─On the sharp chime of 6 o'clock could a small blonde be found wandering throughout Hogwarts mystified corridors. No, not so much wandering as it was a determination to get to one place. The Charms classroom, if we were going to be all too specific. Hours had passed since she held tightly onto the letter, kept perfectly managed as sure not to be creased. Inside a bag thrown over her shoulder held sweet delights as well, her travels here extra careful in making sure not to disturb them. Logically, Maeve assumed her Professor would much prefer visiting at a time that didn't tread onto her grading hours. Perhaps she was still too early, but curfew was only precious time ahead as it were.
The letter she held contained written words of gratitude, appreciation, and admiration altogether. Words she had so specifically conjured just hours before, finished neatly with a lilac wax seal. Professor Fresnel was one of great fondness to Maeve, hopefully one that had shown just as well. It could be best described as that of idolism, inspired by her knowledge and comforted by her kind teaching methods.
A knock was first presented against the door leading to the Charms teacher, followed by a gentle yet cautious poke of her head through the open crack. Upon entering she was greeted by the fellow scent of magic, one that could not be described but rather only experienced. Light cast a warm glow atop the open desks that housed students during schooling hours, though dimmer than usual as the sun set slowly behind the castle.
Was she here? A small voice in her mind began to ask, curious if she'd missed her presence entirely. It was evening, but surely not that late. "Professor Fresnel?" she called out softly, hoping to catch the professor's attention. Upon no answer, the Irish girl pressed on hesitantly, approaching the desk she'd seen resided at dozens of times. "I've brought cookies, iced raspberry thumbprint? And a letter. Should I leave them?" Once again she asked aloud, speaking to no one in particular.

You’ve Charmed Me
There was a slight clanging sound as Zoë’s heels connected with the metal base of the peculiar bucket. While she knew that she should be upset at her student for using the Extension Charm on something they weren’t supposed to, they had done a pretty fantastic job of actually making some substantial dimensions. There were areas for improvement but all in all, it showed incredible promise.
Zoë had to remind herself that she was not currently wandering around inside a bucket to give the student a grade, she was only there to ensure that nothing living or dangerous was being kept inside the extended bucket before she would undo the charm. The interior of the bucket itself was like an enormous metal box, so a little lacking in creativity, but by the looks of it, the Ravenclaw boy was mostly using the bucket to store a refined mixture of trash, old snacks, and the occasional ‘borrowed’ piece of furniture that would be returned. It seemed the boy was trying to make a little hangout spot inside of the bucket before it had been confiscated.
As Zoë investigated inside the bucket, she could have sworn she heard her name. But then she reminded herself that there was no way the boy would have had the ability to add a charm that could identify who was trespassing inside the bucket. She could, of course, but he still had room to grow. She continued the investigation before again hearing a voice. This time it was clear and actually recognizable. She then recalled that her classroom was likely still unlocked. The word cookie had been enough to persuade Zoë to investigate the unexpected visitor.
Just beside Zoë’s desk was a very small bucket that looked as though it might be an empty flower pot. After a moment, Zoë’s head popped out of the bucket to greet her visiting student. “Hello, love! One moment please, my dear,” Zoë said warmly as she took a moment to climb out of the bucket as gracefully as was possible when climbing out of a small bucket.
Finally, back on her feet beside the desk, Zoë offered a warm smile to Maeve as she looked down at the girl. “Now then! How can I help you, mon petit chou?”

─Despite being magically inclined, the sight of a head, just a head, peering out from a flowerpot was nothing short of startling. As the face of her professor was quickly recognized, Maeve offered her own smile in return, partially thankful that the unexpected visit was well received. For a moment did her eyes stare curiously at the tin bucket in which her elder emerged, wondering just how deep it went. If not for the sound of Fresnel's voice would she have only theorized longer, though the task at hand was more important. Was it a task? More like a delivery. An offering? Whatever you wanted to describe it as, Maeve's eyes met the blonde woman's.
She hesitated for a moment, clearly recognizing there was work to be done.. somewhere inside that bucket. With hands fiddling across the edge of the letter, she cleared her voice. "I do hope I'm not interrupting anything important, it was just Professor Appreciation Day and I thought.." She paused to smile wider, outstretching the white envelope. "Well I just wrote something for you." It was a feeble offer, but an offer nonetheless. Slowly did the realization of not knowing how many students had already passed by sink in, forming uncertainty if hers would even matter. She guessed that was what the cookies were for.
The cookies.
Sounds of rustling through a knitted bag could be heard inside the quiet classroom, pulling out neatly packaged delights just seconds later. The box was intricately wrapped, brought together with a burgundy ribboned bow. Truth be told Maeve hadn't even been the one to bake them, instead a gift from her mother that'd been sent to Hogwarts. That detail didn't really matter though, sliding them onto the desk gently as she spoke once more. "Fingers crossed you like raspberry.."

You’ve Charmed Me
Free of the curious confines of the bucket, Zoë was able to shift her full attention to the familiar first year before her. Noticing the clutched letter, Zoë gave a warm smile to the girl as she began to speak and mentioned that she was actually there for something related to Professor Appreciation Day. Which was good because Zoë had been in a bucket for quite some time and welcomed the adorable distraction from any work.
Teaching and getting to watch her students grow had always been the reason that Zoë adored being a professor. That being said, there was an inherent warmth in having her students express any semblance of appreciation for her and her class. “You absolutely aren’t interrupting anything important. I assure you the bucket can wait,” Zoë smiled at the girl as she gently plucked the letter from her outstretched hand.
“Thank you so much for this, Maeve, it truly means a lot to me. And you brought cookies? Don’t you worry about those, I highly doubt they will survive the night,” Zoë said with a wink as she placed a hand on the intricately wrapped box that had been spread across the table. “You are genuinely a pleasure to have in class dear. And you do know that baked goods are always going to brighten my already luminous day,” Zoë quickly assured the girl who still seemed a bit hesitant.
Assuming the girl would prefer that she didn’t open up and read the letter right in front of her, Zoë gently placed the white envelope beside the wrapped box. Zoë could see the care that went into wrapping the sweet but very meaningful gesture. “I do adore raspberry in my pastries and baked goods but I especially love almond extract which I am almost positive these cookies have." She continued as her smile widened moving her eyes from the cookies back to Maeve. "But, now that you have to take my class all seven years, I need to at least know what your favorite baked treat is,” Zoë said with a playful raise of her eyebrow as she volunteered the girl to continue taking Charms passed the required years.
