What did Aida need? For all the hours spent at the duelling piste and in the library and observing beasts across Hogwarts’s premises, what Aida really lacked was for opportunity to knock. Apart from perhaps the most meaningful day of the white wix’s life at the recent Fall Ball, it seemed like all Aida ever did was train for someday, that magical day when they could bring their hard-won knowledge and skills to bear. It was not for lack of purpose that Aida did not find an outlet for applying themselves in real-world engagements, for the Undead King had been quite clear in Aida’s holy mission. Yet, to free the trapped, abused beasts of the world, Aida first had to find them. Little did they know, training with unusual opponents such as the Welsh fox would be essential practice for new challenges to come that extended beyond duelling mechanics.

“Bur-nett,” tested out the white-haired Scot. “Burnett. I look forward to learning your story. Let me copy you then, and you can call me Ellwood. It’s really Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood but all kinds of animal names get shortened for convenience.” Aida tipped their head, still in the habit of doling out hippogriff courtesies since it was mostly from non-humans from which the wix had learned manners. “Now, pretend there’s a straight line running between you and me and you can’t get too far off to the side or you’ll fall off of an invisible ledge. In duelling there’s a platform called a piste that you’ve got to stay on. Then we use strategy to attack each other, and the first one to knock the other out is sometimes the victor. Otherwise, the person who took the most damage in a the time allowed is the one who loses unless someone breaks a rule, like firing at someone when they're petrified. I prefer knocking people out because then you can’t wonder if the judge is being fair about who was more damaged. Now, ready your wand and try a spell on me. I’ll try to get out of the way and throw one at you at the same time. On the count of three! One… two… three!”

Aida aimed their wand at the redheaded fox and began channeling a spell right out of the gate while ducking to the left. “Petrificus totalus!”

Hey guys! Sorry for the tag, but just wanted to say that your characters will still receive the gift bags and gifts from the party, since they were signed up ahead of time.
This also goes for any other people who do not show, and have owled Kim and i at they will not be able to attend for a valid reason.

Kim drew attention to bailey, and she went ahead with her announcement for the Photo Booth. Her partner in crime, her best friend did have quite a dashing figure, though she knew he hated being reminded of that.
After she finished her announcement, she asked Kim if they should go double check their snow tunnel + gift exchange area.
He agreed, and mentioned that they should check and make sure that the tunnel was not in danger of falling down. Bailey’s brow furrowed, and she asked worriedly “do you think that is possible? Is that a risk..?”
Bailey made her way to the tunnel by Kim’s side, and made sure to double check everything, making sure the scene was immaculate and perfect.
She smiled at Kim when he spoke, and replied “nope- do you?”
Baileys then made her way into the actual gift exchange room, with Kim per usual.
She smiled at Kim, and then made her way around, fixing a chair that was out of place, to smooth a tablecloth, to tie up a piece of mistletoe in a corner. She smiled when she did so, wondering if anyone would find themselves caught beneath it.
Bailey met back up with Kim, and with a nod she said “ yes let’s do that- and then we can make the announcement for here. Do you want to make that announcement or would you like me to do so?”
Bailey made her way out of the snow tunnel, to survey the scene.

Emerging from the tunnel, Bailey spotted her friend Coco standing in the corner. Bailey, with a smile, made her way over to Colin. Sweeping him into a hug, she said with a smile - “I am so happy you made it!! There is still food, if you’re hungry, and there’s a Photo Booth as well- and soon Kim and I are going to announce the last bit of the party- we set up a gift exchange area!”
Bailey took a step back, and saw that coco has been chatting, or so it seemed, with Damphe, who bailey knew from her MAC club. Bailey smiled at Daphne, and said “hello Daphne! I do hope you are enjoying the party!”

A bit later, as the clock neared a quarter till six, Bailey stood back up near the tables, where she could be seen. Once she held everyone’s attention, she spoke up with a gentle smile and said “hello! I do hope you all have enjoyed the party thus far, and Kim and I would like to announce that we do have one last surprise for today. We have a snow tunnel-“ and here bailey indicated the aforementioned tunnel “ which leads to a winter themed gift exchange area! If you all would make your way into there, you can exchange gifts. Also, Kim and I have prepared goodie bags for you all, and we will be handing them out in the room. Once you have received your goodie bag of treats, you can then do what you wish! We will still have the dance floor running until everyone has dispersed for the night! And I would just like to say- for both Kim and myself, thank you all so much for gracing us with your presence this winter evening! Have a great break and I will see you back next year!”

Instructions:

step one: write your entrance! We have lots planned, and set up!
step two: interact with other players! Please add on the top or bottom of your post if you are open or closed to interactions.
step three: enjoy and food and drinks and dance. There will be snacks and light drinks from 1 PM to 3:30 PM, and the dance floor will be open the entire time, with music provided.
step four: Dinner! Dinner will be served at 4 PM, or after the second or third mod post. On our posts, Kim and I will include announcements for dinner, and there are seating arrangement. I will include a floor plan, with your seating arrangement, in both a group owl, attachment on my post, and in the sign up thread.
Step five: picture booth! This is when attention will be drawn to the picture booth and more detailed instructions will be given at this time.
Step six: snow tunnel/gift exchange! The last part of the BaiKim Bash. You will go through the snow tunnel either by crawling through it to get a snowy icy experience, or by walking through it. When you emerge on the other side, there will be an area set up for you to do private/public gift exchanges. This is a time where if you've bought gifts for each other, you can do the exchange there. If you didn't, you'll be presented with a small gift from BaiKim instead. More details will be provided at this time IC.

She didn't quite know what to say. She didn't want this day to end at all, but he couldn't find words to speak.

"Nice party, isn't it? Well thought out."

Okay, that was a very bad way to open a topic. She was aware of this. There was so much she wanted to say, but he couldn't. She opened his mouth and began to speak.

"Actually, I have something to tell you and I want you to accept me that way. If you don't want to after that, I understand."

She blushed a little when he said that. She had no idea how Gabriel would react, and she didn't know how to say it. When she opened her mouth again, she heard an announcement. She hadn't had a gift to trade.

She pulled out of the snow tunnel. The room they were in was simply incredible. It was snowing, but she felt like a real snow. It was like he had come to a place like heaven. She called Gabriel and went back to him.

"I wish I could have a gift to give you."

She was blushing again. She started watching the others. Then she remembered that he would say the truth. She started talking again.

"I must tell you a truth. Trace. I am a dhamp. So I'm half-vampire. But we can't drink blood, but we don't go out on sunny days, but I-I'm good. Knowing this to know me like this, I said, but if you don't want to talk to you again."

The party was going well, especially with Pandora by his side even if the night wasn’t the smoothest. He smiled sweetly at her comments towards the party, feeling the same way. "The party was great, but they announced the photo booth. I’d rather skip that...” He stopped, noticing the puzzling look on Pandora’s face. Had he said something wrong? “I mean, if you wanted to stay we could, I was only saying..” He blurted out, hoping it wasn’t him that caused it.

Luckily, it was nothing he said but she had something to tell him? Something about accepting her, what was she talking about? “Dora? You can tell me anything you know.” He commented as the announcement for the snow tunnel came on and they climbed through. It was gift giving, and apparently, they shared the same thoughts. Neither her nor Gabe had a gift. He felt stupid for that, how could he not remember. He brushed through his hair embarrassed. He wanted to say it was fine she hadn’t brought him a gift, but the beauty of the room distracted him.

He half gazed at the room, half at Pandora as she started talking again. Oh right, she had something to tell him. Before she finished, he directed his attention at her, smiling to let her know he was

The boy shrugged and gave her a quick hug. “I don’t really care what you are, no matter what. It would never change how I see you.” He smiled, happy she shared this with him. He led her out of the ball and gave her a joking punch. “Although, if you started to drink my blood or something, that might change.”

Aida fired off their own most hated spell – the body bind curse – assuming Jack was not also a claustrophobe, too. The spell not only executed properly but clipped him in the shoulder despite a fair attempt at dodging. The ancient gnarled stick in the white wix’s hand apparently found this impromptu duel exciting enough to want to join in with the strategizing– its phoenix feather core decided the battle really needed an additional spell, accio. After Jack’s choice of maneuver, he froze instantly in place and found his wand yoinked right out of his hand. Aida didn’t even have to take it manually, which was probably a good thing since the thin wix wasn’t built muscularly enough to make it easy to wrench a wand out of a tightly frozen grip.

Now, with the boy stunned and wandless, Aida giggled. Bouncing right up to the redhead, Aida did a frolicking little dance around him, not meaning to mock him but still having as much fun as any mischievous fae folk would have after capturing a funny little human.

“That’s the nice way! I didn’t even have to burn you up or anything. I thought you could use a gentle introduction.” Slowing down as Aida stepped only inches away from Jack’s face, the wix blew a gust of wind up into his hair to clear it from his eyes – but only exacerbated the strands’ chaotic arrangement. “You’ve gotta try it, too. It takes a little practice but don’t be mad that I have more experience. Just get better than me. Come on, show me!” With a wave of their wand, Aida cast a reparifors spell, putting Jack back together how he was before… but lacking his wand.

“My wand’s pretty smart, and now I’ve got yours. Better come get it!!”

With a gleeful jump, Aida scampered into a loping run for the door. If Jack wanted his wand back sooner rather than later, he’d have to chase after the pale miscreant!

Bailey's kind greeting warmed Colin a bit and he was really happy to see her and Kim enjoying the beautiful setting and decorations of the grand space. Colin smirked. His hair was almost as white as the Christmas trees! He let the hum of the conversations and dramas unfolding wash over him. But mostly he imagined himself here with Liam. He sighed. Why was it that he couldn't just go home for Christmas with Liam. Why did certain people want to hurt kids? It made no sense.

Colin's mind wandered back to the events of last summer and the year before. He was certain there was a connexion. There was the letter of course. AngelFyre had called that a "hit letter". There were two attacks involving werewolves. Even Colin thought that was a bit sus. He had also done some research into the Battle of Hogwarts and had found some interesting connexions between his family and the whole Riddle side of the war that he hadn't known about. He'd have to talk with AngelFyre about it again. He felt the tug of that letter again. If he ever told Clair about it, he was certain that she would think him stupid for not turning it over to his parents. But --- Colin shoved the thoughts aside.

A couple girls came walking towards him.

One he knew well. Lily. The other he had met recently --- not too long ago in fact. Daphne. He smirked at the memory. He had caught her reciting some poetry out by the lake as he was messing around. Honestly, she scared him as much he scared her, as Colin remembered! He'd been chasing after a mouse --- totally not to eat it! --- when they came face to face. He was pretty sure she thought he was weird.

But today, she looked sad. Daphne. Maybe she was missing someone too, Colin wondered. She wandered closer and sat down next to him. The other girl, his cousin Lily, looked a little down too. Maybe he just attracted sadness when he felt down himself? Daphne started off with a joke. About Christmas trees. Colin had never heard it before, and he couldn't help but laugh at it!

Lily put her head on Colin's shoulder. Colin generally thought of her as a top pocket troublemaker. But she had her more sensitive side, too. And between her soothing words and Daphne's jokes, Colin's heart began to feel a bit lighter. "I think I'm going to head out," Colin said after a while. "There are some things I have to do." Colin thought back to Clair's advice about writing a letter to Liam. He thought today might be a good time to write his twin a Christmas letter. "For one thing, I have to find out what an Elvish press lee is..."

He bowed slightly to the girls before turning away. "Thank you for making me feel better you two!"

Colin will leave the thread, unless dragged back by hag dolls or similar.
