Alfred came from a long line of pureblooded wizards, while Mary was a muggle-born, with no magical ancestry in her family tree. It was this combination that gave Nicole her magical talents and made her a symbol of hope for her parents, who dreamed of her one day becoming a great wizard in her own right.
Alfred and Mary met by chance, while both working at a bookstore that specialized in magical texts, not unlike the famous Flourish and Blotts. It was a love-at-first-sight kind of story, with neither of them ever looking back once they had laid eyes on each other. However, the union was not without its challenges, as Alfred's pureblooded heritage made him wary of marrying a muggle-born. Despite this, Alfred was deeply in love with Mary, and he eventually married her, much to the chagrin of his family.
