Closed You... You Named It?! PV Cassie Jiang

As April died, the days were finally getting warmer, which meant a great many students were really starting to venture outside again after the long, cold winter. One such student, was EmmaLee LeDames, who never seemed to miss an opportunity to be outside, warm or cold weather. You'd think she would have gained some color over the year, considering her frequency under the sun, but no, her skin was still an almost irritating pale peach. Oh well.

At the first opportunity she had on that warm April day, the pale Hufflepuff pushed open the large doors that lead from the entrance hall to the glorious warming sun and she ran down to the lake, plopping down under a large birch tree nearby. As she gazed out upon the lake, she wondered if it would be warm enough to swim in yet. It had been such a long time since she was able to swim in any kind of waters, and she deeply missed the lake of New York and the warm sea of Southern France. With a grin, the adventurous young student decided to go ahead and chance it. The idea that there might be anything dangerous in the lake had definitely slipped her mind as well as the rule that she wasn't allowed to swim unsupervised. The former memory was lost in the excitement of the warm weather and the inviting water.

Hopping up happily, the young girl pulled off her heavier school robes to reveal a black undershirt and black shorts. As her mother always told her, no one should ever be able to see one's underwear should they find themselves rolling around or upside down. EmmaLee left her robes under the birch tree and jumped into the lake, her lithe limbs folded together cannon ball style, with a great splash.

As she swam forward, a long bundle of white slowly streaked across the water of the Great Lake before a pale face popped up from under it and took a calm but deep breath. Bright blue eyes scanned the surface of the water eagerly and then the pale creature laughed loud with a sound like a ringing bell. The water was colder than she had anticipated, but it still felt wonderful to be swimming again. Before coming to Hogwarts, the French girl could be found in the water at least twice a week, if not more, even in the winter where her mother would take her to warmer climates to enjoy the sea.

EmmaLee resurfaced and dived a couple more times before leaning back happily and gliding in a backstroke across the dark waters. She did exercise some caution in that she did not stray too far from the shore, making sure she remained within ten feet of the shore where her robes were carefully laid under the tree.
