| ─── | It was only a matter of time before Colin was able to land a spell on him.
Kim knew this and was curious to find out what spell it would be, as there were so many to choose from. The most popular ones were usually the Knockback Jinx, Flipendo and the Fire-Making Spell, Incendio Duo. If he had to guess what spell it would be, he'd go for the latter. Why? Because if it hit it could deal a lot of damage and also had the potential to set your opponent afire too. He'd debated about using that one too but had ultimately decided against that one and chosen a different one. Kim didn't regret his choice, after all it was kind of interesting to use different spells and see how they affected others. Practice makes perfect, right? As the next round began, Kim cast the Knockback Jinx at Colin again, making one of his nicknames stand out to any who happened to be spectating at the time. That nickname being, the Flipendo Prince. It was a spell he really liked and some might say it was his favorite. The brilliant blue jet of light erupted from the end of his wand after he'd said the incantation, "Flipendo!" and found its target quite easily this time. At the same time, Colin cast his own spell at him, Incendio Duo. The spell choice wasn't surprising to the teen... It was one of the more popular spells. Kim was usually quite good at evading spells coming his direction. But this time luck wasn't with him. At first it seemed as if he might evade it but at the last second, he ended up getting nicked by the fire. As soon as that happened, the fire started to spread and soon he was aflame. Luckily it was just the top of his shoulder and not anywhere else. Kim would let it burn for a few seconds and put it out later if it didn't go out on its own in a few minutes. First he had to focus on getting off another spell at Colin. Time to mix things up a little! Maybe Colin would like to be on fire this time. Or perhaps he'd like to get knocked back a few paces... The idea of debuffing was also a good idea. Or maybe even doing a spell that Colin wouldn't expect him to use on him. There were so many options to choose from! Kim wasn't sure what he wanted to do but knew when the time came he'd make a decision. Hopefully, it would be a good one. Lately, Kim had been delving more into homework than he'd done over the past few months. Maybe it was because of what had happened back in early October. But regardless of the reason, Kim was building up his skill with a lot of fun new spells. Whether or not he'd use them in this duel remained to be seen. |

Colin VS Kim
"Oof!" Colin stumbled back again, and regained his footing. Colin narrowed his eyes. The Flipendo King struck again! And right in the stomach, too. Colin was regretting having eaten a snack before the duel. It was one thing to be hit by a friend's spell casting, but it was quite another to barf all over the piste! And on top of all that, Colin was still feeling the effects of Kim's initial volley of verdemillious. His vision was clearing now, he wasn't seeing wandering sparks any more, but things were still a bit blurry. But still! He hadn't realised the effects could last so long. That would be good to keep in mind for the future!
Well, can't worry about that now lad! Today is Kim and what's done is done.
"Incendio duo!" Colin wasn't a boy to take revenge or anything, but he did need to hit hard in a duel. At this point in their time at Hogwarts, that pretty much meant incendio's flames or flipendo's brute force. The Flipendo Prince was obviously honing his skills by knocking Colin around the piste; while for his part, he had become rather enamoured of the flashier magics one could do with fire and flame. Kind of like what he'd seen those muggles doing last summer in their war among the stars. They had a kind of fire they shot from some sort of wand and also actual swords of flame! Those were sooo cool!
And finally Colin's spell hit! Not dead on, but not bad for seeing the world through lime jello! Colin smiled. Kim looked pretty good by fire light!

Damion watched as Kim cast his spell that hit Colin. Woohoo!! Way to go Kim. Damion thought. He was not going to say it out loud that he was supporting Kim. Well anything could happen in a duel. Anything. When you think, someone is about to win, they might lose. So Damion was not getting his hopes up.Colin vs Kim:

28 > 8→ Hit
Damage: 100+4x10= 140
Effect: Colin takes 140 damage.
Colin McCoire seemed to be frozen and moving to cast any spells. Kim Sato casted the Flipendo spell on Colin McCoire, which hit Colin.
Damion watched as the duel proceeded ahead. He was eager to see who would win this duel. If his calculations were right, there were chances that Kim could win this thing. He didn't want to get his hopes up about it as there was a possibility that Kim wouldn't win it. And Damion didn't want to have that hope be crushed.
Damion stood in the corner as he watched the younger boys going at each other. Well this was just a duel. He hoped that this wouldn't hurt their friendship. Not that he was wanting it to do that. Damion was hoping that this wouldn't put a wedge between friends. It was not only them that he was concerned about.

He wasn't sure what Colin would do but was positive he could deal with whatever he cast at him. As for himself, Kim already knew what he was going to do. He quickly cast one of his favorite spells, the Knockback Jinx. The redhead was well versed in casting this particular spell, enough so that his pronunciation and wand movements were perfect and he could already tell it would be a powerful one. There were some things you could just sense ahead of time and this was one of them. Kim knew it would hit his opponent and when it did, he wasn't surprised at all by the result. It was what he'd expected to have happen. But it did come as a surprise when his opponent seemed to freeze. Surely Colin wasn't intimidated by him? Or did he feel bad he was going up against a friend? This was a duel and anything went, there was no reason to hold back at all because this was supposed to serve as practice for all of them. Why hold back when you were meant to practice your skills and test them out? "You ok there, Irish?" Kim asked, raising a brow in Colin's direction. The redhead glanced over at Damion and back at Colin again, waiting for the next round.... What should he cast next on Colin? From the look of things, this duel would be coming to an end soon. The only question was who would win? |

Colin VS Kim
Whoa.
Colin started to feel dizzy after Kim's last strike. The Flipendo Prince was well named! He was pretty sure he wasn't seeing green sparks anymore. He reckoned those would fade eventually anyway, so he wasn't too worried. He shook his head. A little slower than usual. Everything was hurting. Colin wasn't sure if he was going to be able to continue.
He heard Kim's voice call out a spell. He saw the bluish light of it, watched as it hurtled towards him. The way the swirls of magic curled around Kim's wand and how they coalesced and formed into one cohesive ball of energy before it discharged was a delight to see! It probably would have been a little more delightful to watch had he gotten out of the way.
But still, there was something to be said for staring at the magic from straight on!
And when it hit, that something was: "OOF!!" Kim's favourite spell smashed into his barely resisting body as his half detached mind considered the weirdness of the feeling of being whomped full force. He felt himself slide back on the piste. He only barely managed to keep himself upright.
Colin shook his head again, trying to clear it. Kim said something. Another spell? Colin wasn't sure. He just knew that was in some kind of fog. Nothing hit him, though. Maybe Kim was gloating? That wasn't like him. Probably was asking if he felt like puking or something. Colin muttered something noncommittal. "'Mokay."
He stretched his shoulders and shook his head again. The fog was clearing a bit. The pain, he'd just have to deal with that.

Damion watched the duel as it progressed. He was not sure at this point even who was going to win the match. He was not sure about anything to be honest. He was really hoping that the guy he was crushing on wins but he didn't want to seem to Colin that he was being too biased about it.Colin vs Kim:

Colin McCoire cast the tongue tying spell but Kim Sat evaded it easily. Kim Sato casted the Flipendo spell on Colin McCoire, which hit Colin.
Damion watched as the younger Slytherin fell unconscious. He walked to the middle of the duelling stage and put his hands up to stop Kim from doing anything else. "This duel is over." Damion said looking at Kim. "Kim Aoki wins the first ever match in the 1v1 Dueling Club." He claps his hands for Kim. He looked at him and then at the boy who was unconscious.
Damion being the person in charge of the dueling club he had to make sure that Colin was alright. He picked up the young Slytherin boy in his arms and carried him to the Hospital Wing. He wanted to make sure that Colin got the proper care he needed and was going to do well.

| ─── | Colin's slurred words made his brow furrow.
Could he already be suffering from some kind of head injury from his last spell? Kim hoped it wasn't too bad. As the duel continued, Colin cast the Tongue-Tying spell at him. It was a logical choice, as if it had hit him, Kim would have been unable to cast spells until it wore off. But he'd seen it coming almost as soon as it had left the end of Colin's wand and therefore was able to avoid it completely. In retaliation, Kim sent off his favorite spell in Colin's direction again. He knew from the moment the spell left the end of his wand that he'd done it perfectly, the only question was if Colin would be able to dodge it. But luck was not on Colin's side.... The poor Slytherin was knocked unconscious by the spell this time and Kim nodded when Damion stepped forward and announced him as the winner. "Let's get him looked at." He told Damion and as the leader of the club picked Colin up and headed over to the hospital wing with him, Kim followed behind him. It wasn't as if he was concerned about his friend, it was just that he wanted to make sure she was alright... that wasn't the same thing, it really wasn't. Once he'd made sure he was fine, he'd leave. But until then, he'd stay. Just to make sure. It was something anyone would do, right? None of his actions meant he was 'concerned' about him... |
