Someone would think that for this duel at least for a bit Ming would suffer some strand of bad luck. However none such things were the case, because Ming seemed to be the only duellist in this duel capable of actually hitting a target. Perhaps this was just to drop his awareness to ensure absolute chaos in the next round of this. However for now he was in luck and his Knockback jinx would find its target, hitting Julian strong, despite his best efforts to predict what was coming for him by assuming a defensive stance. Both Starlee and Hades seemed to be thinking alike at this instance, targeting one another with the very same spell, well almost as the lad was going for Ming instead. This could have been quite a beautiful moment otherwise of the two of them missing one another. Well, they were still misses. Well another reason this was not quite the beautiful sight was that Julian involuntarily decided just then that this was more than he could take and fainted on the stage. Immediately some nurse assistants would rush onto the piste and recover his unconscious body, so that the young badger could acquire medical attention. Any onlookers might hope the duellists would step up their game in the next round as surely there was more potential in either of them, with a little bit of luck and even more skill? Then again, a 2v1 would really push the odds into the favor of the viridian vipers. One would have to wait and see.

And so it goes in the ways of dueling it seemed, the younger and more squishy target that had been in the sights of both of the Viridian Vipers was taken off the piste after he was knocked unconscious by Ming’s well cast Flipendo. What had to be worse for Julian was the fact that he had tried to elude combat for the last two rounds, but little good it had done him.

”Nice job Ming,” Starlee began, “Let’s keep this up.” she ended, fierceness in her tone. She would have to ignore her own miss for now, but with the odds at 2 vs 1, Starlee felt they had a bit more luck on their side.

Hui-Ming was hardly the type of person to vocalize his excitement. It was not the done thing, unrefined and undignified, more suite to children than the young men and women they were becoming.

Still, a part of the young Slytherin could not help but be but feel at least a little bit thrilled the possibility that maybe he was not, if fact, going to end up with a slate of all losses this year.

He nodded at his upperclassman, turning his attention over to the other opponent.

"Yes," he said slowly to Miss Kennedy. "Let's."

The duel continued to advance, until Ming performed the spell that turned out to be the end of Julian, who had passed out and the nurses had to assist to remove him from the duel. That worried the badger, wondering if he was okay. But he had seen how Julian had been consistently beaten, being the target of most spells. Hades decided he would go to him as soon as the duel was over. Meanwhile... There were two people he had to beat, whose odds were minimal. It was better to try than give up...

Hades soon laughed after having heard the words of the Slytherins, looking directly at them “See if you will be able... It’s not that I’m so easy to beat,” he said as his eyes rolled. It was something he couldn’t help. He was too proud and would see it as a perfect situation to poke a bit of drive a wedge, given that the 2v1 was not so fair. But that’s what duels were like, right? This happened at least once in each couple throughout the process. Well, now he had to focus to knock these two snakes out.

One would think this duel might have faced more even odds after this round's passing. However due to Starlee cleverly casting a healing charm to keep her partner on the brink of consciousness, the boy would be alive enough to face another round. Perhaps this was for the best, or worse, as Hades relentlessly fired a nasty Knockback jinx at the boy and hit with it. Ming must be in a great deal of pain, though he would likely push through it to see this duel to an end, if he was able to hold on that much longer that is. Other than that there was of course Ming who had chosen this moment to encourage the everlasting idea of Hufflepuffs on fire, hitting poor Hades with the stronger version of the fire spell. Truly this must be the worst fate that could have happened to the badger, after all, they were known to be extra flammable or so the entire school seemed to believe. Well, perhaps this duel would end sooner than expected?

Hui-Ming and Hades traded spells, Flipendo for Incendio. One would think that Hades had the advantage, being both older and untargeted thus far. One would be wrong.

The Duelling co-captain blinked in surprise at the unexpected aid he received from his partner -- he himself had largely been dismissive of healing spells in duels, finding it inadequate to keep up with the sheer hurt that would be carelessly lobbed around.

He would be wrong.

"Thank you, Miss Kennedy."

It was clear to Starlee that Ming was the remaining Hufflepuff’s target, and Starlee couldn’t say she was mad about it. It was strategic, that’s all, same as they had done to take out Julian.

It was also clear that Ming wasn’t going to last too much longer, especially being the target, and Starlee had to do something.

Turning to Ming instead of Hades, Starlee did was she was practically born to do, and healed the younger student. Starlee’s prediction had been right as well, as Hades cast Flipendo at Ming, but he wasn’t out of this fight just yet.

”Of course, Ming, it looked like you could use it.” He was doing well despite the clear pain, and Hades was beginning to look at little rough as well. Just a bit more now.

Everything was going too fast for Hades, and he honestly had the feeling that he was lost now that he was competing two against one, but instead of giving up, that motivated him even more, trying to think about how the boy could get out of it. All it took for the young badger to win was to deflect his little anger as he was feeling that was not cool at all! He was certainly older than both.

He was the first to cast the spell, having used a flipendo spell against Ming, and was lucky. That allowed him to smile, but was quickly erased after seeing how Starlee had performed a healing spell, and then it was Ming who performed the same spell as his, having all managed to work the spell and hit his targets. Wow, that was really hard to get his win, right?

All spells cast this time, were the exact same as before. However, the success rate was a lot lower as 2 out of the 3 spells missed their target. Hades' wand was aimed at Ming, as the boy cast the knockback jinx. Sadly for the badger, Ming dodged the spell with ease.

While there was still a flame burning in Hades' skin, Ming tried hitting the student with another incendio duo. Ming's spell was aimed really well, but Hades still managed to dodge the incoming spell. The only spell that did what it was supposed to this round was Starlee's. The duellist healed her partner once again, leading to Ming looking a lot more alive than before.

Fang Hui-Ming opened his mouth to try and defend his honor, to say that he was just fine, thank you very much, only to be interrupted by an incoming Knockback Jinx, which forced him to duck.

"Right. Let's talk later. Over tea." He said distractedly to his upperclassman. "Gotta go ahead and win this first."
