A lingering voice lurked throughout the halls, compelling Clark to head to the library- his mood complete with hellfire anger. HOW THE HELL- does the idea of rules work here at Hogwarts? It's full of snotty kids and teenagers who think they're better than the others.

His arms full of the hideous "T"'s of complete failure on his assignments. It's not like he wanted to write a freaking essay about how beautiful trees are. Then again, that statement obviously revealed Clark's lack of concentration- wait- wait- trees... wasn't that a herbology thing? SHIT!

HE FAILED INCENDIO? HOW THE HELL DO YOU FAIL A FIRE SPELL?

He turned right and ran straight into the library and pushed several young students out of the way. "OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY! I'M HERE TO DEMOLISH THE NIGHTMARISH JOURNEY YOU HAVE ISSUED ME ON YOU STUPID HOGWARTS."

He tore books off the shelf with speed- and jerked certain pages out quickly, clumps sticking to his hand- the covers flew to the ground. But the clumps of pages remained in his hand. He ran to the librarian's desk then back, and ended up dropping the papers in his hands- with the exception of the failed homework assignment. He hated the troll so much.

The calm mood of the day stuck around since the moment Gabriel woke up. To say today wasn't dull would be a bold-faced lie. Gabriel couldn't stand the presence of peace in the common room; it seemed to suffocate him like a stuffy room laced with perfume. The library called to him during days like this, since reading was his favorite hobby, he would be able to escape the boring day. He strolled to the library, but instead of its usual quietness, he heard shouts that could only come from one person.

He sighed, and his eyes widened when he saw the tiny goblin Clark, seemingly infuriated. What about? Gabe had no idea, but he could guess it was something stupid. He pinched his brow as he watched the munchkin storm throughout the library, knocking over multiple kids as he went. Resting his hands at his sides, he walked further into the library, helping up some kids on his way.

His jaw dropped in an offended way as Clark tore up some library books. He hurried over to check on the books, oh and Clark of course, but first the books. He got over to the shelf as Clark ran to the librarian's desk, not noticing him yet. Gabriel picked up the books, their covers torn off and loads of pages missing. To his relief, he knew none of the books; therefore, no harm was done. As Clark ran back, pages falling out of his hands, Gabriel held out a hand to stop him. "Calm down please, watch where you're running." He raised an eyebrow in concern, wondering what upset him this time.

Since he had started at Hogwarts, Mateo had been quite pleasantly surprised at the lack of mischief that had been occurring in his realm. He did not particularly like telling students off, but if it came down to the destruction of the books, he would not hesitate to intervene.

However, today would not be a day of calm and peace.

A young boy had come rushing in, clearly angry and frustrated at something, Mateo hadn't inquired what just yet. But he was causing quite the large disruption, which Mateo couldn't allow to happen. After all, the Library was a place of quiet and tranquility for those to study or relax. This student couldn't have been further from quiet and tranquil.

He made his way over to where the young boy seemed to be talking with another, and his eyes widened in shock as he caught a glimpse of the destroyed books. Breathe, he had to remind himself. This student probably means no harm.

"Excuse me," he'd interrupt, keeping his voice as level as he could. "But I am going to have to ask you to stop this behaviour. You are disturbing other students from their studies, and also you are damaging the school's property, which I cannot allow. If you continue, I am going to insist you leave."

Putting his quill between his teeth, Finnegan flipped through the pages of Wizards, Witches and Wars by Darius Figleaf and frowned. He'd already crumpled up and discarded one roll of parchment on his assignment to write about relationship between wizardingkind and goblins.

That a goblin rebellion had started in 1612 had been easy enough to find out, but discovering who had started it proved to be far harder. There were many conflicting accounts, at least two of which were written in Old English which, while it made a bit more sense than Gobbledegook, left him stumped for the answer. "Oh, come on..." he groaned when he discovered that Figleaf's book went no further back than the 1700s. Sighing, he shut the book close and added it to the growing pile of tomes that was starting to overtake his little desk in a corner of the library. Normally he wouldn't have bothered to go through such efforts for his homework, but his failure to do any wandwork reliably had motivated him to at least get a good grade at History of Magic, which was the most muggle-like subject taught at Hogwarts. In theory, that meant he shouldn't have any disadvantage compared to people from wizarding families. In theory.

In practice he was about five minutes away from swallowong his pride and asking his personal encyclopedia by the name of Alma Stoll for help.

Just as he muttered an exasperated curse under his breath, a loud noise made him turn his head. There was a loud, high-pitched, almost squealing voice followed by the sound of paper ripping and hurried footsteps. He glanced over his shoulder just in time to see the librarian halt an impish (and very angry) looking boy trailed by a Gryffindor that he'd seen in his classes but whose name he didn't yet know.

Whatever. Mr Sáez seemed to be nipping the problem in the bud with a few stern words and Finnegan returned his gaze to his hopeless assignment. Not liking his own slanted scribblings, he crumpled up his latest attempt in his fist, idly pointed his wand at it and set it ablaze with a gruffly muttered incendio before lobbing it over his shoulder.

What he hadn't accounted for was just how far the balled up paper went, or how slowly it burned, or even what it looked like what he was doing. The stack of books on his desk and the small pile of crumpled notes at the legs of his chair made it seem like he'd been ripping up pages and was now casually setting them on fire one-by-one before chucking them over his shoulder.

A grin of mischief, and Clark began to notice the possibility he might be recognized- and it wasn't anything he sure as hell needed to get into. But then again- oh- no. An- adult.

His smile quickly diminished, and he tried to make himself look as innocent as possible- even if his Knight was there with him. "This behavior, sir? Oh, I would never! It was- it was- okay, fine, I admit it. I did this- I made the mess. I'll clean it up right away! I am so sorry mr-- nerd."

A smirk, but Clark turned away to hide his expression before turning back around and pulling his wand out of the back of his pants, preparing for a... hot... moment.

"Say... buddy... what do you think of heat? Oh whatever, there's no need to talk! I'm going to go ahead and clean up the mess right now!"

Without a moment to waste, he immediately bent over to whisper something in Gabriel's ear, whispering in Gobbledygook, maybe to translate to him later. "Dum's kursas su kas srek vroca um kera. Yui dmuv uir osraakams. Wa dum's maad omae mardk rara. Trek ek o kcruur kur broqa- broqa- kam reda.. kae Kmesrs em Sremems Arkur." Don't forget to set this place on fire. You know our agreement. We don't need any nerds here. This is a school for brave- brave- men like.. my Knight in Shining Armor.

Then a boy came in- and he was still leaning in Gabriel's ear when he realized what had just came out of his mouth- "why is he hot."

Gabriel rolled his eyes, somewhat suppressing a grin of his own at Clark’s disregard of safety. Any worries he may have had vanished at the sight of the Librarian approaching them. Not surprisingly, his first thought was that he had better not get another detention, but the sight of Clark’s face was all worth it.

Fortunately, the typical adult lecture seemed to only be directed at Clark; Gabe had no part in destruction…yet. He gripped the back of Clark’s shoulder, smirking at Clark’s attempt to look innocent. It was so unconvincing, Gabriel couldn't help but look away to hide his grin.

He watched carefully as the boy pulled his wand out and turned back around, hoping he wasn’t about to…have a hot headed moment. It was far too early for that, especially with an adult present. He faced the librarian, Mr Saez was his name? Whatever. Didn’t matter. Gabriel just wanted him to go away.

“Oh and don’t worry sir, I’ll be sure to help him clean this mess up. Nothing to worry about!” “Nerd..” He added under his breath while Clark whispered unintelligible nonsense in his ear. All the while, Gabe continued to nod and smile as if he had understood a word of what Clark said.

He smiled quickly at the librarian before the most random thing was muttered in his ear. Gabriel looked quickly up at Clark, a look of concern and bewilderment on his face before he realized Clark was looking at something. He turned at the spot the kid’s eyes were fixated on, just to see another young boy.

Ridiculous. They did not need any distractions now. He gave the transfixed Clark a small push and a very clear eye roll. “Let’s not get caught up before we can..study like we were here to do. Perhaps you can talk to him after you clean this mess up and we get our studying done.” Gabriel added sarcastically, hoping to shake off the librarian and knock some sense into the little man.

He wanted to go off and hide beneath a blanket or something to coat him with a sense of security to hide him from the shame of what he said- out loud.

And there was nothing he could do about it. The thought of humiliation blurred across his head, and he wasn’t going to let it happen anymore. He would be a man!

He would be tough! But how could he remain tough with the simple mentions of how much he loves Gabriel- leak out of his mouth with a taste of… regret. He loved him- but he wished that Gabriel didn’t stick with the goblin and risk getting himself in trouble. After all, Gabriel was important and worth a better person.

The sense of rage struck his mind, and he would only use that as a method of withdrawing his slender wand- and making the wand movement for the spell that would penalize people if in the wrong hands- and now- in this case- it was in the wrong hands. It was in Clark’s hands.

“INCENDIO!” Clark yelled, displaying his part goblin meagerness and realized who was in front of him just as the jet of flame shot out of the wand and set the books behind the Librarian on fire. “Oh shit.”

That said, Clark took off running to another corner of the library hoping to avoid contact with Mateo.

Mateo held back from rolling his eyes at the young child's words. He knew better than to believe the likes of kids like him - alas, he had been boisterous and a troublemaker similar to him when he had been eleven years old. But he had grown up since then, and now he had a career, and a job that required him to take care of the books he had been entrusted with. If this child wasn't going to abide by them, then he had little choices left.

From the corner of his eye, he noticed the troublemaker glance at another, who had begun setting fire to his own work. Mateo sighed. He'd have to deal with him after this one.

As a jet of flames shot past his shoulder and alit the books behind him, Mateo finally caved and rolled his eyes. Sometimes kids were more than he could imagine. Like a choir conductor, he closed his fist, and the flames extinguished behind him, though they had definitely caused some damage to the books, that was unavoidable.

"Ay dios mío."Oh my God.

"You," he pointed at the young boy who had accompanied the troublemaker. "Follow me. I wouldn't advise running like your friend has."

He strode into the bookcases, but first passing the student who had inspired this act of spontaneity, with a smouldering pile of crumpled papers by his chair. Copying his action from earlier to extinguish the flames, he addressed him too. "Hey, you. Come with me. Bring your things. And, yes, you are in trouble. I would follow as I say, my patience is hanging on by a thread now."

It didn't take him too long to uncover the initial perpetrator, hidden amongst the shelves. "Well, I guess you're expecting a detention by now, huh?" he addressed him. "And this is for all three of you. You know you shouldn't be setting fire to things, especially in a Library with plenty of flammable materials around, and I would always advise not insulting the person who is trying to be lenient. I ought to have you all banned from the Library at this point."

He took a deep breath. "But that would be incredibly harsh. However, you still will all serve detention with me, tomorrow, understood?"

Mateo wasn't in the mood to wait for an answer particularly. These kids would serve detention whether they liked it or not. He escorted them all back to the entrance of the Library, with a nod of his head. "I expect to see you all tomorrow after class. No exceptions."

Before he could run off, he stopped the initial boy who had started this whole mess. "Amd maxs seka aeui vrom su axvuka aeuir vrom em omusrar romsiosa, I'd ba corakir obuis vru arka kesrs orku imdarksomd aeui." And next time you plan to expose your plan in another language, I'd be careful about who else might also understand you. With a final smile, he let the boy go and enjoy the rest of his day.
