A Visit to the Office

Well, well, the headmaster, head of Hogwarts, of all the students and teachers. Cassie longed to attract attention from him, Headmaster Solomon Lear.

However, Cassie never dared to pay a visit to the Headmaster's Office before. The thought of paying a visit grew stronger and stronger. Finally, this morning, Cassie took a deep breath, and heads to the Headmaster's Office.

She walks down the West tower from her common room, and climbs up the spiral staircase to go to the Astronomy Tower, where the Headmaster's office is. Standing in front of the door, Cassie wants to knock the door, but she is too afraid and anxious. Go, she tells herself, if you want the Headmaster to remember and like you, you need to be brave and confident.

Slowly, she raises her hand and knocks on the door. Once and twice. She doesn't even know if the headmaster is inside. There were rumours of him being missing before, but who knows? Perhaps he can be in the office.

She waits, quietly, excitedly, anxiously outside the huge door. Time seems to stop flowing pass. Deadly silence. She takes another deep breath and says, 'Professor Lear, sir, are you inside. I am Cassie Jiang, a first year Ravenclaw.' Meanwhile, she realizes another problem. She doesn't have a proper reason to visit. No one likes to meet a visitor with no reason to come...

A Visit to the Office
Solomon was doing as he always did. Sifted through the piles of papers. Reviewed syllabi and answered the written summons of reporters and parents. It was nothing spectacular and he liked it that way. The safe, even if tedious monotony of keeping this school running. The concerns for a wizard differed from that of a muggle. Places like Hogwarts depended on the faith of the parents, those that sent their children to the school to learn magic in a safe, knowledgeable environment. To prepare them for a life in the wizarding world.

The problem was, the school had to walk certain lines. Fulfill expectations and enter controversial topics with care. The school had been the site of battles before, housed dark wizards, but for the bad that there was, there was more good than bad to color the school's legacy.

Someone would call out to him, pulling him from his work. Not that there was a reason for it, at least one declared. Just a house and a name. He would let out a groan followed by a sigh. "Come on in," he replied with hesitancy. As far as he was aware, and he did keep track to some extent the ongoing of his school, there was nothing of present interest. Still he called back with the presumption that the caller had an actual need and was not there just to steal from him his limited time.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

A Visit to the Office
After being allowed into the office, Cassie starts to ask the questions that she feels only the Headmaster might be able to answer, and she just wants to express her feelings and questions. 'Headmaster, sir, I have some questions which are currently confusing me. I feel no one can probably help me except you, sir. Well, my first question puzzling me is, that no matter if you know it before, I ave great academic grades, well, I have all Os in every homework up to now. So, both my parents and I have high expectations on me. I also set this goal that I am aiming to get all Os in every homework in my life at Hogwarts. I, proud of myself, tells this goal to many people.'

She pauses to think, and says softly and slowly, 'I do think, sometimes, that I might be too harsh on myself. You see, to achieve this goal, I have to do my homework very carefully, and I have to be extra nervous when the grades are down. I spend more time on studying, and I feel exhausted sometimes. My friends, however seems to be more happy, balancing activities and study better.'

'I have thought of lowering my expectations, but I don't want to... 'give up' myself, sir, I was nearly sorted to Slytherin by the hat, for I always want to prove myself and win every game. I want such glory, as according to what I know, few people achieved the goal of having all Os in every homework. I told this to my parents and my friends, my goal. And I think I will be embarrassed when I say I quitted when they ask about my goal. It's a difficult choice. I am exhausted and I feel I have little, at least less time for fun. I am confused. Do you have any good opinions, sir?'
