Trouble with Dungbombs
As Quinn quickly scribbles a letter to her brother reading as such:
Hey Marc!
I miss you so I got you something a gift I know you would enjoy
“Hmm not good enough” Quinn mumbles to her self and scratches out the letter and writes
Once she found a school owl she tried to figure out how to attach the parcel and letter to the bird and after what seemed to be an eternity she finally figured out how and watched the owl fly away.
Hey Marc!
I miss you so I got you something a gift I know you would enjoy
“Hmm not good enough” Quinn mumbles to her self and scratches out the letter and writes
Quinn thinks to herself “Good enough” and looks for a school owl with a parcel that reeks of dung in one hand and a letter in another.Hey Marc
I got you something I think you would enjoy
Your sincerely
Quinn White

Trouble with Dungbombs
Miranda loved owls, mostly because they got things done fast, like delivery. Her parents always sent owls, especially her father since he was in the Ministry, and when she was younger she use to watch them fly away until they disappeared, wondering if they ever had strange adventures on the way. But now that she was eleven and going to a wizarding school, she felt like she was too old to be imagining such things.
Today she decided to send her parents her first letter from Hogwarts, and it was going to be a good one. She was going to tell them all about her dorm, her friends, her classes, and how much she missed them. They'd already sent her two letters, one before she'd even arrived and the day after she'd arrived. It made Miranda smile knowing her parents were still earnest to know how she was feeling in a place that four of their other children already attended.
When she walked into the owlery she went to a quiet area and wrote her letter. She didn't want to write it in her dorm because of privacy. In neat, cursive handwriting Miranda wrote the following:
Walking over to them, she said, "Hello. I can see that it's your first time sending an owl, ha. I've sent mine to my parents, who did you send yours to?"

Miranda sealed the letter in an envelope and after checking that she had the right details written on it, she sent an owl to fly off with it. After making sure it got as far as she could see, Miranda turned around to leave but then she noticed another student who probably was sending letters too.
Dear Mother and Father,
Hogwarts is a magnificent place to be! I've already received your previous letters and I'm very happy that you took the time to owl me, because I know you both are very busy at this time. Of course I was sorted into Slytherin but I know that Peter probably already told you that--he was the loudest one at the table.
I like being a Slytherin, people are friendly and mostly smart, though if some of the girls would stop yapping their mouths all of the time--like these Gryffindor girl's in Charms--then it wouldn't be half as bad. Overall, I'm really happy to be at Hogwarts and I think I'll really enjoy my next few years here, even if Peter will be graduating after my second-year. But little Douglas and Margaret will be attending at the same time as me by my fourth-year so it's all good.
Right now I'm busy with studying--and yes, I am still studying my maths, it's still easy for me--so I have to keep this letter shorter than I wanted, but when I have time I'll send something longer, so don't get worried.
Please tell everyone that I've said hello, especially Margaret because of how sad she was before I got onto the train.
Sincerely,
Miranda Romilly Krause
Walking over to them, she said, "Hello. I can see that it's your first time sending an owl, ha. I've sent mine to my parents, who did you send yours to?"

Quinn looks up "Hi and yeah it's my first time sending a letter, I am a little surprised I figured out how to attach the letter to the owl." She'd sigh before saying "I sent my letter and that parcel to my brother, Marc." Quinn smiled "I am Quinn, Quinn White and you are?" She'd look at the girl's uniform and stutter "Oh cool your in Slytherin" She'd say unknowingly about Gryffindors and Slytherins hating each other
Quinn noticed a Hufflepuff girl slowly walking over to where she was talking to the Slytherin were and herself were talking automatically said "Hi" taking off her glasses, quickly clearing them from fog and putting them back on "I am Quinn, well I think you heard that the first time I said it to this Slytherin girl." She'd say smiling nervously while brushing her shiny strawberry blonde hair out of her face." Quinn caught her eye quickly and said confused "Um why are you so nervous?" and watched the an owl fly back into the Owlery, it feather's wet from the rain that was started pouring down from the grey skies and mumbles to herself "I hope my package and letter doesn't get wet" before turning back to the two girls.

Miranda noticed that this girl was very open about herself and what she was doing. Her own parents taught her about keeping secrets and only letting people know what she wanted them to know, which shouldn't be a lot. That way people had less things to use against her. But that didn't stop Miranda from wanting to know everything about everyone else.
Quinn seemed to kind enough, especially being a Gryffindor talking to a Slytherin. Some people felt like the two Houses didn't get along at all but Miranda usually doesn't judge a book by it's cover. Her parents fully supported the House of Slytherin with great pride but they always admitted that they did make some good friends in Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. And Miranda wasn't one to pass up an opportunity to make an interesting friend.
"My name is Miranda," she said, just as another girl approached them. She was a Hufflepuff, one of the House's her parents weren't that fond of. It was because in their years, there had been great rivalry between them, both trying to get the most points and earn the House Cup, and her own mother had had an enemy from the Hufflepuff, and they were still rivals to this day. But Miranda just looked at the girl from the corner of eye, raising a brow.
"My father always made sure to cast a water-repelling spell on his owls when the weather was bad, but he usually waited for the sky to clear up before he did." She looked at the wet owl too. "But I heard that the owls tuck small enough letters underneath them enough to block out moisture."
That's when she recognized the girl. She was the same one from the Hogwarts Express, who'd been arguing with that boy. Miranda eyed her and looked away with a smirk.
