The Long Day
It had been a long day and I was just looking for a good spot to relax. Most people were getting ready for dinner so I decided to go to the courtyard which should be pretty empty. Like I had guessed there was only one skinny little girl sitting across the yard. To my surprise she almost flew out of her chair and then she quickly ran into the large castle and disappeared. She must be very shy. I sat on a nearby bench near a fountain and set down my stuff. I had about 35 minutes to spare and I wasn’t one to waste one bit. I grabbed my bag and reached into it. Once I placed my hand on the parchment I pulled it out. My quill was near it and I pulled that out also.
I quickly wrote a short letter.
I wrapped up the delicate paper and made sure the ink wouldn’t smudge. Just as I was about to wrap it up it started to spread so I held it open for a couple more seconds. I wasn’t sure how long I would have to wait so I started to glance at the yard again. By now people were about to head to dinner and we’re going through the yard to get to the great hall. I blew on my parchment and wrapped it up. I decided it was to head to dinner.
I quickly wrote a short letter.

Dear Mum,
How are you Mum? Is everyone well. Things are going relatively well and even though I wrote to you recently I wanted to write to you again and tell you about my day. I went to many classes that I very much enjoyed. I truly do think this will be a great year. Is dad still doing well? Do you still think he will get his promotion soon? Tell Walter I wish him well, and hope he has an excellent week. Love your daughter, Kinsey.
