When indiscretion pays off
Martha entered the History of Magic class wiping away many tears which, alas, had dried on her full cheeks. The blonde had concluded that her family understood that she was in Slytherin. No one had been sending him letters since the famous ceremony, which saddened him to the highest degree.
She sat down at her respective table and pulled out her History of Magic assignment. She tried to concentrate as much as possible. But when sadness reached her, she came to nothing.
The problem was that she had to go back to her duty if she didn't want to get a bad grade, or worse, a holdback! There was only one solution: cheating. Martha pulled out a cheat feather as discreetly as possible. It was not a feather like the others. A Slytherin had given it to her saying she was cheating. The blonde remembered to go and thank this student.
She began to write with the help of her pen, and there the magic appeared: she saw all the answers of her duty! Quickly, she copied, not suspecting that a Gryffindor sitting next to her had noticed her cheating. When her task was completed, she took out a new roll to make another. This special cheat feather was awesome. She was going to use it more often now. A smirk appeared on his face.
This is how she cheated elegantly, not knowing what was going to happen to her right after.

When indiscretion pays off
amaris knight had always hated cheaters, for your information.
cheaters made the world unfair, and amaris knew that the world wasn't fair, but it should have been. the world was an unfair place for being so unfair. yet the most of the mass population of the world were cheaters, especially slytherins. every slytherin's fatal flaw, perhaps aside from those with hurbis, was ambition. for them, the ends always justify the means. they would do anything to achieve something they view as 'good', even if it was as small as an 'O' on a simple history of magic test. this slytherin, martha spaycer, was no different.
she was a seemingly charming young lady, when amaris first saw her. she was a petite girl, with a patented 'stereotypical British Alice' look: wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, perhaps some discreet freckles near her nose. she would have made for a pretty girl, if she was not so distraught, if the dried tears on her cheeks had not been visible. pity her, she must have weeped herself to sleep the last night, if she had not cried today.
amaris understood why she was upset. she had been sorted into the 'wrong' house, like amaris herself. it was evident, for there was no other reason whatsoever for a new first year like martha to cry. slytherin had never had a favourable reputation, producing some of the most famous, or rather infamous dark wizards throughout the years, including tom riddle himself. amaris had never cared for slytherin house; never believed its dark reputation as truth. most of her family were slytherins and they were simply normal wizards and witches.
thankfully for her amaris had met someone supportive, a white-haired boy who had introduced himself as kim aoki. he had been a little distant at first, but that was to be expected, since he was strangers with amaris. yet as they talked through their experiences, with kim revealing that he hadn't wanted to be in gryffindor either, amaris' predicament hadn't seemed so terrible anymore. she knew that slowly, she would come to accept gryffindor house as her own, toss her hair, and forget about ravenclaw.
yet she would never tell her mother that she was a gryffindor, never. of course, amaris' father would accept it, being a past gryffindor himself, but alyssa had always had her eyes set on a ravenclaw daughter. not only that, amaris seemed like the perfect ravenclaw, intelligent, curious, and witty. but perhaps there was something more in her than what was in elspeth, her 'perfect' ravenclaw cousin. she would be proud to be a gryffindor.
the test had started and amaris glanced over the questions she was given, all incredibly easy. she answered one after another, yet there was one that she could not answer: question no. 7. cautiously, she glanced over at the blonde next to her, not to cheat, but to check her progress. as amaris looked a the slytherin however, she realised that she was going much too fast than she should be able to do. then she looked closer, and amaris found out that it was an auto-answers quill.
'stop cheating this instant or you'll regret it,' she said smoothly and smugly. 'is what you want detention?'

When indiscretion pays off
When Martha started cheating, she didn't think about the girl who was sitting next to her, and who obviously had the eye. The blonde jumped when the Gryffindor threatened her, telling her to stop cheating if she didn't want to regret it. Martha turned to her classmate, and raised her eyebrows, surprised. She sighed deeply, and shook her head. Usually, Martha didn't have a very strong character. She was rather discreet and kind. But there, she didn't care about everything around her, and didn't hesitate to reply: "I don't see why I should stop cheating. What are you going to do, otherwise?" she asked with a hint of anger and defiance in her voice.
She let out a small chuckle, then sighed again. She returned to the contemplation of her duty, and continued to cheat with a certain pride. Before, she didn't know she knew how to hold her own. "You're going to call the headmaster, and tell him I'm cheating? And what's going to happen after that, huh? I'm going to be kicked out of Hogwarts? No kidding," she said, rolling her eyes. Then she continued her cheating by throwing a few glances at the Gryffindor next to her.
It was her first time cheating, and she found it amusing. She longed to see her parents' reaction, even if she had no news from them. They would get an owl explaining that their daughter is breaking school rules, and they would be embarrassed. I can't wait to see this, she thought.
@Amaris Knight Sorry for the delay, I'm trying to catch up
