Kira watched as the boy took a drink from his goblet, and she soon realised that she actually hadn't touched any of the scrumptious looking foods laid out before her, already in her plate. She picked up a fork and stabbed a tender piece of chicken and casually ate the small piece. Definitely tender, and flavourful. However, suddenly finding herself not hungry, she placed the silver utensil down neatly on her plate and crossed her arms. She turned her attention back to the boy who began speaking again.

"A stopping point?" Interesting, she thought. Before coming here, she imagined every child would jump in utter glee just at the thought of an opportunity to go to this prestigious wizarding school.  Kira knows she did. But this boy beside her was just using the school as a stopping point, to find things more interesting. She couldn't imagine anything more interesting except getting to study here, but obviously this boy had other ideas. Kira nodded, "Well, for me, I personally believe Hogwarts is the perfect place for me to enhance my skills in magic, potions, and the sorts. My decision in being here could also be based on tradition, as my family would see me as an utter disgrace if I declined my acceptance letter." Kira shrugged, an edge in her voice when she mentioned her family, however her expression remained mild and calm.

It was true, however. Each member of Kira's family attended this very school Kira was in now. When Kira first received her Hogwarts letter, she was filled with utter joy. Her family was too, of course. But after a while, her glow of joy dimmed when her father, grandmother, and even mother began warning her about failing the family.

mortem was a nervous wreck... what was he going to tell his aunt.... mortem was a slytherin! he knew of his aunt intense hatred for the slytherin her blaming them for the wizarding war when he-who-shall-not-be-named rose to power who was indeed at one point a slytherin. but he was hoping to find someone who shared his anxiety because he did not like to be alone...

Kevin patiently waited at Kira's sampling of the chicken before the conversation could continue, ultimately his wait proved very short as she barely took a bite before replying. Her reiteration of his pointed prompted a nod from his end since he was still putting things to words. But her goals of improving her own abilities while insisting the quality of Hogwarts under the stress of family practice.

"See, right there - something more interesting," he pointed directly at the girl while stating his point. "Because I would argue that if your parents shared a similar goal in providing a quality education any good family, or family with a brilliant member can arrange better than the schools. It's happened before and I'm certain your parents capable enough on their own?" He paused to let his implication sit in and for her to assess things like family resources and connections on her own.

"I'd also imagine more families than mine keep various discoveries secret over the years of various potency - like the Philosopher's Stone of the Flamels. They never exactly shared the method of production or even a copy of it to friends, family or former school. So clearly families like ours send us for reasons like tradition, social bragging, and to let the kids play nice and make connections." He realized his rambling halfway though and rushed out the latter half.

"Which makes the ambitious people here interesting - especially those with a family behind them. If you forgive the poor explanation, but I've a feeling you're getting what I'm failing to say skillfully."

Morgana sashayed into the Great Hall, her nose deeply settled in a book. Although a normal person would knock into a table or a person if they had their nose in a book and walked in such a way, Morgana didn't seem to have a problem. In fact, she seemed more careful than most of her peers, who was dashing in and out of the hall.

The pale skinned girl took her seat at the table, not looking up from her book. She carefully dropped food onto her plate and turned a page delicately, as if the plate would break if she set her food down any harder. Picking up a ripe red apple, she took a quick bite of it before turning yet another page. While the rest of her table was loudly talking, gossiping, or just simply yelling at each other, Morgana was more at ease reading her textbook and munching on the delicious fruit.

Suddenly, an argument broke out which resulted in a couple of grapes and pieces of toast being thrown at some very immature first years. One piece of toast was misthrown and headed straight for the young girl.

A few first years held their breath as Morgana simply blocked it with her left hand and took a bite of the apple with her right. Once she was finished swallowing, she calmly stated,

"This is a meal hall, not a playground or a war zone. If you're going to act like fools, please take it outside."

Whispers filled the table for a few brief seconds, but people slowly went back to their routine. Morgana simply, once again, turned her page and continued to read.

Roxy calmly walked into the Great hall, her hands behind her back clasped together, she stood up straight and tense like- rather than calm, and relaxed like she would usually do. though her reason for this were people, Roxy had always disliked people n matter what they were, Muggle, Half-blood, Pure-blood, she could not fine the greatest thing in the world to even care what a person was, she simply disliked them. though she would not mind having Calm, simple conversations. Roxy found debate a exciting things, though once again she did not care that much to speak towards people- let alone argue over a topic she could care either way for.

Her pale snow white skin, brought her attention to some- her hair was soft, as snow and as pale as the first snowflake of winter times to come. her bright cherry red eyes would often be seen as darting around the room- though this was just simply Roxy examining- and looking around her surroundings, seeing what was what, or studying a person behavior things you would never suspect from a eleven year-Old. though Roxy was not like the other eleven year-old she was much more mature, and adult like- though her outward appearance made her look like a unkempt child.

The Slytherin table had been the closet to the entrance hall doors so it avoided the trouble of being around many people. she could already see people surrounding the Slytherin table speaking to one, and other- Roxy made no attention towards others there, and simply sat down studying her surroundings once more. she set both her elbows on the table top and leaned both hands against the sides of her cold, pale cheeks- there was one girl at the table who appeared to her have her nose stuck in a book, slowly but surly eating her food. Roxy had completely forgotten about food until she had looked at the one girl, but oh well she had already made it to the table so what would be the use of getting up, and walking back and fourth.

there was another a boy this time, he had blond unkempt hair and was almost as short as her- not to say the least maybe he was a bit shorter than her. he spoke towards another girl- it did not involve Roxy so she stuck her nose out of there business to save time, and so forth went back to studying the table, and its people.

The feeling of being watched caused Kevin to apologetically lift a finger to halt his conversation with Kira before scouring the table for the gaze. It would be hypocritical if he got mad about being watch...but he felt it reasonable to be annoyed by an unskillful gaze being leveled in is direction if one wished to treat him like an observation specimen. After a few skims, his eyes leveled on a lass roughly his size with platinum blonde hair and a book.  Yet again he felt a tingle for mischief course its way through his body.

"You know, it's not like I'm an exclusive club or anything - if you wish to join in and offer your own thoughts go right on ahead." He wasn't certain just how much the girl had heard so he assumed she heard everything while attempting to rope her in. It wouldn't hurt to add to the circle of friends after all.

"If nothing else, you can keep Kira here company. I'm certain to wear through any patience or faith in my abilities she possesses in a moment or two." He flashed what he hoped to be a friendly smile, but little could be done to disguise his mischievous nature since it had gotten momentum.

Roxy turned her attention towards the boy, with a emotionless face she stared at him quietly surprising if she had arrived a bit earlier she may have heard what they were originally speaking to one and other about. "That's a dense thing to say if you ask me, but I'm obviously not-" she said in a slightly irritated tone, though you would think the one to be slightly irritated would be the Boy for being studied, well not much studied Roxy attempted to keep her nose out of there business for the most part.

She sighed, standing up from the spot she was once sitting on a second ago moving over the strange boy. "If i may say if you payed a bit more attention to your surroundings you would have realized i arrived in the middle of the topic you both were conversing about. So now that you mentioned this so on so offer of yours what exactly is it, my curiosity is growing but my patients on finding out are wearing thin." Roxy finished her sentence sitting next to the young girl that he had been speaking with, the boy smiled this sent major bad news chilling down her spine- though she could care less Roxy was a person that was not easily fooled by such Childish antics to come following her way.

She placed her elbows against the table tops once more but to only place one hand against the side of her face, leaving the other hand under the table placed in her lap. Roxy awaited the response to come.

"The first half was just introductions. The meat of the conversations being goals of being here - mine being this just a stopping point to find other interesting things." Kevin quickly waved through most of the conversation in a manner to include the new girl as she sat down.

"Depending on what you've heard, I find that those from old or powerful families being here and claiming the aim is to get the best magical education they can funny. After all, family notes and research aside - powerful and wealthy family's can hire amazing teachers at home since attending Hogwarts isn't a legal requirement and statements like tradition are too trite." Again he summarized in blunt tones to ensure everyone was on the same page.

"So here's my thoughts: such families sending kids here is a form of noblesse oblige. Keeps society stable and prevents the family wars that could occur under the Wizard's Council and no doubt ran rampant before its inception. Their kids being here provides legitimacy, while the school provides a minimum baseline for the less spectacular families and Muggleborns. After all, there's never been a study to proved just how magic develops and originate in human. So the idea of long forgotten magic genes resurfacing are just likely as spontaneous development. Given history and the number of achievements of Half-bloods and Muggleborns the even older school of thought that power came from lineage is invalid unless we assume that the past thousand years or more that magical blood is so thin even in pure bloods as to be indistinguishable from Muggleborns on very large scale." Finally reaching the meat of his point he spoke very quickly to both the girls.

"skipping straight to the point: given our House tends to be ambitious, what about those of us particularly interested in improving our personal abilities scratch backs? Of course given my family's reputation - I'm more than willing to share first and the most."

Juliana walks up to the Slytherin table looking for her two lost gore drawings, she tries to look under the table, around it, on the table, and even peoples hands. She gets worried... She does not want anyone to find her gore drawings, she knows that people will get uncomfortable looking at her gore and creepy stuff! She panicked. She sees a Slytherin pick up both of her drawings Juliana starts to shake, 'no. Not now! NO!' She thinks. She stares, then she walks away from the Slytherin table but then a slytherin trips her. All of her drawings and comics fall out from her bag. Juliana gets up and looks at all of her drawing on the floor, Juliana gives a uncomfortable stare at some of the people picking up her drawings. She accidentally curses loud enough for the whole slytherin table to hear her. She starts to pick up some of her drawings but then realizes the whole table was staring at her, it was silence the type of silence that makes her nervous. She runs away with half of her drawings sticking out of her folders, and trying to cover her face. 'This can't be very good at all'

Roxy sat there surprised by the Blonde boys response, as for her thoughts just by looking at him she may have thought that his offer were something merely stupid/childish. Roxy had been getting involved with speaking with people all threw out today even though some of there topics bored her to death, she supposed she could go along with the boys offer as for today being a slightly special day, the boy sent chills down her spine though she couldn't place her finger on why though- maybe it was his smile that caused this, or maybe it was the fact that Roxy was only slightly hungry.

"I do have to say i am impressed on this offer of your's, only slightly disappointing it could have been more in deft but- that would take to much of my time, as for i do not care in the most politest way i could say possible if you would like to go first in sharing of what your have to say." Roxy finished her sentence instead of a slight smirk, or emotionless face she flashed the boy a smile of curiosity in the simplest for to say. She had already made a friend today in the common rooms why not make another.
