CL A New Chapter

─────"Bye Mum, bye Dad," Seven said, their eyes a pool of sadness.

They had never been to a boarding school of any kind (magic or not) and it was scary. Not that they would let their parents know that. Otherwise, their mother would get all teary and their father would squish her in a huge hug. That couldn't happen. Especially not in front of Seven's future classmates.

"We'll miss you," their mother told her.

"I know, Mum," Seven replied.

They both embraced, knowing it would be the last time they saw each other for a while. Seven closed their eyes. When the hug ended, they turned to their father.

"You'll do great," he smiled. "I know you're not one to waste an opportunity like this."

He was right. Going to Hogwarts and learning magic was something that could - and certainly would - change Seven's life forever. Hopefully for the best. But, their mother had assured them that the professors were kind and the prefects would help if there were any problems or questions. So, there was nothing to worry about. Right?

Seven shook off their feelings of doubt and hugged their father, breathing in his woodsy scent - a mixture of cedar, redwood, and moss.

Lucinda continued to read and have her head buried in the book as she is immersed in the story. The book itself was quite fascinating to her since it was about muggles, elves and such getting into hilarious situations during their massive quest on defeating what sounded like the typical demon king. She couldn't help but giggle at every situation the characters were getting into but before she continue reading, she heard the compartment door being knocked. She looked up to see her older brother with hands full of sweets before he slides the door open. "What are you doing here? I thought you'd be sitting with your friends." She said to which Virgil answered "Is it bad that a brother wants to spend time with his own sister? I came to see if you want any sweets."

"Sugar Quils and Chocolate Frogs?" She asked as Virgil gave her those two of her favorite candy. "I'll always wonder why you like chocolate frogs so much. They're a little challenging to catch.""That's because you're too slow to catch them yourself and frankly, I like a challenge." She said as Virgil slowly shook his head while Lucinda releases the chocolate frog. It hopped around a lot while she tries to catch it and Virgil let his sister go on a chocolate frog chase while he goes back to his compartment.

─────Seven waved to their parents and walked over to the Hogwarts Express, which would soon be leaving the station. They glanced back once before climbing onto the train and entering chaos. Yes, that was the only word to describe it. Some teenagers were attempting to race their pygmy puffs, but the pets had no interest at all. There was gossip and squealing with delight as friends were reunited. Seven even heard someone singing - although it sounded more like lengthy screeches.

There were only a few compartments that seemed quiet. Perfect for reading the amazing book Seven's father had given her. It had been written and published by Muggles, but that didn't mean it wasn't good. On each page, a new beautiful description was introduced.

Anyways, all the peaceful compartments were full. Except for one. It already had a couple of people in it, but there was enough room for two more. Each compartment could fit four people, though Seven had seen many examples of five or six kids squished in. It seemed nice to be with friends, but there had been no space there.

They swallowed and slid open the door of the half-open compartment. "Um, excuse me? May I sit here? Everywhere else is full..."
