Nice To Meet You Pet Finished

With her satchel strapped to her back, Celia smiled brightly to herself as she skipped her way merrily towards one of the animal shops on Diagon Alley- Magical Menagerie. Finally, after managing to save up enough Galleons, she was able to buy herself a furry companion, or one with feathers, perhaps. Celia had never been fond of scaled animals, nor had she ever been a fan of smooth animals, especially toads and frogs. Their warty-ness always felt so... Well, icky, to say the least. Her mind was filled to the brim with possibilities as she pondered the situation. A cat, maybe? Or perhaps an owl... Oh, I have enough for a rabbit too!
She was so busy thinking about what pet she would be able to purchase that she nearly passed her destination. Pacing back a few steps, the first-year stepped into the Magical Menagerie. Celia was greeted in the shop with the smell of pet treats and dried grass filling her nostrils. She breathed the rustic scent in fondly.
"Ah, hello there! Welcome to the Magical Menagerie." a kindly voice said. Celia turned around to see a tall, elderly man with a smile spread on his age-wrinkled face. The man was wearing a pale blue flannel checkered shirt along with a pair of blue jeans and a brimmed hat. "O-oh! Hello. Thank you, sir." Celia stammered, smiling politely at the man's whiskery face.
"Please, call me Ernest! And you are?" Ernest said heartily. "Er, my name is Celia- nice to meet you, Ernest." Celia replied. "Well, Miss Celia, is there anything specific you're looking for? We have a wide selection of animal companion s here." Celia shook her head. She explained to Ernest that she was searching for something that just felt... Right.
"Alright then, call me if you need any help." Waltzing around the store, Celia admired the beauty of the animals for sale. After some time had passed, the young Slytherin was suddenly met with the blinding yellow glare of a sleek black cat that was staring into her deep brown eyes. The Hogwarts student waved gently, and the cat turned away sassily. What a ray of sunshine... More time passed, and a tawny owl was observing Celia closely with a dazzling emerald gaze. The handsome bird of prey reminded Celia more of a trained hawk than an owl.
Then, it happened.
The cutest thing ever in the name of ever was looking at Celia. Lovestruck, the girl immediately stepped towards the adorable little ferret staring at her. "Hello there," Celia cooed, "Aren't you cute?" Lifting the ferret from its cage with great care, the first year's eyes gleamed in adoration.
How can something be so adorable!? she screamed internally. "Nice to meet you." Celia looked at the masked ferret for only 13 seconds, and she had already vowed to die for it. The ferret wiggled its ears, blinking its large black eyes at Celia. This has to be the one! Celia thought. Stroking the ferret gently, she carried it back to Ernest at the counter.
"I'd like this little one, please!" The student requested. "Ah, so you've chosen this fella! He's got a reputation for snatching things, this one." Ernest chuckled. "That'll be fourteen galleons and a couple of sickles." Celia happily paid the expense, smiling at her new friend.
"I think I'll name you Bandit." she said.
As Celia was about to leave, an elderly woman in a floral dress appeared with a tray of fragrant cookies. "Oh- before you leave, would you and your little friend like a sugar cookie? the woman inquired with a smile. "Really? Yes please, thank you!" Celia replied, picking a cookie from the offered tray. She waved the elderly couple goodbye, giving Bandit bits of cookie crumbs as she headed back to the exit of Diagon Alley.
