Yesterday was quite a show. Who would've thought that things would escalate that quickly. The fight could've been avoidable, Raizel knows that. She could've just let it go but no, that wasn't an option for the Gryffindor during that time. She was not in the mood yesterday and after getting picked on by the Slytherin Student, Lucian Mornstern, she finally had enough. Why was she in a sour mood yesterday though? The fact that she could've at least taken a nap during class if it wasn't for that annoying boy? Yeah, maybe that. Sleep is good, she needs it and she sure doesn't want anyone ruining that for her.

It was dinner time already, yet here she is, outside, in the courtyard, leaned on one of the arcways with crossed arms and looking at the darkening skies above with her thoughts going back to what had transpired yesterday. She had only eaten a bit of food before going outside to enjoy some fresh air before curfew. Spell casting was involved in that fight, more reason for the prefect who had caught them, Beatrice Langstreth, to issue them detention which she and Lucian would probably receive after a couple of days. Detention, what would her parents think though? She started the fight. Well, it was the Slytherin boy who tested her patience but she was the first to cast a spell on him, afraid of not being able to get back at him when he had hovered his hand over his wand.

Is she regretting her actions now that her parents might find out about it? Maybe, maybe not. Still, this is something she can't hide and she could already see the disappointment on their faces, making her grimace at that thought. Well, the only way to make herself feel better about this is by accepting the punishment that the prefect will give them. Hopefully, that'll at least give her some sort of peace with what she had done although there is no guarantee that she won't do it again.

She has a very reckless attitude if pushed to the limit. She's aware of that. Starting a fight is not something she won't do, especially when things go too far. She will make sure to let them know that they messed with the wrong person. She is quiet most of the time, trying to avoid conflict but if they think she's just gonna stay quiet while they pick on her and go too far with it, then they are wrong. That's probably too Gryffindor-like. Raizel sighed. To be honest, maybe she went too far with that fight but oh well.

It certainly was getting warmer again, Levi thought as he looked outside in his final few lessons. And he was going to make the most out of it. He wasn't sure if any of the other students ever tried it, but eating outside in the courtyard seemed like the greatest idea he'd ever had. Of course, this did mean he'd first have to go to the Great Hall and get enough food to fill his plate before proceeding. And, come to think of it, he had been a tad busy with his social life the last few weeks. So maybe he'd just go to eat on his own.

The thoughts trailed him as he went to the Great Hall, saw the tables once again filled with food, and grabbed a plate. Walking in the back, near the doors, he decided on some potatoes with gravy over it, some white beans in tomato sauce and a nice chunk of meat. He also grabbed a goblet and filled it with ice cream. It will melt though, won't it? In his quick thinking, he decided he would start with dessert. The best part of the meal anyway.

Balancing the plate and the goblet, he made his way outside. "Okay, it's definitely colder than I thought." He said out loud, thinking he had the courtyard to himself. Looking around, he spotted a nice looking bench that seemed good enough for him and his plate. The ice was slowly melting, so before he sat down he took a big gulp already. It was then that he noticed he was not in fact alone. Another Gryffindor first year student was leaning on the archway, seemingly completely lost in thought. If I don't say anything, she might not see me... Oh, but I make noises while I'm eating... Screw it.

"Hi there, fellow brave lion. Come to dine outside as well?" He tried to put on his biggest smile, before grabbing some of the potatoes with his fork and stuffing his mouth with it. "Mmm, you... can have some of... mine, if you want."

With Raizel so deep into her own thoughts, she had failed to notice the Gryffindor boy who just arrived in the courtyard holding a plate and a goblet. It would've made her wonder why on Earth they decided to eat outside. But then again, with the courtyard looking rather empty, it would be the best place to eat if you want some peace and quiet. The only time that the girl noticed him was when she heard his voice calling out to her. Brave lion? She wondered, wondering if there are any other Gryffindor that the boy is calling out to, but she couldn't see anyone else within his vicinity who's a Gryffindor aside from her so he's probably talking to her.

Looking over to the boy, she began to observe him, just trying to recall if she had seen him before. Well, he seems familiar, probably seen him a couple of times in the Gryffindor Common Rooms and Classes but like any other people, his name is something that she couldn't remember. "Uh, thanks for the offer but I am kind of full right now." She responded to his offer with a smile on her face, returning the friendliness that the boy is radiating. "What's up?" She asked with a rather curious look in her dark brown eyes. It is rare to see someone eating outside when most people will be feasting in the Great Hall during this time, eating until they are full.

"People don't usually eat out." She added, looking over to the door towards the castle. Perhaps it got too crowded for him. She could see herself doing the same when she's too tired to deal with people. She then glanced back, waiting for his response if he even wants to respond to her question anyway. It was a simple question anyway and he took his time to notice her there and even interact with her so might as well get some conversation going. Her social skills aren't that good just yet but it is way better than when she first started out in this school when she's just a bundle of shyness and a nervous wreck.

The girl didn’t want any of his food, which made sense to Levi as he realised the sight of him eating wasn’t always appetising. He didn’t just eat, he devoured. Especially when it tasted as good as the things he’d chosen to eat tonight. “Don’t… Worry… I’ll finish it myself.” He swallowed a particularly big bite.
“People don’t usually eat out.” The girl said while looking towards the castle doors.
“Well, that’s because people are idiots.” He grinned, taking another bite of the ice cream before pointing at the sky with the spoon. “You see that, huh? An almost clear sky. This is Scotland. You know how rare that is? The enchanted ceiling doesn’t do the trick of the real experience here. I’d much rather look up and eat while I can.”

Besides, it had been months since a day was nice enough to sit outside. The winter had been quite cold and wet, which were two of Levi’s least favourite things. He munched on a few bites more, before grabbing the final one of his plate. “So good. You really don’t know what you missed out on here.” He said, as he grabbed the goblet and gobbled up the remaining ice cream as well. “Now, let’s get that ‘brain freeze’ as the muggleborns would say.” He took the goblet to his lips and poured the melted bits of ice cream in his mouth. Immediately he felt his head burn a little. “Yes, that does it.”

Wiping his hands on his robe, he turned towards the girl again. “Now, I went out for a lovely moonlit meal. But what are you doing out here, on your own?”

Raizel smiled, finding the boy amusing because of his response when she declined his offer of sharing his food and she is glad about that since the boy looked hungry. Eating off of someone's plate, especially from someone that she doesn't know that well would be too embarrassing for her. She had already eaten as well, too full for another serving and not really in the mood for a feast or eat a lot.

She looked up when the boy pointed up to the sky with his spoon, listening as he answered her question on why he would want to eat out here. The weather was indeed nice tonight and like he said, a rare weather around here. It was clear, one could see the stars that's slowly filling up the darkening skies above with little to no clouds in sight. Why she did love the cold weather that winter brought, it is still nice to feel the warmth of spring. Raizel chuckled, agreeing with him that the enchanted ceiling that they have back in the Great Hall won't give the same experience as eating under a real night sky. "Guess you're right about that."

The girl raised an eyebrow as she looked back at the boy, her gaze falling onto the goblet that's filled with melted ice cream. Wow, he even brought that despite knowing that it'll melt. He really was amusing, much more when he gulped down the melted bits of it and got a brain freeze. At least he's enjoying his meal. Then, he asked his question.

Raizel looked at him as she thought about the answer to that one and then back to the skies, her expression looking a bit neutral as the smile on her face disappeared. "Hope you are enjoying your meal then and as for me, I'm just getting some fresh air I guess." She shrugged, not taking her eyes off of the sky for a few minutes before glancing back at the boy. "It gets overwhelming inside sometimes for me. I don't do well in crowds." She didn't lie, crowds can get very noisy for her most of the time although the real reason isn't exactly that. She just wanted a quiet place to gather her thoughts and think clearly about what had happened yesterday.

Of course Levi had expected that someone being on their own outside, during dinner time, would not be there for the funniest reason ever. But the quick way Raizel’s smile disappeared made him feel slightly sad. Whatever had caused her to be upset, she clearly didn’t particularly want to be reminded of it. “I’m just getting some fresh air I guess.” She simply said.

He waited in silence, letting the words sink in. If she truly is here to get fresh air, why does she not look happy? It’s fresh enough! After sitting there in silence for a bit, she continued. "It gets overwhelming inside sometimes for me. I don't do well in crowds." Now that Levi could not really understand. He loved crowds, the more the merrier, and if it were up to him he’d be the centre of attention every single day.

“That’s too bad.” He said, trying to figure out what caused the girl to be so displeased with it. “Have you always had that? Or is it a more recent thing?” He knew quite a few people didn’t have a busy homelife, and for those who didn’t grow up with sisters or brothers he could imagine the hallways of Hogwarts becoming a little too much. “Because as much as I talk about myself and eat like a troll, I do actually know how to listen if I need to, you know?” He tried to smile encouragingly at the girl.

He placed his goblet and plate on the floor beside the bench he was sitting on and patted the place beside him. “Would you like to sit down for your chat with Levi? For you, I’ll be there for free advice - no guarantees for success though.” He hoped his humour would make her laugh again.

"It's something that I always have." Raizel answered, shrugging as she thought more about it. "While it's fun hanging out with people, there are just days that I don't feel like it and that's when I began to feel overwhelmed by crowds and I do prefer a quiet environment most of the time. It's peaceful and relaxing." Was that a good enough explanation for it? She wondered. Maybe he finds it weird but that's just how she is. She isn't as social as the others but she's trying to work on that though. But still, crowds are overwhelming sometimes and she doubts that'll change quickly.

Raizel glanced at him as he offered a seat beside him and free advice? For what? That just made her smile and chuckle, shaking her head. Who would've thought that a complete stranger would be so willing to offer that. "You're quite something…" she uttered with an amused look on her face. "And what kind of advice are you gonna give me?" She asked as she walked closer to where he was, giving the boy a proper look. "I believe I didn't get your name yet either." He didn't mention his name yet, that's for sure, or did she just miss it in their conversation earlier. Maybe they even met before and she totally forgot about it.

What's with the late introduction anyway? Every time she met someone, introductions were always late and they had probably exchanged so many words already before they even got each other's name. It was funny in a way though as she always finds herself in situations like that. "Mine's Raizel Voltrouz." She introduced herself to him before waiting patiently for his response.

Her explanation felt perfectly reasonable to Levi. Yes, it was fun to hang out with people but at Hogwarts any moment alone was rare and he could imagine others not always wanting to be surrounded by crowds. He chuckled a little as she moved on to tell him he was ‘quite something’. At least she looked amused and not annoyed - he would’ve understood it completely had she dismissed his presence. She wouldn’t be the first one.

“And what kind of advice are you gonna give me?” He’d almost forgotten he’d promised her that, but before he could formulate a response she asked for his name and shared hers. “Mine’s Raizel Voltrouz.”
“Nice to meet you, miss Voltrouz. My name is Levi Hawthorne.” He held out his hand, hoping she’d shake it. “As for the advice…” He thought for a second before replying.
“It’s rare to get moments alone in a school that is catered to bring people together. But if you really want a lonely moment, there’s more secret places for that.” His father had told him of some of Hogwarts secrets, while also reminding him that the school seemed to change on its own at times. Those secrets might not be there anymore either.

“Actually, I think I heard about a room that changes based on what you need. So I bet if you could find the hall it supposedly appears in, it would show you a quiet place to get away.” If only he remembered exactly where it could be. “Sadly, I have not found out exactly where that is… Maybe I don’t need it as bad yet.” Though he could’ve used it to hide in whenever his parents owled him with their disappointment barely hidden in the letters. Those he’d like to never remember at times. “Or, you know, you could wait for strange guys like me to bother you while you’re in a public space. I’m told it has its charm.”

She really can't get used to the formalities that people use here all the time. It was strange being called 'Miss Voltrouz' for Raizel but maybe that's just her not used to being addressed that way. Even though she had been here for months now and had heard that almost everyday whenever someone calls her, she still can't get used to it. "Levi Hawthorne… nice meeting you." It does make her wonder how people would like themselves to be addressed. Like this boy. Should she call him by his name? Perhaps Mr. Hawthorne or just Hawthorne.

Her train of thought was then broken by the next thing that Levi told her. Secret places, now that's interesting. "Alright, I'm listening." She told him with a smile, listening intently as he explained what that secret place is. A room that changes based on what you need? She had heard about that but for some reason, even though she would like to find a peaceful place, she didn't have that thought of finding such a secret place. "That place sounds brilliant alright. Could be a good way to explore Hogwarts if I do try to find that place for myself. Then again, I might not need it that badly yet as well. If I do, it would've probably appeared."

She paused, finally sitting down on the bench, leaning back and looking up to the skies. "The last one seems fun though but I don't find you strange at all. Amusing, would be the right word for that." She chuckled. Amusing indeed. Usually, she cowers from people she just met but on some rare occasions, she finds herself having a conversation with them as if they had met before like this one.
