A Quiet Entrance

Due to various mishaps involving Koldovstoretz, including the terrorist attack that decimated their halfblood and muggleborn student population, credited to SCAR in subsequent days and the injuries inflicted on them during the first round of the Hexwizard tournament. A likely record in terms of duration for a chess match, many of the students endured lasting effects, marks from where they were struck and a sickly feeling that persisted even after they had been fully 'healed.' Some sort of dark magic that seemed to be directed at this school. It was as if someone was out to get this student body in particular and they were being targeted for reasons unknown.
Perhaps that was why they did not want to make too much fanfare on arrival. It was likely why they wanted an unanticipated means of entry. The floo network was monitored by the Ministry of Magic and they thought that they had nothing to hide. They would arrive by train at Hogsmeade Station, the Hogwarts Express knew the way and had been a reliable source of transport less the singular incident that involved an attack by SCAR a few years ago. This trip was not documented. This trip was not announced to the media. They would take the train, making use of sleeper cars and the company of one another until they reached Hogsmeade. A site that had bitter memories for many of the students but they would not remain there for long. The floo network between Hogsmeade and Hogwarts would be open and the students would arrive in the Headmaster's office one at a time.
Brock Black, a squib had been kind enough to volunteer his fireplace to the children of Koldov. He was a brick wall of a man, generally good natured and amicable, he was well-liked in the community even if he was known to hit the bottle hard. His homestead was of a good-size considering the fact that he lived alone - "for entertaining folks from out of town" he would claim offering butterbeers to the weary travelers and pumpkin juice "for those that wanted something sweeter." He had promised his utmost discretion for the sake of the kids, to keep them safe and to keep them out of the media spotlight.
A quick wave, a hearty pat of the back to the larger fellows that could have knocked a lesser man down (and perhaps did in their case). He would let out a laugh, commenting that he hoped they enjoyed their trip and that he would see them soon. Of course their arrival was better-known, the students were expecting them and for those that wanted to be there to greet their friend, the office was open for visitation.

A Quiet Entrance
The last thing she saw was a whirl of emerald green flames roaring as high as snakes, as if lashing it's poisonous tongues. She felt the burning sensation and the slight wind that made her hair dance. Then she emerged in a circular room. This was it. Angelique Selemine was at Hogwarts.
She stepped out of the grate, careful not to spread too much ash on the floor, and almost bumped into the Headmaster himself. The room was....awesome. So many different objects that she would not find in daily life - let alone at school. She let out a low gasp; she couldn't contain it. Angelique looked like a child's doll, pretty eyes and naturally combed loose curly hair.
"Good afternoon, Sir." She uttered, her brilliant azure eyes on the Headmaster. She coutseyd and then walked out calmly, eager to catch up with her best friend who had apeared out of the fire moments ago. She pushed the heavy door open and descended down the even steps and was greeted with Hogwarts students, all swarming and milling around. A few of her friends were here, clustered around the office doors, unsure where to go. Ah well....perhaps one day they would host the Hexiwizard at Koldov.

date: 4/16/23 | place: Headmaster's Office | #5e5a5a= Roksana(English) | Thoughts= Italics
Roksana was now just officially deciding that she hated floo powder, and just how much she hated it. She would say that it was a "bumpy ride", sure, and certainly not one she'd ever want to take ever again. But, being a witch with apparently very high expectations that weren't even set by her person, she figured that avoiding floo powder forever just wasn't possible.
She hacked and coughed in the emerald green flames as she caught one last fleeting glimpse of the previous residence in Hogsmeade, breathing in ash, which made her cough some more. The flames were leaping and spinning, and she finally arrived at her destination: Hogwarts. The school where everything happened.
Feeling a bit discombobulated, she teetered out of the fireplace, managing to spread a lot of ash on the floor. They should get a good carpet... Roksana thought to herself. She coughed again and looked around in slack-jawed wonder at the office. It was amazing, with all sorts of odd and intricate gizmos, gadgets, and instruments. What were they for? Roksana wondered.
Portraits were hung all around the room...the portraits. Cool! There were bits of armor and cool-looking swords and(to Roksana's horror)claws and fangs too. But other than that, the room looked amazing. After taking in the splendor, Roksana looked at the Headmaster and muttered, "Hello," in English.
There were other students there, but Roksana paid no attention to them. She was trying to find Angelique. But, she could be in a lot of places. Groaning, Roksana lurched forward to the door and opened it, and saw the swarm of Hogwarts students. Welp, this was it. She was approximately 5600 miles from home, and now she had to navigate this new place and new school. Sigh...

Date: 04/16/23 | Language: Russian / English | iNPC: Nikolai 'Kolya' Ryzhkov
───────────────────────────────────────────────Stumbling from the burst of flames and into the rather opulent office of the Scottish school's headmaster, Nikolai quickly rights himself. He does his best to ignore the slight spike of his heartrate at the realization that the long journey is finally coming to a close. And the unfortunate knowledge that that end happens to be Hogwarts itself.
The boy subconsciously lifts a hand to rub at the faint scar marring the skin along the right side of his jaw. Though he no longer actively felt anything out of the ordinary at the touch just the knowledge that any evidence, no matter how faint, still remained bothered him to no end. Especially on his face. Of all the places the hit could have landed, it had to be right there. Kolya had done his best in the months since the first task to think of literally anything but their time on that chess board. He's done a poor job of it so far.
Shuffling out of the way as quickly as his tired limbs can manage, Kolya carefully navigates to one side of office to observe the rest of the arrivals. He was at least thankful for the discretion afforded the school in their travels. There was still a residual edge he couldn't shake, though. He felt as if he was waiting for the next shoe to drop. Where excitement and wonder had accompanied his first visit to the tournament host, only an uncharacteristic wariness now remained.
Stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jacket and shuffling nervously in place, Kolya simply stands and watches as other students filter into the office. He's not all too keen on wandering off on his own here of all places.────────────────────────────────

A Quiet Entrance
This was one of those entrances where nothing goes wrong. Well nothing goes wrong overtly in any case. Koldovstortez had this legacy of pain that followed it after loosing so much of their class to an act of terror. It was one of those terrible events that people tried to explain, put into a neat little box so that it would make sense for those that asked the hard questions like 'why.' Th only problem is, they never really got into the real question, 'how.'
In a community of wizards, an incendiary device does not just *pop* up. No, it has to be built, it has to be brought and it has to be triggered. Wizards do not possess those particular sets of skills and this had occurred in a wizarding community. It made no sense, they never arrested the man (or woman) responsible and the only thing that remained of those fallen students is their headstone and their memory as brief as it might be.
So, while some might have seen this as a way to limit their exposure, was it really? They went through the same city that tried to take their lives and for many, lives were lost. Yet it seemed fine, a tall man, squib who was friendly enough and let them use the barely used floo in his private home. Cold butterbeers waiting for them, they were only left with friendly words of encouragement. Finding love, meeting their potential, having a good time.
On the other side, the space was kind enough, but a bit strange. With bare walls and a rather understated interior, some would have expected 'more' from the school and the headmaster himself. The space was neat and clean, the desk was a site of industry and there were a few places to sit but they did not appear to be often used. This was not a space to loiter, but rather a space to land.
So while introductions and greetings were made, the temperate flames of the fireplace in the office would flicker and dance. the three posters as well as a smattering of others (faceless NPCs) that could not be bothered to post would emerge from the flames. "Welcome. Welcome back," he announced with what seemed like friendliness but in truth his greeting was laced with anxiety. Things seemed to 'go wrong' time and time again when all of the children gathered. It seemed inevitable that disaster would follow once more and with the growing resentment among factions of wizards, divided on lines of nationality and blood status, it was a bubbling witches cauldron of impending disaster.
Little did he know how right that was. Their luggage in tow, they would be unaware of the passenger they would bring in tow.
Nikolai Ryzhkov (@Avery McCall) would trail behind the bulk of the students, he bore the marks of a previous battle fought. Little did they know, that would be the first of many. "Welcome back Nikolai," he did not know the boy's nickname but he did recognize him from the match last fall. A name was made for himself that day. "What's with," his hand gestured vaguely towards the side of his face mirroring where the marks were. If he answered of not, Solomon would just give the youth a strange, concerned frown and say "be careful."

It would be the very first child, Angelique Selemine (@Duvessa Ember) to enter that would be the harbinger of pain and regret. Not that she was aware just yet of what she had carried with her. A curtsy and a greeting met with a light chuckle from the headmaster. "Привет" (hello) it was the extent of his Russian unless he needed to know where the bathroom was or wanted to order a Manhattan. It was during these introductions that things were missed, after all they were not entering a prison or a psychiatric facility, although that might be a matter of perspective alone considering how ill-acclimated some of these children were. It was a a modern marvel of of stupidity in most cases, in lieu of a personality some walked around with psychiatric disorders. Perhaps he should be checking the backs and the undersides, the contents and the walls of the luggage. if he had, he would have seen it. "The in" as they were calling it. "The impetus of change."Roll for the unwanted passenger: 1 (Angelique Selemine)
Roksana Nikolayev Volkovv (@Aurora Griffith) would follow behind a few faceless. The floo network not upholding her particular personal standard. An English 'hello' from the girl would come with a sense of relief, even if the word was burdened by an accent. At least he knew what was being said. "Welcome back, there is a late lunch in the great hall and the cabins on the grounds are ready," he announced, treating a simple hello from her and the greeting from the first as an indication of semi-fluency at least.Something was with Duvessa.

The fair headed girl had wondered about their arrival. She had pictured them all in the most different scenes, but she did not expect this one. The Headmasters office? She heard rumors that others were arriving on flying horses and squids (she doubted it, but it was heard), so why were they emerging from...well, a train?@Solomon Lear
Her eyes rested on Solomon Lear. The Headmaster of Hogwarts. She looked at him politely, but inside she was summoning him up. He seemed nice, and the way she would have pictured a headmaster.
"You have a very nice office." She commented, her accent thick but grammer correct. How many times had she spent trying to make sense out of English when she was younger? But this was strange, she thought, to arrive so discreetly. She fervently hoped that Professor Lear would be able to explain the "whys". Her rosebud mouth formed a charming smile as her eyes targeted the room once more, curiousity roused.
As she heard about lunch, Angelique found herself hungry. The trip had been a long one, yet very interesting, as they flooed from the pub's owners fireplace. It seemed that no one would ask why this had happened, and why they had entered the castle so quietly.

A pleasant enough encounter but far too brief. They had thought they were being cautious by allowing these children to arrive in such a quiet manner. Having been previously targeted, it was the least that they could do. The only problem was that mercy left the school vulnerable.
The fireplace did not have a grate. It was in active use so the grate and the lock that prevented the passage of unwanted visitors no longer served as an obstruction. They might have thought that they were doing their due-diligence by protecting the children as they had but they were unaware of what Angelique carried with her.
Once they were satisfied that none of the children were left behind, they would be led away without worry or concern. A casual journey to Hogwarts. A simple stay. He would join them for the welcome, the only trouble on the man's mind would be the relative tardiness of Castelobruxo. The train was coming for them, the conductor would have earned his wage this day. He did not feel comfortable keeping the grate open for so long, an act of prudence that would go a step too short. An owl send to Hogsmeade conveyed the simple message: we will meet Castelobruxo at the station with a wagon. The residents of Hogsmeade had been accommodating enough.
He would replace the grate and lock the fireplace up tight.

───────────────────────────────────────────────Visibly jolting from his thoughts at the sound of his name, Kolya turns his attention towards the towering figure of the Headmaster. Somehow, he'd not registered the man occupying the space upon entering the room. Not that it was entirely surprising considering that this was the man's personal office. Not even a full five minutes back at this school and he was already finding himself caught off guard. Not a great sign of things to come.
The boy does his best to gather himself, standing as tall as his diminutive height could accommodate and clearing his throat nervously. "Thank you, Headmaster." He did his best to suppress the slight flicker of pride that tried to flare to life at the knowledge that the Headmaster of Hogwarts remembered his name and recognized him. The loss Koldovstoretz suffered at the hands of the Hogwarts team last task was fairly memorable, just not for the reasons he would have preferred. Still, a tentative smile is offered. "It is good to be back." The statement itself didn't hold much in the way of strength or conviction, but the attempt at politeness was at least there.
The budding smile immediately falls away as the conversation turns towards the faint marks marring the side of his jaw. The boy lifts a hand to absently run his thumb along the length as if it would rub the reminder away. Kolya drops his hand back to his side clears his throat once more, fighting to keep his posture from slouching at all. "Ah, it is...from last task." The simple explanation is all that's offered up. Not that much more was known about the various marks the team now carried beyond the fact that they remained persistent.
The Headmaster's seemingly concerned warning left an anxious pit in the boy's stomach. Trying to tamp it down, he did his best to project an air of confidence. Weak as it may be. "That is plan hopefully," he returns, shoulders bunching up in an attempt to shrug. Bit of an impossible ask in a tournament such as this if that first task was anything to go by, though. But at least the sentiment is nice. "Ah, you all as well," Kolya quickly adds, giving a vague gesture in the direction of Hogwarts as a whole. As much as the loss from the first round stung to this day, he didn't wish any actual harm to come to anyone.────────────────────────────────
