The lightning cloud or so it seemed would move a constant back and forth, causing the students to keep wasting spells for some momentary feeling of security. Ruby would act on the same idea, casting a wind jinx to push it over to the eagles, while also attempting - and failing - to also hit Aida with the very same spell. Dmitri however would let Aida be his whole focus this round and it paid off, causing him to actually hit the girl and like her partner earlier, she would feel her body start to lock up. Luckily Aida had just enough time to cast a healing charm at the already struggling Delilah.

One would probably be able to say that Dmitri felt vindicated right about then as he watched yet another Petrificus topple a Ravenclaw.

In his previous duel, it was the boy's team who was on the tail end of a few Body-Binding Curses, but he hoped—as one of the culprits (the duel's current moderator)—watched, that people could see that not only could he do the same thing, but he could execute it infinitely better than they ever can.

The audience would then get to see Dmitri wipe a mock tear from his eyes as he'd whisper to his teammate, "I don't know why but this is all so hilarious to me."

A loud guffaw would then echo throughout the Dueling Club.

Aida had already gotten quite a bad vibe from the beginning of the duel, enough to spook the wix out of proper aiming, but were they really so sick as to keep inflicting Aida’s most hated spell – the bodybind curse? Was this an intentional cruelty to subject the claustrophobe to such agony, or was it simply their natural strategy? Either way, there wasn’t much Aida could do when failing to dodge.

This was getting ridiculous, every round Del thought the tables might turn, and every round they did the opposite, they stayed exactly where they wanted to be, that was enough. It felt like it was getting towards the middle of the duel now and Delilahs motivation was already waning, although at least, this time, Aida wasn't down within a couple of spells. Small mercies?

By this point, it seemed the Slytherins were still just toying with them, Dmitri felling one of the Ravenclaws once more and the dark cloud getting pushed back over the snakes’ opponents. Dmitri made a quiet comment about the situation being hilarious and Ruby would nod. “Agreed. You’d think students of their age would be more skilled by now.” The pair had far from the best sportsmanship, constantly making fun of their opponents, but they had earned their arrogance, to some degree. Students who had held positions of such high status kept their reputation even afterwards. Besides, they had the skill—or luck, as some would call it—to back their words up. It was now becoming a test of who would crack first, and it wouldn’t be the Slytherins.

While Aida failed to struggle against the binding spell, Delilah used her time to cast a body bind spell at the pair of vipers and actually managed to hit the both of them. Just as Dmitri returned the favor and hit her with the very same spell. Not to forget Ruby however who quickly landed a disarming charm, before attacking Delilah would no longer be allowed. It took a second for Alan to process and realized that this duel would now take a way weirder turn. With everyone petrified it was no longer a question of who was the most competent duellist, but instead the question focused on who was most likely to struggle free of the binding. All the while the thunder cloud kept crackling above the pair of eagles.

Dmitri really hasn't foreseen a double-Petrificus aimed their way courtesy of the Ravenclaw senior, but you know what they say: 'if you can't beat them, join them.' I really should have seen this coming, he mused to himself as he stared at the Dueling Club rafters.

Honestly, at this point, a chance to just lie down and rest after a heck of a job well done (as always) is not unwelcome at all.

If he could move his arms behind his head and cross his legs on the floor, he so definitely would.

Ever since bonding with their new wand, Aida had grown dependent on magic to do almost everything physically demanding. It was only natural that the wix’s muscles didn’t grow stronger, rendering them unable to resist the bodybind curse they so hated. Frozen and only able to watch from the limited range of their locked vision, Aida had to wonder if there wasn’t a demographic tendency for wizarding folk to be physically weaker than those raised under more muggle-influenced conditions. The other duellists all seemed to petrify, then, and with everyone stuck in place staring at each other it seemed a truly surreal scene.

There was a flash of irritation as Delilah managed to cast the Body-Bind Curse on both of the Slytherins, but she had to respect the good cast. Besides, it was so far into the duel before they had even been hit, and as spells went, this wasn’t the worst. It was really almost comical, the way that all four participants were frozen in place silently.

And we wait. Of course the magical restriction of her body was uncomfortable and unpleasant, but it didn’t deeply bother her and she wasn’t afraid. The rules of duelling stated that she couldn’t be harmed while frozen by the spell, and there were plenty of spectators and facilitators who she semi-trusted would keep her safe or end the spell if something actually harmful was to happen. So for now, she could just collect her thoughts and consider this somewhat of a break.

This seemed like a time to chill, all 4 of them were forced to just take a chill pill and have a lie down, Delilah was thankful that she managed to hit both of them, yes her wand flew out of her hand in the process but it gave her some time to think on their next moves before everybody got back up and chaos ensued some more.
