryffindor and Gia won the match. It was highly unlikely that the two could come back and win against the Lions within 6 rounds. After all, both of their opponents were at full health and they were at almost no health right now. But who knew? Miracles had happened before. Maybe one would happen for the snakes. At the end of the match, Gia ended up on the winning end, which was something Kim wasn't really surprised about. He knew she was a fiery person and had lots of potential within her to go places. She and her partner had ended up destroying their Slytherin opponents, one of which happened to be Monica. An unfortunate circumstance as Kim was friends with her too. With the afternoon matches over, Kim got up and made his way over to the dueling piste to meet up with Gia and ensure she was fine. Maybe give her a chocolate frog. |

Valarie felt like she had been punched in the gut the second Ava yelled at her. Valarie didn’t dare say anything for fear she would be yelled at again. Damion snapped at her and Valarie felt herself taking a step back. The two went back and forth with each other but Valarie’s mind could only focus on one thing: I don’t need you to fight my fights. Valarie could hardly wrap her mind around the fact of how easily Ava pushed her away. What did this mean for their friendship, if you could even call it that now. Valarie hesitated to put herself back in the conversation but did so anyway.
“I’m not trying to fight your battles, Ava. I am just trying to help you. That is, after all, what friends are for.” She turned over to Damion. She had to set one thing straight before leaving the two alone.
“You can’t blame Ava for everything. This time it was for sure just a mistake. I do not know your history with her, but whatever she has done before had nothing to do with her accidentally bumping into you.” Valarie did not care if Ava yelled at her again. She was ready to leave at the first sign of a fight brewing into more of just words. Standing with her arms crossed tightly across her chest, she gave the two a fiery look. Valarie was not sure why she felt such a desire to help Ava. Maybe it was because of all the rumors flying around about her. Maybe it was because of the fact Valarie had not seen Ava since the start of the year. Maybe it was just because Valarie did not like the way this older spoke. Whatever the reason, Valarie could tell she wouldn’t be leaving until this was resolved.

Day 2
“I’m not trying to fight your battles, Ava. I am just trying to help you. That is, after all, what friends are for.” Ava fixed her gaze on Valarie. "That’s what we are? Friends?" She whispered quietly, so quietly it might have been lost over the commotion around them. "You didn’t try and reach me once. It’s been months." She continued. "Friends help each other, yeah. But they also don’t ignore each other," like you did to me. She finished silently. She couldn’t act like it was fine for this to happen. She couldn’t pretend like they were friends. So many people had abandoned her, and it was hard for her to trust again.
"I am not yelling at you so back off." Damion said, and Ava glared at him. "Don’t tell her what to do!" She said, and was feeling quite conflicted. While she wasn’t happy with Valarie for showing up, she was even more unhappy with Damion for being his usual, annoying self. While she didn’t want to help Valarie, she needed to, so that she was opposing Damion.
"I don't care whose fault it is. Just stop bumping into people" She groaned. "Not this again. For the last time, it wasn’t my fault!" It really wasn’t her fault, for once. She had been resting against a wall because she had been carrying so many heavy books. Not only had she been doing nothing, she was also staying out of the way so no one would bump into her. Suddenly, Damion had come out of no where and had knocked all her stuff out of her hands! He then stole her quill! And said he didn’t! That’s where the rivalry had started.
"Trust me nothing is an honest mistake when Ava is involved." Damion told Valarie. Before Ava could response, Valarie had spoken up. “You can’t blame Ava for everything. This time it was for sure just a mistake. I do not know your history with her, but whatever she has done before had nothing to do with her accidentally bumping into you.” Ava couldn’t decide who she should yell at. She wanted to yell at Damion, but she also wanted to tell Valarie to stop speaking for her. She could speak for herself. But in the moment, she was silent.
"Really? Again with the old man thing, little girl!! Oh what would you do if I called you little girl again?" Ava glared fiercely, a wave of red rippling through her hair, and stopping at her tips. "Don’t call me a little girl, and I won’t call you an old man." She didn’t expect it to work, but it was always worth a shot.
"Oh come on, little girl, I can definitely see where I am going." He said. "Why did you bump into me in the halls, then?" She countered. "Would you ever stop deflecting your mistakes on someone else, Little girl?" Ava rolled her eyes. "I could ask you the same question. Seems you need to listen to your own advice, old man." She deflected the question back to him instead of answering. "I was just standing here watching the match between my boy- er I mean my friend." He smirked at her. She rolled her eyes. "I don’t care who you date, or who you watch." He was being absolutely ridiculous.
"You are not allowed to call him that." Damion said angrily, and she knew she had hit a nerve. "And why not?" She said rather evilly. She didn’t do this to anyone else, just Damion. "So, I better not hear you call him that ever again." Damion threatened. "Or what?" She grinned.

Day 2
Date: 23rd April 2023
Morning Slot: 10:30 - 11:30
Match 6: Julian Pritchard & Hades Schweighöfer vs Starlee Kennedy & Fang Hui-Ming
Damion couldn’t help but snicker at the conversation that Valerie and Ava were having. "Trouble paradise. Typical, little girl." Damion said as he found it very amusing to see Ava yet again getting into a fight with someone. That was so typical of her. Or maybe that’s how Damion thought of her- someone who gets into fights over small things and aggravates small arguments into big battles or sorts. "Oh and why not, Little Girl?" He said looking at her. "You don’t control me or what I do okay? That might work with your friend here but it will surely not work with me." Damion said pointing at Valerie.
Damion groaned loudly as he rolled his eyes. He was not ready for this again. He was sorta tired of Ava putting the blame on someone else. He wished that sometime Ava would take the blame of doing something wrong. "Oh please. I was watching the match here and you come dashing into me so who is here to blame? Me or you?" He said looking at her as he wrapped his hands around his chest. He was really pissed off with Ava. He glanced at the match and groaned. It was over for Hades. It was just Hades versus the other two people. And no matter how much Damion wanted Hades to win he was sure that wouldn’t happen. It was sorta against Hades. It was not balanced anymore.
Damion rolled his eyes again as he heard what Valerie was saying. Ugh why did she have to protect Ava? Ava made a mistake this time. Maybe the last time it was his fault but this time he was just supporting his boyfriend and she bumped into him. He couldn’t stop feeling frustrated about it. And to be honest, he had every right to be angry about it. "So I silenced the little girl. What a victory!" He said looking at Ava and snickering.
"What’s the catch here?" Damion said raising his eyebrows at what Ava had said. He wanted to believe that she wouldn’t call him old man if he didn’t call her little girl. But he was really suspicious of what Ava said. He couldn’t trust her and well in the past she had shown how untrustworthy she was.
"Oh come on! It’s been months since that happened okay? Let that go. And I didn’t bump into you back then you bumped into me back then too." He said groaning at the thought. He was not ready for that argument to start all over again. "I listen to my advice a lot. So little girl, how about you say sorry for bumping into me here?" He said looking at her as he wrapped his hands around his chest as he waited impatiently for her to say something. "Good! You shouldn’t care about that because I am not going to tell you anything. Not going to give you anything to hold against me. I know how you can twist the truth and tell the tale in words that suit you or your narrative."
Ugh! Damion was so angry with her calling Hades babycakes. "Because that doesn’t need to come out of your mouth." He said. "Well if you say that again, it will be you and me with our wands out." He said looking at her with anger clearly showing on his face. Damn! It looked like Hades had lost the match and the Slytherin house had won. Damn it! Well this is how things were. He couldn’t do anything about it. He just hoped that Hades was going to be okay.

Day 2
Ava let Damion’s roll of her in her anger. No reason to give him more fuel than he already had. Her focus and anger was on Valarie, and only Valarie for the moment. She would do her worst, then she would move on. That was how she worked. Focus on one thing at a time, and do your best—or in this situation, your worst.
And when she was done with Valarie, she was focused on annoying at Damion however she could. She refused to give him leverage over her, not in the slightest. She needed to keep the upper hand, so she could use it when trouble struck. And strike it would, as it always did. She let him speak, so she could have her part. "I don’t ‘control’ any part of her. No more than you can control me." She narrowed her eyes at him, prepared to do her worst as she always did. Words could cut deeper than any blade, if used correctly. But she would save her blade for a moment of weakness.
She wanted to argue with Damion for his comments about her deflecting the blame, but Valarie did that for her, however poorly. Damion just rolled his eyes at her defense, and Ava was sorely tempted to do the same. That’s what happened, when you tried to defend someone that wasn’t actually your friend. She almost rolled her eyes, until Damion commented on her silence. "Shut up," she muttered angrily, but said no more. Just wait for his annoying snickering to be over.
"The catch?" She raised her eyebrows. "It’s an equal trade. Seems pretty great for you—and for me." She rolled her eyes when she realized what he was getting at. She knew if he had ever proposed the trade, she would’ve reacted the same. Didn’t make it any less annoying, though.
She rolled her eyes, tempted to point out that he was the one holding the grudge, not her. He always brought it up, not her. Why was it always her fault?
"And what is your own advice? 'Annoy Ava as much as possible.'?" She snickered at her own joke, wishing she had someone else on her side to laugh with. Realizing Valarie may as well still be there, she glanced around to look for her. But Valarie must’ve left, because she was nowhere to be seen.
Ava sighed, more exhausted by the argument than by than anything else. Really, Damion needed to get some new retorts. "The only one who twists words is you." She hissed, rolling her eyes at him to make up for the fact that she was showing her frustrations.
"Y’know, that really doesn’t sound that bad." She said in response the wand comment. "And I bet your babycakes will be there to cheer you on!" She said with false cheeriness. Although the conversation was exhausting her, she gathered the energy to shape her face and hair to look like the boy in the duel, who she was staring at. There were minor differences, but it was obvious who she looked like. She pitched her voice lower and said "go babycakes, you can beat the little girl, even though she’s kicking your butt!". She exhaled heavily, and her features returned to normal as she released her hold.
She saw Damion glance at the game, and she followed his gaze to the match. With a smirk, she saw that slytherin had won and his ‘babycakes’ had lost. "Go slytherin!” she called, if only to bait him into making a hasty move.
